So telling that when Skye is shot and dying, it’s May who goes rogue to beat the crap out of Quinn. Not Ward, her SO who blames himself. Not Coulson who sees so much potential in her. Not Fitz who gave her the last Night Night gun to try and protect her. Not Simmons who broke down trying to keep Skye alive during transfer. May. Who at this point has a tense relationship with Skye. And it’s not because May blames herself, she was getting tortured then rescuing Coulson and Ward while Skye was in danger. It’s because May doesn’t know what she will become if something breaks her a second time. Fitz, Simmons, and Skye are often referred to as kids by the rest of the team. They’re young. They’re not used to almost dying yet. May almost lost another child she was trying to protect.

She resisted the urge to grab her phone. She had decided to transfer the files now because she was avoiding the message that she had yet to reply to. If she pretended it didn’t exist, then she didn’t need to make a decision that could turn the life that she had built, after so many losses, upside down. She glanced at her laptop. 55%. She groaned and crossed her arms over her chest, moving them a few times until she found a position where the gauntlets didn’t put pressure on her arms, which was a hard thing to manage. Daisy managed to stay still for about three minutes before she was fidgeting again. One hand reached for her phone that was lying on the counter next to her laptop before she pulled her hand back into her lap. She let out a frustrated noise. She stood up to pace the lab. She had her own little area in the Zephyr, one that was just hers, but the internet speed was faster in the lab. …The lab also reminded Daisy of Fitzsimmons. Some days, it was easier to pretend that all the new faces that stained the lab, a persistent stain, were simply filling in until Fitzsimmons returned. Some days, it was easier to pretend that her found-family was still together.

Fitz who's constantly seeking reassurance (both that he is loved and that the others are safe) loves to be held but occasionally he can do the holding as a little treat. He likes the quick brushing of fingers or shoulders while working, holding hands, pressing knees when sitting. If he's agitated he becomes more insistent, trailing behind and sticking close to them if he can, playing with their fingers, drumming on their legs.

Daisy who is touch starved underneath her mask of wanting to seem tough and self reliant doesn't let herself be held unless she is in a vulnerable enough state (sleeping or just depressed enough) but she doesn't do too much holding either. She'll do reassuring touches like on the arms or back or she'll stand close but just an inch or two away. She likes burying her face in the crook of their necks and feeling arms holding her tight and secure.

Jemma who just wants to be what everyone needs her to be and give them everything she can so she holds them both and if they decide they want to hold her this time she'll let them (she wants them to but they don't). She likes to run her fingers through their hair and rub circles on the skin of their stomachs/chests. She likes to have an arm thrown over her shoulders or be swallowed in hugs

Oh. Actually. Having more context to Maria’s death makes it even more sad. I watched the tiktoks and stuff but. Up There’s a scene where she and Fury are sitting so close together that their shoulders are touching. She HAS so much trust in him and the last face she saw before she died was his. Maria Hill died thinking her best friend (c’mon you can’t tell me they weren’t) killed her.
