I’m sure everyone is sick of seeing political posts, this isn’t political, it’s a humanitarian crisis! And it’s not only happening “somewhere else” anymore!
Armenians are being attacked in the streets of my country!!Why is there not national outrage, or a movement rising up?? Where is anyone outside of the Armenian population screaming for equality? A genocide is literally taking place RIGHT NOW but you all would rather get upset and put your energy into candidates who are literally doing nothing of substance to help this situation while schools, hospitals and civilian homes are destroyed.
In 1915 no one cared about Armenia either, they watched as these same instigators marched women, children and elderly out into the desert with the sole intention of none of them making it back home, this is after murdering the men and those strong enough to fight back in front of their families. The term genocide was coined solely because of this tragedy! An entire culture almost wiped from the planet, and people still say we are overreacting!
Don’t allow this to happen again, don’t be someone who sits back as an entire country and culture are facing the threat of a SECOND GENOCIDE!!!! Please, wake up, do something, spread the news, because it could be me or my family being targeted tomorrow.
the term genocide was coined after the mass ethnic cleansing of armenians by the ottoman empire in 1915. think about that for a second.
i say this as the descendant of two holocaust survivors: it is vital to remember now that hitler rationalized the holocaust because no one cared about the armenian genocide, either. for once in history, pay collective attention before a mass tragedy occurs. (again. and again and again.)
i know criticizing the south as being backwards and regressive is all the rage right now, but actually the south is home to some of the most visionary, radical, progressive activists in the whole damn country and yes i will die on this hill. georgia flipping blue is a testament to those activists and hopefully gives you a taste of just how important this work is, and how these southern organizations need our support now more than ever.
people who live in progressive/liberal areas need to stop scapegoating the south and start working with us for our collective liberation. what happened in georgia is great, but it’s unfair to rely on the most marginalized to save us (white people) from ourselves. on that note, hey fellow white people! we didn’t invent white supremacy, but we inherited it. it’s up to us to demolish it, and fall in line with BIPOC-led organizations who are doing the work. you can (and should) help even if you don’t live in the south.
here’s a list of southern organizations doing great work and how to donate to support them.
Fair Fight. “We promote fair elections in Georgia and around the country, encourage voter participation in elections, and educate voters about elections and their voting rights.” Donate here.
Southerners on New Ground (SONG). “SONG is a home for LGBTQ liberation across all lines of race, class, abilities, age, culture, gender, and sexuality in the South. We build, sustain, and connect a southern regional base of LBGTQ people in order to transform the region through strategic projects and campaigns developed in response to the current conditions in our communities.” Donate here.
Gideon’s Army. “Our mission is to act collectively, boldly and strategically as a unified force for all children. We eliminate the root causes of the prison pipeline, save our children from death and incarceration and guide them on a secure path to success.” Donate here.
Free Hearts. “A Tennessee state-wide organization led by formerly incarcerated women that provides support, education, and advocacy in organizing families impacted by incarceration, with the ultimate goals of reuniting families and keeping families together.” (Has also been doing a lot of work recently helping formerly incarcerated folks vote for the first time!)
Project South. “A Southern-based leadership development organization that creates spaces for movement building.” Donate here.
Southern Movement Assembly. “An organizing strategy for community and movement governance…We believe that we are stronger together, and we participate in grassroots democracy to exercise political power at the community, city, state, and regional levels.” Donate here.
Black Voters Matter. “To increase power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. Effective voting allows a community to determine its own destiny.” Donate here.
The Equity Alliance. “A Nashville-based grassroots non-profit advocacy group that seeks to equip citizens with tools and strategies to engage in the civic process and empower them to take action on issues affecting their daily lives.” Donate here.
if you know of great southern orgs, especially if they’re local to you, please add them! if you live in the south and don’t know of any orgs, i guarantee there is a stacey abrams doing great work near you. get engaged with local efforts for equality!
Is it worth it to donate to the McGrath campaign in the hopes that we can kick Mitch out of the Senate, or should I focus on donating to other more competitive races? (Which races do you think are the best to donate to / need money the most right now?)
donate to more competitive races. mcgrath has more money than she could ever spend and a snowball’s chance in hell of actually winning. there are a dozen more competitive races that are more strapped for cash than that one. if you want to do what i did then donate to the fund that will split your donation between the most winnable senate races

