Covered in dust and movement slow, Heine was not liking having to trek through the forest to getâ well, out. He didnât like itâ however much Lily wouldâve loved to see all the life and play around, he hated it.
Though, that could also be because of the random attackers who seemed to be made of plants themselves. It was annoying, and his nerves were high due to the unfamiliar environment and more than disadvantage he had. Hand-to-hand only went so far when fighting against things that werenât human.
He almost doesnât catch it; a flare of colors, light but distinct to the rest of the location; he already dropped into a combat stance and was ready to rush before he realized it wasnât one of the usual attackers.
âWhat the fuck is this, some sort of game?â
This wasnât just him anymore; there were others. That changed the ballgame.
âI like to think of things more as a dance, personally. You only have to change the pace if things get a little wild, that way.â
Kogitsunemaru had been meandering his way through the forest for days now. Relying mostly on his senses and instinct, he had been able to get by in the strange wood, but not without a few harrowing encounters here and there. Tears and stains littered his clothes and his hair had started to fly wildly out of place: if one didnât know better, one might mistake him for a native--or at least more of a fox than he presented himself to be.
Coming upon this stranger had been happenstance, mostly, though he had heard someone crashing through the brush with relatively little regard for anything that might be around him. He wondered if the man had fared any better than he had, but given the scowl on his face, he doubted it.
âIf Iâm being honest, though, this small fox has no want of falling in step with anyone. Being lost is bad enough as it is. Crossing swords in a strange situation can only make a problem worse, no?â
