i get why people don't believe in marriage as a social construct but legally it is the best and easiest way to say "this is who i trust to take care of me when i can't take care of myself" and i'm so glad gay people fought for that right bc when shit gets scary at least i know im in good hands
always funny to remember darth vader is anakin skywalker. the adrenaline junkie chucklefuck who used to dive head first out of speeders and built a pod racer in his yard when he was like six is now upper-middle management for the evil empire. half of his appearances in the original trilogy are Meetings. vader spends like 80% of his time dealing with bureaucratic bullshit. status updates. team meetings. holo-Zooms. budget rundowns. anakin betrayed the jedi and caused the fall of the republic and his punishment is being CC'd on every email forever. and you know what. he would hate that. the punishment fits the criminal
I HC that Sidious put him in upper management specifically to make that hate flow. He looked at Jedi Anakin and thought to himself: what does this guy like? Jumping out of moving vehicles at 30,000 feet? Well, we wonât be doing *gestures at all of Anakin* that. Put this guy in an office.

âDeath is a natural part of lifeâ
And in this sentence, yoda has proven nobody is meant to live as long as he has, or at least canât do so without developing some serious apathetic tendencies
Because of his long lifespan, Yoda has seen countless people die, probably people who were close to him.
In order to keep himself from going to the dark side, he has become numb to such events and has convinced himself that such partings are ânaturalâ
Not that he doesnât have a point, (if a little hypocritical coming from the immortal frog man), but his defenses have not only caused him to impose such thinking on the order as a whole, but has him believing that everyone has the same thought process and reaction to death as he does, never realizing how distressing and traumatic said events can be.
Now, was Anakin wrong in helping sidious and killing an entire religious community? Yes! Definitely! Did Yoda help anything? Nope! Nothing he does in the prequel era has ever helped, this line of thinking drove his former padawan dooku into the hands of sidious and then also Anakin, it also irreparably damaged the Jediâs relationships with the republic and allowed palatine to enact his plan and turn the republic against the Jedi.
And yoda knows this, in the empire strikes back and return of the Jedi, Yoda is painfully aware his actions at least partially contributed to the destruction of the Jedi and the republic. That is why he trains Luke, as Luke is (as far as yoda knows) the last Jedi and thus, his last chance to atone, to correct his mistakes. But as shown with his suggestion to abandon Han and Leia to Vader, even then he couldnât fully leave this mindset behind.
He also allows himself to wallow in his guilt and depression after his defeat by sidious, even though the rebellion desperately needs someone like him, even if he canât defeat the emperor on his first try, he can still do some major damage to the empire, and to Vader. He allowed himself to choose his emotions over his duty to the galaxy, something he has scolded other Jedi for countless times.
In short. Immortality causes immorality

Everyone's all "ohhh 2026 bring back physical media" until I start talking illuminated manuscripts and then suddenly we're not on the same page anymore
Actually we are on the same page. We've been on the same page for a week because these things take forever to make
Actually we are on the same page. We've been on the same page for a week because this sentence deviates from the standard version of the text and the lettering is just a little too smudged to distinguish between the minims with any certainty. We're currently trying to figure out if this says omnem or omnium (the abbreviation is just omm). We're probably going to be here for some time.
listen i'm fucking working on it
