Always got a sock on the go... even if I hate doing heel flaps on 9 in circulars (and stubbornly refuse to do a short row heel). Also featuring my favorite stitch marker.

So I finished the Hey Bee-Otch mittens by Drunk Girl designs in Baa Ram Ewe Pip Colorwork in Brass Band and Coal.
I took my time for the first mitten, but managed to get the second one out over the course of a day and a couple of evenings. I did shorten the cuffs so that I could make sure i had enough yarn because Pip is 25g balls v the 50g balls of KnitPicks Palette. I do like the yarn and the heathered colors, and i do have yarn for two more pairs of mittens. Hopefully i can get them all done by Christmas.
I'm exhausted, but it's wednesday.
First up is my Hush Chemise from Needles and Artifice (which I'm so glad to finally get to knit!) in Knit Picks Gloss Lace in Hawk because i still want to knit with gray yarn after my summer symphony, apparently. Lmao
Second is the returning contender of my Cocoon Socks in Chromatic Yarns Strong Sock in Rage. I'm on the gusset decreases because short row heels don't really work for me.
Alright, WIP Wednesday, I'm here.
First is my Cocoon socks by Mina Philipp in Chromatic Yarns Strong Sock in Rage. Because i obviously need some good barbarian socks for dnd/ pathfinder reasons.
Second is my Celestarium shawl in Knit Picks Capretta in Navy. Don't be fooled, I'm on the list charts and I'm going with the border in the pattern. I'm so excited to almost have this done- it'll take maybe a week or so to finish it.
And finally is a kit i picked up from lidl. It's so strange to pick up a knitting kit at a grocery store, but so be it!
So, I'm terrible at staying on top of things like this since returning from Rome. But i have a fresh FO and it's Friday! These are my newest pair of Hermione's Everyday socks (pattern by Erica Lueder) in Once Upon a Corgi Penny in "Tell Me to Smile One More Time" (which was a Tit's Out Collective colorway)! I'm so pumped about these socks.
Sometimes, I sew things. A lot of those things are costume or cosplay related and most fail to quite hit the mark. A lot of the time, when using actual patterns (and not just trying to figure it out and abandon it quickly afterwards), I tend to just go off of my measurements v the suggested size (instead of sizing to the finished garment). So, in this case, I decided to do a mockup for Simplicity 8431, or DC Bombshells' Black Canary (not that she's my favorite DC comics lady, nor is her Bombshells outfit my favorite, as both of those spots very strongly belong to Catwoman). I do have to do different sizes for the top and skirt, so I cut them out to an 18 and 20, with the expectation to have to alter something somewhere. Well... the top (mostly) fits. I'm not too fussy about finishing techniques or interfacing (as this was just a muslin), and I'm content with the fit on everything... except the sleeve band. It's almost far too tight, as it's uncomfortable on my arms and doesn't allow for the sleeves to actually move on my arms. :T thankfully, I believe adding about an inch (maybe an 1.5") to the sleeve band will solve that problem, which might take down some of the sleeve poof (which i wouldn't mind in the grand scheme of things, honestly). also, the seam connecting the top of the blouse to the midriff sections is making it sit weird, but that's not the major problem here right now. I was, of course, fitting it to how it will actually be worn, but it's also nice to know that i can fit a thin top under for modesty if i get too uncomfortable at a con or something. I mostly just left my tanktop on for modesty's sake here.
It's massive, and done just in time for me to cross the atlantic! I started this shawl after seeing some gorgeous, fluffy orenburg shawls and decided that i needed something like it for the winter time while I'm at school cause i hate too many layers and get cold easily. I had to put a pause on it because i lost access to the charts on my laptop, and when I found out that i was going to be visiting Rome(!!), and would need something to cover up in the Vatican, i knew i needed to get it done. So it's done right as we get out the door for the airport. I'll see you in a week! Bye!
One day, I will finish these things. One day. Kinda Magic Sock 1 is actually almost done. I just need to finish the toe. The fit is ok, but not the best. Annnnnd with my Summer Symphony Shawl, I have entered the final charts. Huzzah!
