Help finding a Star Wars Fic
It’s about Anakin and Obi wan on the run after order 66 with Luke and Leia
I remember Anakin having some sort of cuffs or force dampeners on because Obi wan doesn’t trust him. I think Anakin might still have yellow eyes?
I don’t remember that much. I think there may be a scene with a storm and a tree falls and Anakin wants Obi wan to take off the dampeners so he can help
Im just thinking again about how dean and sam remember certain events or dates with polar opposite emotions attached.
The time Sam ran away from home for a week and had a dog and it was the best week of his life, because he was free and could do what he wanted when he wanted and could do normal things instead of hunting things and he has no one telling him what to do and he was free.... versus Dean, who's little brother (who he was meant to look after and watch over and raise) went missing one night and didn't show back up for a week, and dean spent that entire week in a state of panic and desperation and fear, and then there's the infamous line, "and when dad got home...." and we dont know exactly what went down when John found Sammy missing, but we know it was bad.
And then, another example: "This... this is the night you left for Stanford? [Bitter, broken laughter] This is one of the worst nights of my life."
Again, same event, but wildly different emotions attached to it.
Sam's emotions are excitement and joy and eagerness and overwhelming all consuming happiness that he's on his way to college - he's leaving hunting and he got into a great college and he's gonna be normal, and he can't wait. No more hunts, no more injuries, no more back-seat first aid, no more murder, no more guns and knives. He can use salt as a condiment instead of a tool. Hes thrilled.
Dean, though?? Is watching the splintering of his family for the second time in his life. The little brother who is his whole entire world -- the little brother he raised, practically single-handedly -- is leaving, and isn't so much as looking over his shoulder as he goes. And we know that from there, Dean and John started hunting together less and less, and by the time Dean comes to pick up Sam to look for their dad, Dean's been hunting on his own for years. So he looses Sam that night, but you know he also lost John. What little of John he still had, at least, when the guy is in the running for Qorst Father Of All Time.
Sam remembers leaving for college and its all great, fantastic, exciting. Dean remembers Sam leaving for college and its devastating, heartbreaking, the second-worst night of his life.
And the thing is - neither of them is wrong for feeling the way they do about those memories.
Sure, kid-Sam running away was inadvisable and inconsiderate, but a) he was a child and didnt fully comprehend the impact it would have on the people around him -- didnt know for years, in fact; he finds out the impact it had on Dean the same day that Dean finds out its one of Sam's fondest memories -- and b) he wasn't wrong to want to be normal and to want to live away from John's oppressive presence and etc. And Dean obviously wasn't wrong for being terrified and worried and desperate to find Sam and bring him home, either.
And re Stanford: Dean's devastation and distress at Sam leaving isnt wrong, same as Sam's elation and excitement at leaving isnt wrong. Theyre both totally justified in their emotions over that event.
But I do find it really interesting that neither of them knew about the others feelings for either event. Dean had no idea that Sam had the time of his life that week, or that leaving for College was one of the best nights of Sam's life. Sam had no idea that dean spent that week terrified out of his mind for his little brother, or that his leaving for college was second only to the night Mary died in terms of Worst Night Ever.
And I feel like it's a really good subtle example of how little they knew each other, even then. They think they know each other inside out, but the disparity caused by Dean being the one to raise Sam, instead of simply being able to be his brother, means that there's so much that they dont know about each other, even after 4 or 5 years hunting together, even after everything they've been through together.
Dean doesn't know or understand the depths of Sam's desire to get out. Sam doesn't know or understand how much Dean worried about him or that Dean's literal entire world revolved around Sam.
Had they been able to grow up as simply brothers, instead of parent-and-child, those disparities wouldn't be there. They'd know each other better. Sam might have expressed to Dean how much he wanted to get out, and Dean might have listened and understood. Dean's whole identity and personality wouldn't have been built around raising and caring for Sam, and he wouldn't have been so utterly devastated and bereft at Sam's departure.
Dark Side of the Moon is a fantastic episode for character analysis of these two. And yeah, sure, its entirely possible that the memories in question were hand picked to cause as much division between the brothers as possible - ive seen that theory and it absolutely has merit. But the memories were real, and the emotions attached to them were real. And they do a great job of highlighting the different perspectives that Dean and Sam have of the same events.
A Real, Legitimate Summary of the Teen Wolf Movie's Plot:
(I'm not joking, but you're going to think I am)
also, spoilers obviously...
Scott McCall works as a rescue dog saving victims from building collapses in LA
Mr. Harris, the long DEAD biology teacher for school somehow magically comes back from the dead and decides to get his revenge on Scott
Mr. Harris flies to Japan and robs a ramen shop that Liam & Fake-Kira Hikari own, because they decide to keep the nogitsune locked in a spice jar on a spice rack
The nogitsune brings Allison back to life, who has been dead for 15 years, and uses the oni to kidnap everybody to hold them hostage in a magic spirit realm located underneath the lacrosse field while scott & eli play a lacrosse game
The nogitsune's plan is to make the entire pack watch Allison shoot Scott in the heart and kill him, so that everybody will be sad and he can drink their sadness to become more powerful
Scott pretends to die, so the Nogitsune gets made and turns into a WEREWOLF-NOGITSUNE HYBRID MONSTER and attacks
The pack decides that the only way to kill the nogitsune (even tho the nogitsune was previously established to literally be unkillable) is to have Parrish hug him and set him on fire to death
For some reason, the werewolf-nogitsune hybrid monster won't stand still to die, so derek decides to literally SACRIFICE HIMSELF by holding down the werewolf-nogitusne and letting Parrish burn BOTH derek and the nogitsune to death
Derek literally burns himself to death right in front of eli and orphans him
Scott and Allison decide to adopt Eli and run a dog shelter in LA
The End.
