I had a weird dream. It was like I was watching a Re-animator movie.
(Short-haired) Dan was talking with his boss, who was passive aggressively criticizing him, while Dan's girlfriend (for some reason I just knew that she was reanimated, even though she did not appear to be - pale skin and gore missing) and Herbert stood behind Dan. They kept chiming in, even though the conversation was between Dan and his boss, which clearly was annoying and distracting Dan. He held up a hand, which caused his girlfriend to immediately stop talking and lower her head. Herbert did not stop, though. I thought Dan was about to hit him, but instead he just hovered his hand over Herbert's head, who finally stopped talking to look at Dan like, really?
Dan's boss ended up asking Dan what he was doing, to which Dan responded, "I have some unruly subordinates."
"Don't I know the feeling," Dan's boss said in return, frowning at Dan, who had his back turned, focused on Herbert.
Then Herbert grabbed Dan's hand from above his head and took Dan's boss by the wrist. He held the hands side by side, comparing them. Dan pulled his hand away, which prompted Herbert to release the boss' hand as well. The boss found it weird, but shrugged it off and started to walk off (he didn't go far), still talking to Dan, who was obviously getting more annoyed with Herbert.
Herbert looked as if he was about to say something, but Dan stopped him. Then they started quietly arguing, unbeknownst to the boss, who was still talking and facing away from them. Then Dan made this quick hand movement (I honestly don't know what happened). He brought his hands up to both sides of Herbert's face and removed Herbert's head from his body (Herbert was freaking reanimated and had a detachable head, which Dan exploited as a way to establish authority). He placed Herbert's frowning head on the chair they were standing by, and started maniacally laughing (surprisingly the boss didn't seem to notice, or care). Dan turned to Herbert's body and began to pull at the belt holding up Herbert's trousers and undo the buttons on Herbert's shirt. Herbert glanced at Dan's boss whose back was to them still before looking back towards Dan and mouthing for Dan to stop undressing him, but Dan kept laughing and kept unbuttoning Herbert's shirt.
"All You Need is Love" by the Beatles started playing and we cut to the attic (why the attic and not there basement? I don't know. Maybe the basement was full), where a reanimated experiment, whose head was disproportionately smaller than his body, started dancing (the music was not coming from the attic - the corpse could just hear it).
Then we cut back to downstairs. The boss was gone and everyone was in different clothing. The girlfriend was in lingerie, sitting on the arm of a chair, while Herbert was sitting on the sofa adjacent to her, wearing a yellow sweater, and Dan was standing behind the sofa in a red sweater (ketchup and mustard coded Danbert). The song was still playing, and Dan leaned over the sofa's back, towards Herbert, who leaned back and slightly turned his body to face Dan. And then they were kissing (and I was freaking out, trying to figure out which Re-animator movie this was so that I could re-watch it again and again).
Then someone lifted the tone arm on a record player and "All You Need is Love" cut off. Dan and Herbert quickly pulled apart to look at who was interrupting them...
And then I woke up before the reveal, and the first thing I thought was dammit that was a dream, not an actual Re-animator movie that I had yet to see.
