     {  ❄  }  ━   “ HEY - don’t tell your mom , but - ” glances around to make sure no one’s watching before he quickly pulls out a large candy cane from his pocket. “ eatin’ candy before dinner won’t spoil it . it’s all a LIE , ” sam gives a grin, holding the cane out to nolan. “ if i end up on the naughty list for givin’ you this , i’m tellin’ noelle you ASKED FOR IT , dig me ? ”

          “   h-huh  ?   ”   the boy was kinda thrown off by sam for just a   split second,   only to be taken by surprise of the large candy cane that he was offered.   “   REALLY ! ?   ”   his eyes seemed like they had grown in size as they widened when he took the candy cane from the man.   “   yeah,   yeah  !   ”   he might have been a little   too hypnotized   by the candy.   only then he snapped out of it as he began to nibble on it.   “  hey... ya know... what if you were on it... before you gave me   THIS  ?   ”

          INITIALLY, there is some hesitance in his gaze as he regards the YOUNG stranger. It’s a STUBBORN refusal to allow his job to leave him DISTRUSTFUL of children that has him accepting the cookie with a genuine smile. ❛❛ It certainly looks delicious — you offer cookies to strangers often?? ❜❜ 

          a smile   BEAMED   onto the boy’s face when the   stranger   took the cookie from him,   feeling accomplished yet again that someone is going to taste his excellent baking skills   (   even if he does say so himself   ).   “   sometimes i do   !   ”   nolan straightened up his posture,   only to hold up his right index finger before speaking again.   “   but only to those that look like they have a   GOOD HEART   !   ”

       Noelle couldn’t help but laugh, eyes bright as she watched her son–– her son!–– speed around the kitchen. Sure, she’d been a mom for a good few years now, but she still found herself being bowled over by how happy he made her. “Slow your roll there, tiger,” she said, smiling, “it’ll be ready soon! But you gotta stay in one place when I take it out of the oven because I do not want to take a trip to the emergency room tonight.” She reached a hand out to ruffle his hair. “I completely understand that you are full of energy and I celebrate that, but I don’t want you getting hurt. Especially not so close to Christmas!”

         a   quick   halt was made,   arms settling down as he stood by his mother,  a very soft yet   cheerful   smile residing on the boy’s lips was now present as he listened to her.   “   right,  right...  sorry,   mommy.   ”    he mumbled beneath his breath only to shake his head a bit after the ruffled hair bit.   “  heeeeey,   do you know how long it took me to get this look   ?   ”   of course he was teasing,   only to wrap his arms around his mom to give her a big bear hug which he was a   SPECIALIST   in.   “   i’ll behave now,  momma...   promise   !   ”

there was a   scrunch   of his nose that was made,   eyebrows furrowed up as he tilted his head to the pat of his shoulder.   “  w-what are you talking about ?   ”   nolan was a bit   CONFUSED   nonetheless as he blinked a couple times   awkwardly.

          “   mom,   come on . . .   it’s not that   hard   !   you got this   !   ”   nolan encouraged his mother as he recorded her.   surely he should have helped her out,   but   she’s santa . . .   she can figure out how to play the drums.

          “   momma . . .   is that what was   supposed   to happen   ?   ”   nolan asked,   a face of astonishment   &   concerned filled him as he looked down at the very   CRISPY   gingerbread people that they had just taken out of the oven.
