About Me

Hi! My name is Kaylie and I am a crochet fanatic! I’m 21 and I am from Illinois. I’ve been crocheting since January 2023. I don’t sell my crochet items or make patterns. This blog is just to document all the things I have crocheted and meet some fiber artists! Feel free to DM me or ask questions about crochet. I remember when I used to read for fun and now I’m an English major so I read 120 PAGES a night damn near so I read nothing for funsies.

So slay, I choose this for myself. The required readings aren’t bad this year but damn ya know.

It’s been a minute but I’m making a little granny square (African flower motif) tapestry for my dorm room :)

Great to crochet again. I had to get settled and packed up.

The Outer Wilds solar system: complete! It was a true labor of love and I'm so proud of how it turned out 🌌🌠

Pattern: my own! Almost everything is some form of flat crochet circle, however, plus some embroidery details. Dark Bramble is partly tapestry crochet, and the quantum moon is movable as it's on a button! :D

Background - Malabrigo Dos Tierras in 'Paris Night' (yes all of it! The border is a different colourway! Looks intentional, right? :P)

Timber Hearth - Life In The Long Grass Twist DK in 'Moorlands' (thank you Northern Yarn)

Attlerock - Woollen Wytch SW Merino DK in 'Overcast' (thank you Woollen Wytch and Alterknit Universe)

The Quantum Moon yarn was held with silver thread and it has a clear button on the back (thank you Hester's Haberdashery)

crochet is the ultimate autism hobby. stim. excuse to not make eye contact. pattern recognition. repetitive movement. ultimate gratification at the end. "you wouldn't download a clothing" fuck you yes i will. and i have. i made fabric in fun shape and its ONE STRING and i made it from nothing. i would also download a fun little stuffed guy. and many other things. yes i have carpal/ulnar tunnel now but that is irrelevant

YEA! i do crochet lace and regular crochet! i also wanna learn c2c but i havent gotten to it yet

I haven’t done C2C either but i did a version of it I guess but it went in rounds like a granny square.

Crochet lace is super cool and definitely something I need to learn. I’d love to make doilies and the like.

What’s your hook size for lace?

i use size 10 thread and a 1.65/1.5 hook but when im using sewing thread i use a .75 hook :D

Wow! Unfortunately my hook set doesn’t go that small. What brand of hook do you use?

pretty sure they go smaller but that was the smallest one at the craft store
