Welcome kiddos to some extremely underrated anime,,, seriously why is no one talking about this?

I just saw Megalo Box when I was scrolling through Netflix options and ya’ll know I love a good underdog story. The show was created in honor of the 50th anniversary of the manga Ashita no Joe. The story is centered around Joe, an underground illegal boxer who does fixed fights to survive. On the other side of the river where the wealthy prosper, the Shirato group is holding a Megalo Boxing tournament called Megalonia. Joe almost crashes into Yukiko Shirato and his encounter with her bodyguard/champion, Yuri, sets Joe on a path to prove himself worthy to fight him. 

Before going really in depth, I’d just like to say that this short series is absolutely amazing. There is so much to unpack with Joe’s journey and they really provide insight into each character in only 13 episodes. I really could not bring myself to hate anyone because really, they’re all living and surviving for their own goals. And the animation during the fight scenes and overall soundtrack is unreal. Honestly, I was so anxious for every fight and the animators did an amazing job of making it feel like you’re there with them.

Megalo Box is not dead yet. Season 2 will be back hopefully this year.

It’s a big day. You had held Bucky’s hand as you stood in the doorway to his apartment, playing with his rings so you didn’t have to meet his eyes. You were nervous, not because you didn’t trust Bucky but because with every secret spilled you felt like a layer of your skin was being peeled away. But you’d held his hand and told him to pick you up tonight from your office. You handed him your business card, a physical embodiment of trust you hadn’t given to anyone else. It wasn’t your apartment address, sure, but it was something and Bucky held the card with the biggest, boyish grin on his face that melted your heart.

The real reason you’re so nervous is because if whoever followed you from Bucky’s apartment is following Bucky, then they’ll follow him right to your office door. You’d had a long talk to yourself in the bathroom mirror the other night, however, and decided you weren’t going to let a hypothetical stalker ruin yet another relationship for you. Not that stalkers are common in your life, but using any excuse to distance yourself and cut people out is most definitely your regular MO. Not this time.

That being said, stalkers aren’t common in your life so you are, understandably, fixated by it. You are sure it has something to do with Bucky because you don’t believe in coincidences and the guy literally followed you from Bucky’s apartment. The big question is, was the stalker after Bucky or were they after you? Since you have next to nothing to go on, you aren’t exactly on your way to answering that one yet. But you’ll get there, eventually, and you’ve got some ideas.

post consistently especially when you’re starting out. i used to post 2-3 times a week when i started. now i only post 1-2 times tt.tt but i’m still consistent and trust me it attracts a lot of followers!

know that your writing doesn’t suck. we’re our own harshest critic. your readers aren’t out to get you, and they won’t judge you for writing fanfiction that perhaps isn’t your best work

the only way to get better at writing is to practice. so write a lot. every day. it doesn’t have to be bnha fanfic. you don’t need to post it. just write!

read a lot also! you can learn so much by absorbing yourself in other author’s styles, tone, syntax, etc. [i personally am not a big fanfic reader but i do read a lot of novels and i think it helps a lot with my writing!]

tag accordingly and only tag things RELEVANT to what you wrote (if its a todoroki x reader, don’t tag it as bakugou x reader. it’ll only get people annoyed and give u bad exposure)
