The rough sketch was started and left to languish in 2018. Six years. It took me SIX years to do something with it. And all it really required was for me to decide to return to my crack-ridden roots. (There's now a link on my main page to all my stupid multi-fandom fancomics and 4koma nonsense.)

Any Mo Dao Zu Shi/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/魔道祖师 fans here? My desperation to draw something crack-y for the fledgling english-speaking fandom is what resulted in the top picture.  I’m not even sorry.

Acceptable alternative dialogue:

Question: would you ever draw that scene where keith scolds lotor for 'being mean?' That one was my absolute favorite xD

I also enjoyed that scene quite a bit, anon!  Keith truly has a way with words LOL

I’m sorry to say however that, because my dumbass sense of humour didn’t resonate completely with that scene, I currently don’t have any plans to draw it. 

The trash floofs terrorizing Lotor scene on the other hand...

One of my favourite scenes from Chapter 8 of Little Blade by lilflowerpot.... or at least a uh, very loose and trashy self-indulgent re-interpretation of it.  What do you mean this isn’t how Lotor actually reacted?  

If you enjoy Keitor, Matt Holt, A+ characterisations and character interactions all around, and top-notch world-building/headcanons (especially those of the Galra persuasion), I cannot recommend this fic highly enough.

Haven’t drawn or done anything fandom-y for myself in... has it been years?  I don’t even know anymore.  Except for the fact that I am officially in Rare Pair Hell again, Keith and Lotor demand fangs showing in their Shit-Eating grins, and all I want is good IC Voltron crack fics, but they’re so few and far in between??  Next thing you know, I’ll be writing fic again.  Jesus.

It’s almost like clockwork... every odd year, or every other odd year, something happens at work that just so happens to dump a boatload of free time on my hands in the 4th quarter.  Last time (2015) one of my crazier cases settled unexpectedly.  This time, one of my main cases was stayed for mediation unexpectedly by the magistrate judge.  That mediation period then proceeded to drag on for 3 goddamn months or so.  

Went with a watercolor style this time, but the goldfish make their appearances yet again. LOL  There was actually a second part to this illustration that I simply didn’t have time for--a “prequel” part where the little snow people go ice fishing for the light source in their lanterns. :)  

Anyway, hope everybody has a safe and happy new year.  Let’s hope 2018 is at least marginally better than 2017.  I mean, what a shitshow it has been. :’D

/barfs chibis and sakura

Not quite dead!  Life has been super busy, and I’ll admit to not having been on tumblr for a few months now.  Fandomless void wandering, ‘sup.

1 & 2 (& bonus 3) out of 8.  A friend got married this year and had requested chibis of her favourite characters.  The wedding was sakura themed and the artwork ultimately use for reception table decor.

Might do a master post with all the chibis together, but for now am going to group by fandoms.

Two things I've realised this year:

1)  I somehow only manage to churn out artwork for holiday cards once every 3-4 years (last time was 2011 with the little snowflake people).  This year was made possible after one of my crazier cases settled unexpectedly during the first week of December. Seized the opportunity, brought my tablet to the office, closed my office door, and churned this out within two business days lol (couldn’t bill the hours spent on it, unfortunately :P). Regardless, while the cards did print nicely (linen card stock aaww yeah /rubs all over face), I’ve concluded after handwriting out almost 60 semi-personalised messages, it's probably a good thing there're so many gap years in between these seasonal endeavours.  @_@

2)  Goldfish/Lotuses (or whatever sort of east asian culturally-significant flower) are somehow my Van Gogh sunflowers.  My default motifs of choice.  And that's kind of nice.
