Happy Birthday to You
---- "All done!" She expressed with bliss as she looked at her creation. She had spent most part of the morning in the Fifth Division kitchen, after she had cleared the paperwork she had to do before engaging in the art of baking. "I wonder if Shiro~chan is free?" She mused out loud, an index finger tapping lightly upon her chin.
A smile made it's way upon her facade as she turned around and started cleaning the mess she made while she had baked the cake. While she was doing the clean up, her thoughts kept returning to her friend. Would he mind if she brought this to his office? She knew he wasn't one that would take his birthday as a big day, but even if he didn't, she would make it a great day for both of them.
A few minutes later, the kitchen was spotless. With a satisfied nod, she went to get the cake in her grasp and headed toward the Tenth Division barracks. She did not let her surroundings distract her, when she was acknowledged, she replied curtly before continuing her way. Momo didn't want anything to happen to the cake, that would ruin her surprise to Toshiro; she just couldn't risk such a thing.
There it was, the Tenth Division. With a pleasant smile, she proceeded in. In moments, she was in front of the captain's door. Normally she would knock and wait to be admitted with a command, but this day she didn't go with formalities. With a swish of the door sliding open, she smiled brightly toward her friend behind the desk.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIRO~CHAN!"
The vice-captain headed toward the desk as she said her felicitations to him. As she reached the desk, she placed the cake swiftly and carefully. The form of the cake was that of a watermelon and of course the icing was in the colors of the fruit. What would be a surprise, was that she had included the watermelon's flavor within the bread that held a red tint when it would be revealed as it was sliced. It had been quite the work to implement such a thing, but for Toshiro she would do that much. "I hope you have a great day, and I brought this small gift to you. I hope you enjoy it, it's your favorite flavor!"

For my childhood friend. A bond I cannot deny and remain grateful for.
Deeply lost in thought as he went over his latest battle strategies, nothing else quite registered to him until her voice came ringing through to him, his serious composer diminished almost instantly.
"Hinamori!"
Was all the young shinigami could utter, being caught off guard by the sudden visit. He had found himself preoccupied with non-stop training the last week’s gone by and no one had thought to be so inclined to interrupt him, then again there was no one else the focused prodigy would allow to distract him.
-- The sudden burst of a single word from the inside of the office was enough to tell her just how engrossed her friend was in his work. "So you are in there!" She had been right to hear the rumors of the division and the absence of his presence.
Since she had been acknowledged and hadn't been dismissed yet, she took the liberty of opening the door and walking inside, one of her hans holding the batch of manju in a small basket. She offered him a smile as she showed him the food. "They're still warm, you better eat them now. I'm sure whatever you've been doing can wait a little longer."
-- Knocks upon the closed door that was the entrance to the tenth division taichou's office. The fukutaichou hadn't been around the barracks in a while, busy with her own work that came from the fifth division. "Shiro~chan, it's me! I brought you some manju for you. I know you've been quite busy but you shouldn't neglect yourself and miss meals."
You do this to me, whhhhhyyy ;A;
--I didn't know you'd see it! ;=; Me sorry.
--...
"I’m doing alright." She smiled at the younger girl. She laughed a little bit. "Only paperwork, you know how taichou is about getting his paperwork all done on time and it being perfect. What about you?"
She reciprocated the laughter knowing all too well how Toshiro was with being punctual and organized with his division paperwork. "Of course, he always wants things to be on time. Sometimes I think he pushes himself too much. --The division is getting assignments but it's not too overwhelming yet."

"Th-thank you Shiro~chan!"
"Momo, It’s good to see you. No, I was just wanting to see how you were doing today."
"I'm doing well, how about you? has there been much to do in the 10th Division?"
