I started this Tumblr in January 2017, when FetLife began their infamous purge of all things hypnosis-related. The purge turned out to be short-lived, but I still don’t trust FetLife and decided not to give them any more free original content. So I kept this, to stay in touch with friends in this ‘verse and to provide an outlet for my occasional musings and the odd piece of fresh hypno-smut.

In the process, this blog became the most effective way I had to talk to the community. It peaked a couple of weeks ago at 1,042 followers – it’s down a few now and will likely keep trending down as more and more people delete their accounts – which made it a great place to keep people updated on Charmed! and other community-related happenings. I have to assume that, starting tomorrow, it will become less and less useful that way.

So, where to next? I honestly don’t know. I’ve joined the Hypnobunker subreddit that The Secret Subject started. I still have a FetLife account, though I still refuse to post content there other than announcements and con-related updates (no woodworking photos, no smut). I have a presence on Discord, mostly on the con-related servers and a few general erotic hypnosis realms. Twitter seems to be a popular option, and I’m thinking about it (any Twitter users want to weigh in on that?). Sharesome is absolutely out because of their TOS – as long as that says hypnosis is not allowed, I’m not going to be satisfied with a wink-wink-nudge-nudge-it’s-okay from someone on staff. Also, their “You have to be single or separated” thing just smacks of the kind of attitude that we really shouldn’t be rewarding in this day and age.

So for now, I suppose I’ll stay here until Tumblr is no longer useful as a communication platform and supplement with FetLife, with occasional peeks at Reddit and maybe add Twitter. When/if something new comes along, I’ll probably join that right before it implodes, since that seems to be my pattern. ;^)

I want more women to feel empowered to do this.

Scars from breast cancer can be both hard to hide and embarrassing for some women. I wish they weren’t, because scars mean you’re a fighter and a bad ass.

Women have told me after their mastectomy they felt self conscious about someone seeing their chest. My grandmother wore her false breast (she had only one boob removed) around even the house for a long time. (Of course, now when we were taking about the procedure she asked “want to see my boob?” And had to go fetch it from the other room. It was an interesting conversation to say the least.)

Anyway, breast reconstruction can be expensive, and some women either don’t want it or can’t have it done for various reasons.

But you know what, chest tattoos are easily accessible. There are even tattoo shops that give discounts to women covering up breast cancer scars. And women who no longer have a nipple? You can get a bad ass tattoo

These are cancer survivors reclaiming their bodies.

Banning all “female presenting” nipples ignores a commuity of women who are total bad asses who said “fuck you” to their cancer scars and turned them into art.

Not every image of a female nipple should be sexualized. This is not porn, this is courage and strength.

Are the new regulations going to delete this post. Does a post supporting a cancer survivors violate Tumblr’s community guidelines?

If it does, maybe the guidelines are wrong, and not the post.

Dear Jeff D’Onofrio,

On December 17, Tumblr will be banning porn from its site.

By banning “adult content” from your website in truth you categorically ban sex workers regardless of how they are using your platform. You cut them off from the ability to build an audience for their work, and what’s even worse, you declare their very existence as obscene.

Tumblr allows every content creator, artist, or small entrepreneur to build an audience and communicate with this audience at any moment in time - if you do not work in the adult industry of course.

Many brands use social media to sell products. Social media and eCommerce are interlocked. You take this now away from every adult content creator around the globe. And that is wrong.

You mentioned in a blog post titled “A better, more positive Tumblr”:

“There is no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.”

You are wrong: There is a shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content, in particular when it comes to shadowbanning and the ability to also advertise on these sites.

Look, here is what we do:

Sharesome is a site that welcomes all the people that you just kicked off your platform. You gave them time until December 17th to export a backup of their blog to save their years of work. Meanwhile we will develop an import tool, so they can move to us, and we leave you with all the white supremacist Nazi blogs – because we ban that kind of shit.