"AHAHA NOTHING BAD EVER HAPPENS TO THE KENNEDY--WOAH"
you guys i’m so fucking scared
the pandemic is absolutely thriving in south asia. i’m not kidding. you might think the US is bad, but the situation in countries like india (which literally surpassed the US for the world’d highest single-day increase in cases) and nepal (which has seen a huge spike in cases recently) is genuinely reached horrible new highs. i have most of my extended family living in nepal, and they can’t go to the hospital for non-covid related issues. there’s barely any social distancing, around 250,000 people are homeless and have no access to proper sanitary resources, and everyone is terrified due to multiple conspiracies about the disease that are spreading like wildfire. the government is incompetent and has barely done anything to help people, and desperation is spreading. india is a bigger country with more resources, and is also suffering, but people in nepal, particularly the ones who live in slums or villages, are prime targets for the virus and will receive absolutely nothing from the government. if you are able, please donate to this fund to support children, particularly orphans, who have been left vulnerable by the effects of the pandemic in nepal. they need your help.
Here is a list of more fundraisers supporting India’s most vulnerable during the pandemic
(I am currently looking for fundraisers in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and other places in South Asia and will update when I find them)
this is so upsetting, PLEASE rb to spread awareness
PLEASE, PLEASE REBLOG THIS, WHETHER YOURE JEWISH OR NOT.
THIS IS A SUPER IMPORTANT PART OF OUR HISTORY, DONT LET IT GET DESTROYED.
“Hello, my name is Sharlene Pike and I am a black transgender person originating from South Africa and working as a receptionist/host. I moved to the United States 4 years ago alone and without any support, as my parents died in my home country when I was 18. Being a transgender black female immigrant places three discrimination barriers and makes it extremely hard to socialize and find a job to live properly. Nevertheless, I tried my best. I had been working at 7 different companies as a receptionist/host/waitress for these four years, but 2 months ago I lost my job. The reasoning I was given - ‘staff reduction due to COVID-19 complications’. I have been unemployed for these 2 months, but the reason I can’t start a new job is not COVID-19. In February, I was diagnosed with stage-3 esophageal cancer. I had no prior knowledge of my diagnosis as this type of cancer can be quite concealed, and I had only two or three weeks of eating discomfort before I had a medical consultation. The company I was working at had a special program to support staff members who need expensive surgeries or therapies, and I believe my diagnosis was the true reason I was reduced, since it happened just after I told my office I might need an extended medical leave. The sum I have spent on the medical procedures only to clarify the future treatment equals my 3 salaries. The sum I’m asking for is actually covering first 6 months of treatment and the cheapest drug - basically simply to have a chance to survive. I have no health insurance and I can’t take a new job because my health condition significantly deteriorated. The thing that I have learnt throughout these months is that it is very hard to get any, even basic medical help if you are transgender. The death rate of the esophageal cancer is about 30%, which is very high, and I ask you to help me to have a chance to survive. I tried to deal with everything without anyone by my side, but current circumstances left me with no choice but to ask you to donate and share my story. Thank you very much.”

Hello there!
I'm Ronan, you can call me Ronron, all my friends do!
I've been through treatment for over a month now due to urinary related problems that also overwhelmed my kidneys and spleen. For very little I didn't go through organ failure, fortunately my human mom acted quickly and I received the help I needed. I'm stable now but still on observation.
Besides the emergency treatment, when I come back home I'm gonna need antibiotics, painkillers and special food for at least 3 months to be able to be as healthy as possible to recover from this and play, run and take loads of naps, and all of that is very expensive and my human mom can't afford that especially amidst the crises we're all facing right now.
But she wants the best for me so she's trying really hard to get everything I need, even though she has no idea how. She's still trying guys.
I beg you to help her and help me keep up with my treatment. I'm a very good kitten and I deserve to live a happy life in the company of my sister, Tessa, who misses me very much and my human mom, Luhna, who I know loves me very much.
Please, help if you can through donations or sharing this. We need all the help we can get!
We live in Brazil so even if you have only 5 or 10 dollars, here it's gonna be worth five times that ( the exchange rate today it's 4.97 to 1) So there's no small sum that can't help! Do what you can even reblogging it's very helpful.
Thank you all so much!

Hello guys.
I'd like to say I'm better but I had to go back to the hospital after 3 days at home. You see.. I'm a very fearful little kitten and everything that's strange or uncomfortable stresses me out which helps the formation of crystals in my urethra which doesn't let me pee and causes a lot of pain. Even with the medication I'm having trouble getting used to this routine because it bothers me a lot to take that bunch of pills and I get upset and if I get upset the crystals gather quickly and I can't pee again.
I know it's for the best but I can't help it, it makes very scared, and here I go again to the hospital which only makes me more scared because i don't know anybody there and i don't have my sister and my human mom with me.
The doctors say I need a specialist, I don't know what that is I just hope it can help me. Cause I just want to go home and be in peace with my family. I know my human mom is trying her best to get everything I need, but all i really need is to get better and go home, to do that I need the help from the specialist and it sounds expensive.
If you can help please contribute to my treatment or share this so more people can know me and maybe help me get back to my family too!! Thank you so much!
