Getting any closer than this seems unwise. Three women glare at you from a distance, their soulless eyes following your every movement. The jackal's presence alone fills you with dread. None of them react to your presence, however, save the person balancing on the spokes of the wheel.
“That looks dangerous,” You say as a means of greeting. They look like they are about to fall.
“No more dangerous than what will happen when I cast these dice,” The motley stranger responds nonchalantly. The bird on his shoulder doesn’t seem bothered by their antics, either. “--Or than what you are about to do.”
“What I am about to do? I don’t know -- I’m not planning to do anything?”
They smile to themselves, still fully focused on finding a steady feeting. “Oh, I know. But you will do it anyway. You’ve already done it, anyway. It’s been written down.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” You protest, frowning, and you decide that this strange person is nothing but a fool, mocking you with their nonsensical riddles.
“Of course you don’t. Because you haven’t done it yet. You haven’t made a decision yet.” They flash a bright smile at you, as if aware of their contradictory words. “They think it doesn’t matter because everything has already been written down, because they know what you will choose. But that’s not true.” The fool gracefully leaps from the wheel, landing right in front of you, and extend their hand that is holding the dice.
“If the choice is not up to you, everything will change,” The fool promises with a mischievous gleam in their eyes.
(This is the card of destiny, turning points, luck, etc. The wheel suggest external factors out of your control are influencing your current situation, for better or worse. But it’s always possible to take matters in your own hands, in spite of the circumstances.
I’m so bad at drawing things wits structure and straight lines lmaooo but i love the fool!! so!! i brought them back!! to thwart fate!! because that’s what fools do :^) I like how luck/chance & destiny/fate are typically seen as opposites, but they apparently both concepts are related to this card? Fun.