Well, it's Wednesday and I have WIPS! And crappy lighting! First up is my lone Kinda Magic sock. It just needs a toe and I've been lazy. 🤷 The color is Cool Cat Copper and also i had to wind off a decent amount of the leopard print yarn because my feets are small. (Also, i found the pattern and going rogue is better if you know how you like your socks. But that gauge makes me sad.) Annnnnd the returning monstrosity aka my Summer Symphony Shawl, spread out on my bed because it's about 65" wide and it only occured to me recently to do this. I'm more than 2/3 of the way to completion so idk man, we'll see.
It's Wednesday, so have some WIPS. I've not made a ton of progress on my Summer Symphony Shawl, but it's grown some. But i do have most of a Kinda Magic Sock by Wool and The Gang and Regia in the Cool Cat Copper colorway. I'm mostly following the pattern, which I've lost. Whoops. Good news is i know how to knit socks. 😂 i hate the gauge at which they are at, so that's a thing, but i like the yarn so there's that.
It is WIP Wednesday once more and I come bearing progress. 1) is an almost finished Regia Pairfect sock. I will probably have to rip out the toe once more, but we will see this weekend. Colorway is an Arne & Carlos design line in Forest; 68 st on US 1 needles, German short row heel. 2) is a new cast on with new hand spun. The yarn is a chain plied 75/25 BFL/Tussah Silk from Into the Whirled in the Fen colorway. It's not my best yarn and i only used about half the fiber, so we're just seeing what happens right now. It is my first chain plied yarn, and I'm quite impressed with the outcome! 3) well, here's my Summer Symphony shawl. I've been working on getting around 20 rows/day and the progress has been staggering. As in ~7.5-8" of progress. By end of day today, I'll not only surpass halfway through the charts, but also halfway through the row count. (The second set of charts ends just before the midpoint of the actual row count.) It is giant, fuzzy, warm, and a cat-favorite. (No joke, they love to sleep on it. Little dofuses.)
Oh look, it's WIP Wednesday! Returning is my Summer Symphony Shawl. Details are in previous posts, and I've gotten roughly 2.5-3 inches since last time I posted a picture of it. A cat keeps sleeping on it so my progress isn't as great as I want. But as long as i get ~10 or so rows in a day, I'll finish on time for what i want. I'm joking that it is my giant grey monstrosity as I'm only 1/4 of the way through the rows and charts. It's a giant shawl. 😂 New is the start of a pair of Regia Pairfect socks for my SO. The color is Forest from the Arne & Carlos design line. This is only sock 1, and it's a simple vanilla sock with 68 st and 30 rows of ribbing. I literally started it yesterday, but like everyone says: self-patterning and striping socks just fly. Especially on 9 inch circulars!
I made another one with some black scales i had ordered and the leftover bronze from my Elven-style bag.
I don’t actually need a new dice bag, but this is making me feel incredibly clever.
Pattern is Scale Mail Pouch by CraftyMutt. Yarn is KnitPicks Wool of the Andes in Dove Heather. The scales are from The Ring Lord and are the small bronze and champagne anodized aluminum.
I just need to find a drawstring for it outta my ribbon stash, but my dice bag (aka the Dragonscale Bag of Holding) is done and can hold my 5 sets of dice.

To make up for a lack of WIP Wednesday post this week (I was busy playing God of War and only really worked on these socks), I present a FO for FO Friday! At last, my Ravenclaw socks are done! Pattern: Nesting Socks by Mina Philipp - I put in an Eye of Partridge heel flap & gusset and used a contrast for heels, toes, and cuffs, but those are the only alterations I made. Yarn: Knitted Wit Victory Sock in Bird Nerd and Yellow Brick Road.
WIP Wednesday! Details for both are in my last post. Ravenclaw socks are now past the gusset. Not long now until new socks! Huzzah! Also! My giant fluffy shawl has about 3 or so inches of progress since last week, meaning I've started the second set of charts! Huzzah! Progress is from the stitch marker. Having a visual aid really helps me see how much progress I've made and is a huge help in my motivation.
