Meanwhile, in another Spider-Verse.... the cast of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (in theaters now), swap voice roles in this hilarious web exclusive.
Friday, June 2
It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for. The highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is finally in theaters and we’re celebrating by giving you an exclusive clip l from the cast of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Reblog away, Spider-Babies.
All the Spider-People are back on the big screen and it’s great to see some familiar faces and hear some familiar voices. Not only that, but we’ll be meeting a bevy of new characters from across the Multiverse—turns out there’s a whole Spider-Society full of web-slinging friends (and possibly foes).
Shameik Moore is back as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld once again voices Gwen Stacy, and of course Jake Johnson returns as fan-favorite Sad Dad Peter B. Parker. Some of the biggest excitement, however, surrounds Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, voiced by Oscar Isaac. He’s a vampire ninja Spider-Man who runs the Spider-Society. Sure, why not? The Multiverse contains…well, multitudes.
If the trailers are any indication of what we have in store, this sequel is set to deliver groundbreaking animation and an absolute banger of a soundtrack. Folks are thrilled with the diversity and inclusion from the trailers alone—did you peep the trans pride flag in Gwen’s bedroom? Fan art, theories, and heartfelt posts expressing anticipation have flooded the tags for weeks gearing up to the release date—speculation abounds.
Consider this an open invite to join the conversation on Tumblr. We can’t wait to see your theories and fanart added to the mix. And don’t forget to tag your spoilers! With great power comes great responsibility, after all.
