“Sadness departs with a prostration (sajdah). Happiness comes with a sincere supplication (du’ā). Allāh does not forget the good you do, nor does He forget the good you did to others and the pain you relieved them from. Nor will He forget the eye which was about to cry but you made it laugh. Live your life with this principle: be good even if you do not receive good; not because of other’s sake but because Allāh loves the good-doers.””
— Ibn Al Qayyim Rahimahullah
Ibn al-Qayyim
He (Shaytan) observes your soul closely to see which trait dominates: courage and determination, or hesitation and weakness.
If he sees that you're timid and hesitant, he makes you lazy, weakens your drive to obey Allāh, and makes the act feel heavy and difficult — until you eventually give it up or do it carelessly.
But if he sees that you're brave and ambitious, he tells you that what you're doing isn’t enough, that you need to do more, exaggerate, and overdo it — until you go beyond the limits.
As one of the early scholars said: "There is no command from Allāh except that the devil tries to drag you one of two ways: either to neglect and fall short, or to go overboard and be extreme — and he does not care which one he gets you with."
[Ighathat al-Lahfan min Masaa'id ash-Shaytan (1/182)]
Al-Awza’i رحمه الله:
"A time will come in which the rarest thing of that era will be a good friend."
[Al-Hilyah; 12995]
Maymun ibn Mihran (رحمه الله):
“A man will not be pious until he holds himself to account more strictly than a partner does his business partner.”
[Siyar Aʿlam al-Nubalaʾ, 5/74]
Beware of being deceived by the intelligence of the people of innovation!
• Al-Dhahabi said in the biography of one of the clever heretics:
"May Allah curse intelligence without faith, and may Allah be pleased with dullness accompanied by piety!"

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
The Quran is complete healing from all diseases, both psychological and physical, and offers protection in this world and the hereafter, but not everyone is qualified or will be successful in seeking healing from it. But if the sick person seeks treatment through the Quran and is able to use Quranic remedies with sincerity, faith, complete acceptance and certainty, fulfilling all the necessary conditions, no diseases will ever stand up to it.
[Zaad al-Ma‘aad, 4/322, Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah)]
Abu Zuhair reported: He said, “O Messenger of Allah, will we be recompensed for every evil thing we did?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “May Allah have mercy on you, O Abu Bakr. Are you not afflicted by harm? Are you not struck by grief? Do you not endure illness? This is how you are recompensed.”
Musnad Aḥmad 72
Ibn Al-Mubārak رحمه الله said:
“To Allāh alone we complain
our loneliness,
the departure of our brothers,
the lack of helpers
and the appearance of innovations!”
[Al-Bid’ah Li Ibn Wadah: 84]
Ibn al-Qayyim
“If Allāh loves His servant, He makes him for Himself, chooses him for His love, and selects him to worship Him. Allāh will let His servant's tongue be busy in remembering Him and his limbs will be busy serving Him.”
[al-Fawā’id | Pg. 158]
Al Ḥasan Al Baṣri (رحمه الله) said,
O son of Adam, how can your heart be softened when your only concern is reaching the end of your surah?
A man came to Hudhaifah (رضي الله عنه) and said:
"I fear that I'm a hypocrite."
He said to him: "Do you pray when you're alone and seek forgiveness when you sin?"
He replied: "Yes."
Hudhaifah said: "Go for Allah has not made you a hypocrite."
[Tarikh Dimashq of Ibn 'Asakir 61/251]
❝ Everything around you is a witness for you when you engage in the remembrance of Allah. The land, the mountains and the ground will testify for you on the day of judgment. Increase those witnesses for yourself for that day. ❞
Al-Wabil al-Sayyib | Ibn Al Qayyim
Islam was perfected on the Day of Arafah over a millennia ago, when the ayah about its perfection was revealed by Allah in 5:3. What wasn't part of Islam then cannot be part of it now.
As such, "progressive" Islam isn't a thing. Y'all are evil deviants at best and kuffar at worst.
The ten days of Dhu’l hijjah are a season of good and mercy;
so let’s strive to do that which Allāh loves
so it may be that we win with His Mercy.
Surely, Allāh’s Mercy is (ever) near unto the good-doers.
"Know you are in the arena of competition, and your time is passing by. Do not recline to laziness.
What was unachieved was unachieved by laziness. And what was achieved was achieved by hard work and effort."
Imam Ibn Jawzi
