An evening in Ketterdam
They (the Jedi) trained more than anything else to understand the transitional nature of life, that things are constantly changing and you can’t hold on to anything. You can love things but you can’t be attached to them, you must be willing to let the flow of life and the flow of the Force move through your life, move through you. So that you can be compassionate and loving and caring, but not be possessive and grabbing and holding on to things and trying to keep things the way they are. Letting go is the central theme of the film.

Listen to the sound of wikipedia
This is a way to listen to changes to wikipedia. You are literally listening to knowledge being added to the world.
Pluck sounds are an addition, strings are subtractions, and the pitch says how how big the edit is. My heart shudders at this I love it so much.
This is so relaxing.
I COULD LISTEN TO THIS FOR HOURS THANKS
Overstimulating: turn on all languages
Hyperaware: turn on wikidata, English, and anything else
Upbeat calm: turn on English, German, Hindu, Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, Telegu
Calm: English, Chinese, Hindu, German
Distant calm: Arabic, Telegu, Hebrew, Sanskrit, Hindu
Unsettling quiet: Punjabi, Serbian, Western Mari, Macedonian, Farsi, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati
The Distant Cry: only Western Mari
We used to have this running in the room, displaying on a projector, at wikipedia editathons that I used help with, uh, oh gosh nearly a decade ago? I guess we must have been using it very soon after it came out.
I think some of the options for this application didn’t exist then, but the basics haven’t changed and it is still absolutely wonderful. Thanks, Hatnote, Listen to Wikipedia is a joy.
May the 4th be with you~

Hilda by Duane Bryers
More Hilda!!
in this family we love and support Hilda.
Yes! Hilda!
What i love about this artist’s depictions of women is even the sexualized ones the woman is always genuinely happy and enjoying herself. Frolicking or making funny faces, she’s living her life and looking sexy while doing it, not sitting in a sexual pose for the audience’s view.
I always forget about Hilda and am so pleased when she randomly shows up on my dash. Always makes my day
I love Hilda so much and I want her to be happy
My favorite thing is how Hilda is always doing something and having a BLAST! She’s not posing coyly for anyone, she’s having her own adventures and it’s not about the viewer at all
@niuniente I hope you don't mind me trying you in this. But it has your vibes in the best way.

When You Least Expect It. Probably Late March
reblog for happiness to come for you in late march!
I reblogged this last year and I hung out with blink-182 backstage on March 30. Reblogging again because it worked the first time.
honestly, last year one of the best days of my life happened in late March
Cat Sisters & Nephew.
I still think about them a lot🤧
I was all prepared to laugh at this entire scene, Chanath Cha gives her big dramatic speech about how Vader took everything from her and she’s spent her life planning revenge, only for him to say, “I still don’t know who the fuck you are.”, because that could have been hilarious. But then it wasn’t just a dismissal. It was, “You spent your life on a crusade of which I was unaware, that did not affect me at all. All of that time… you stopped nothing for me. While I prevented you from doing everything.” However this scenario turns out, if Chanath finds satisfaction in her path or not, we do know that she can’t kill Vader here, and we know that her entire life was poured into someone who didn’t even notice. The irony of it struck me so hard that it’s Sith Lord Darth Vader saying, “Revenge doesn’t get you anywhere good.” The irony of Vader pointing out that revenge just drags you further into the dark, that it only put Chanath in a prison while he was out there doing whatever he wanted, not even noticing. This is why the Jedi don’t take revenge, why it’s not the Jedi way. Chanath could have healed from this, could have still done something with her life. Instead, Vader was her life, that’s all her life was, and he didn’t even notice.
And there we go, this is how Chanath Cha’s story ends:
Her friends tried to come back for her, but they were ripped apart by one of Qi’ra’s allies because they had to get the Fermata Cage back to her, and Chanath dies on that beach. Qi’ra doesn’t regret it, saying that Chanath thought she was writing her own story, but really she was just a character in Qi’ra’s story instead. Chanath’s revenge ends up being nothing, that even when she found a family along the way, they ended up in tatters or dead when they went up against Vader. Darth Vader won’t even remember their names. Their desire for revenge meant they were no longer writing their own stories, they were just side characters in someone else’s story, and not even a blip in that story. The story of Darth Vader will not be derailed by Chanath Cha, her desire for revenge didn’t even make him stumble in the grand scheme of things. Her quest for revenge was pointless, because that’s what Star Wars is at its core. Revenge is not the Star Wars way, letting anger and hate into your heart will not satisfying you in Star Wars, that’s not what Star Wars should ever try to say. And I love love love that it’s both ironic and perfectly apt that it’s Darth Vader illustrating how spending your life on anger and revenge is just throwing it away, that Vader is a perfect illustration of why the Jedi way is not about revenge. Because you’re just hurting yourself and the other person may not even know your name at the end of it, your affect on them will be nothing, meanwhile they’ll take everything from you.
