@knitandknot
Firstly the charity event went super well! I ended up making more than my goal! The hood has a new home where hopefully it will will be well loved ❤️👍
Next project of course charity blanket, I really want to finish this one in time so I'm knitting for sure 2 rows a week on Sundays I told myself we have to knit 2 but we can stop after that and it is working out well so far.
I'm hoping that if I finish it early I can work on other things besides stuff for work haha I could switch knitting projects but I feel bad when I work on more than one at a time idk 😅
My poster I made for work hopefully we have a successful event!
Since the charity blanket I wanted to try my hand at a hood with ears, it also has a flap you can fold down or up as you see fit! It came out very well! I used left over yarn I was gifted and yard from my stash.
I think it turned it really cute! I seem to only knit things I plan on giving away in some capacity and since the children's charity is coming up I figured I could Raffle the hood!
I attempted to knit a slouchy hat for my friend but I left it out one night and my cats ruined what I had worked on so I am discouraged but I did rewind what bits I could untangle and salvage, I will eventually return to that project.
In the meantime, I figured I'd also start the next year's charity project which will be a blanket again! Since I had already planned that and bought this lovely Halloween theme yarn when it was on sale!
I have 3 of each of these I think it will be really beautiful, I'm going to do it in seed stitch and since last time it was really long and narrow this time I'm only casting on 350 stitches instead of the over 500 I had before! 👍 Hopefully that will be much more balanced. Wish me luck!
after 6 weeks and a brief break for some carpal tomfoolery, the Autorefractor sweater i've been envisioning for like a year is DONE!! this is the first time i've made up a colorwork chart from scratch, so i was holding my breath until the very last stitch, but i couldn't be happier 🥹
for the curious: the base sweater stitch counts are from the Olga by petiteknit, with some modifications to allow for knitting flat/double knit hems. large color fields were worked intarsia, with duplicate stitch detailing.
It’s okay
Pinhole cast on
This cast on allows you to knit in the round starting from the centre without leaving a hole!
Shown here: Square 43: The Lifted One, from my book Learn to Knit in 50 Squares, which introduces this cast on alongside lifted increases
Learn to Knit in 50 Squares includes the squares you will find on this website along with some new ones introducing more exciting and advanc
I'm thinking of knitting little spring baskets as gifts and this is the ideal way to start 🙌🐣🎁💝
That's it finished and dry 😊
Love how the self patterning patterns patterned with my little rainbow bit in the middle 🌈
I've been made aware that all I needed to block this was some water and something to let it rest on so the width is now stretched over both sides of my table waiting to dry! After that it's one final photo and off to the Raffle winner!
It was a pleasure to knit my first ever blanket and share the experience with you guys who followed along ❤️
BEFORE BLOCKING
Sooooooo loooooooooong 😅
I've been away from my spinning wheel for FIVE DAYS I'm getting antsy. I'm getting anxious. Somebody give me some fibre to twist.
fibrecrafts are important because u get the tension out of u by putting it in the project
That makes sense!!
When you’re half-way through a project and realize the stitch count is off
Alright this is the third set of pictures for this couch.
I realized that Tumbler treats a reblog very differently from an original post, At least in terms of tags, So if you want to see me fixing picture 1, Where I fixed a large gash and one of the seat cushions where 1 of the puppies had pulled out to the velvet across the length of the front, Go look up my " the bent needle" tag.
2 is showing the hole. I'm pretty sure that cushion and possibly a button are missing here. The couch is a beautiful tufted? Dark green velvet.
3/4 is showing where I pulled the edges as close as possible to hold in the stuffing. Stuffing was very tempting for puppy to "go back for more".
5 My friend had these lovely patches that I'm sure she purchased on shienmu.... But you get what you can Where you can. I chose one that would cover the repair. I then painstakingly, With a straight upholstery needle, Managed to stitch it in with these little whip stitches that you see here. I did this by Bending in the cushion where the needle needed to go. This is not the first project where I have felt I needed curved needle, but sadly, that is not a thing I own.
6 The very back edge of the patch is actually just tucked in between cushions because I couldn't reach it, But I think it turned out pretty pretty well. And my friend loves the look.
Overall the repairs on this and other sections of the couch took a few days. Not a bad use of time at all.
It wasn't there 😔
I'm not sure if "defect" is the right word. It is living it's life as a pillow. That's like, the dream.
Edit: After a little digging I believe that this species of starfish has a mutation that sometimes occurs, here's a different photo and "biscuit starfish" individual:

couldn't stop thinking about this lil granny square so I crocheted him:
:)
cons of knitting with black yarn: i can't see what i'm doing so my increases are ugly as hell
pros of knitting with black yarn: i can't see what i'm doing so it doesn't matter
So I have this sweater that my grandma knit years (decades) ago from handspun yarn for my grandpa (who has been dead for a while now):
And I LOVE the idea of using/wearing old sentimental pieces, but unfortunately it is just way too big for me to wear. So I finally decided to do something about it and made a cardigan out of it!
I cut up the front and added buttons, then shortened the arms and added new cuffs. Now it fits! Also had to do a little bit of visible mending to fix a few small holes.
I used madder dyed wool (bought) that I stupidly spun up without having a project in mind for it a while ago, and random buttons that I still had laying around, so it doubled as a stash-busting project as well!
I'm really happy with how it turned out and love that I can now wear this piece of my grandparents love ♡
@colorschanging You're gonna love this. (x)
All of these sweaters are excellent
