Everyone in the Vere Palace keeps hounding King Laurent to get a portrait of himself. They need him to sit for one so they can have a trace of his image. Hell even let someone sketch his profile to make a coin mold at least ! Every time, King Laurent says he's too busy and comes up with excuses. When his reputation was finally healing from the poisons spread by his uncle, he spoils it again by being known as an impatient and entitled King that won't even sit still for a few hours. Only Damen is in the confidence. Only Damen was told of Laurent's fear of seeing a portrait of himself and see Auguste looking right back at him, and of people only caring about his looks, and how tired he is of people only praising his beauty after years of it being an excuse to take advantage of him