(no, i'm not joking.....this actually happened. this was the movie. some of the worst fanfiction that I ever read watched in my life)
P.S the only good part of this really bad fanfic movie is that for the whole movie derek keeps saying that he hates stiles' jeep (and he doesn't explain why) and then at the end of the movie at derek's funeral, sheriff stilinski gives Eli the jeep and says that derek secretly didn't hate the jeep.
then he explains that after Stiles left it behind, Derek towed it back to his auto shop (because derek is a mechanic now btw????) and fixed up stiles' jeep literally so he could keep it for himself. and I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be some metaphor for derek not realizing he's in love with stiles until after stiles moves away and now all that he has left is the jeep????
so, canon!sterek yay!
Well fuck
I'm sure all ex-Robins that were introduced to the Justice League have their "Robin" voice. The voice that says, "I'm overwhelmed and a very very small child, please come help me," to anyone that knew them as Robins. If you ask any JLA member their ages, none of them will say anything over 20 (Dick) or 15 (Tim and Jason)
Like imagine you're a random Rogue, new to the scene, and you've somehow managed to get Nightwing backed against a wall. Then this twenty-something year old, lethal, GROWN MAN, yells, "I NEED AN ADULT!" at the top of his lungs and goddamn Superman comes out of the fucking aether and kicks your ass.
Jason absolutely weaponizes it too. Like he died at fifteen, but he's always going to be thirteen to the Justice League. He's uncomfortable at a function and asks Bruce, "get me out of here?" with a soft voice and Bruce immediately complies. He makes a sad face at Hal so he can have the last cupcake and Hal hates that it always works.
Tim just cries. He gives absolutely zero fucks that it's blatant emotional manipulation, he does a sad little sniff and immediately he's being fawned over—what's wrong? Who hurt you? What do you need? Do you need help? Tim decided that if he's going to be treated like a kid, he may as well reap the benefits, and points them in the direction of whichever villain/Rogue that's annoying him the most at the time.
Damian despises how he's worried about as Robin and doesn't get how useful just Being A Kid is sometimes.
i like the idea that bruce just shows up to league meetings with his birds with absolutely no explanation offered
i mean this man frequently stalks his coworkers and knows everything that's happening in their personal lives and i think he'd forget that HE is the weird one for doing it and not everybody automatically knows when he's acquired a new child
so he just shows up at the watchtower with a new bird and literally says nothing about it . just sits at his chair with the latest robin standing next to him and literally doesn't acknowledge that anything is different and it gets even more confusing when they change their costumes and names 😭

It’s like Nightwing’s gloves malfunction
And the Bruce like panic builds new gloves and everyone tries to get him to try them on
How Morpheus’s imprisonment worked
I know that there are people watching The Sandman who aren’t well versed in things arcane so I’ll provide a little explanation on how Morpheus’s captivity worked.
1. Morpheus was weak. Morpheus was badly weakened from the events of The Sandman: Overture. That’s why the summoning spell was able to grab him when it probably should have fizzled out and failed. Imagine being very dizzy after spinning around and someone gives you a light push. Usually you can stay up right from that light push but he fell because of his weakened state.
2. The binding circle. A magical binding circle is how you hold a supernatural entity. In the TV show Supernatural the concept is used in their “Devil’s snare.” Sometimes the lore is you have to concentrate for the circle to work (See: The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher). Sometimes that’s not needed. In any event once you have a magical entity in the circle they cannot use their powers or leave until the circle is broken and only a mortal (or the one who made the circle) can break it.
This means Morpheus’s usual psychic link with his subjects (Example: Matthew feeling him in the back of his mind) is severed. He cannot use his powers, he cannot reach into people’s dreams, and he cannot psychically call to his subjects.
3. The glass cage. This is sort of a redundancy but not really. While the circle holds back his powers, the cage is an extra precaution in case the circle breaks because it physically contains him. Part of the reason the glass cage works is it is made of quartz crystal (not mentioned in the show). Quartz crystal can contain magick and is used a lot in occult rituals. Quartz is also made from silica (which is what sand is made of) that has been transformed into something else. Yes, The Sandman is being held by sand. There’s an irony to this. It’s also very thick glass and difficult to break even if he jumped up and down or bashed his fists against it (as you can see from Roderick banging his cane against it).
4. This part is potentially debatable. Roderick states that he captured him and bound him “by the laws of Magick.” (This is said in the show). According to traditional folk belief that means Roderick technically “owned” Morpheus (Yes, like a slave) and that only he or his rightful heir or anyone he gives Morpheus to can free him (like Calliope). Yes, Alex inherited him like property (as far as magical beings are concerned and how they see it). This is why it was a good thing that it was Alex’s wheelchair wheel that breached the circle in both the show and comic. Also, in the comic, it was Paul who opened the cage after Morpheus stole some sand from the guard’s dream and pretended to collapse in his cage. As Alex had given Paul that key, that meant that Paul was also his captor, besides Alex.
For Morpheus to escape both the binding circle and cage had to be opened by a mortal (And probably specifically his owners). When the circle was broken he could again use his powers, that’s how he entered the guard’s dream to pilfer some sand. He did this psychically while his body was still stuck in place because of the glass cage. Once the cage was destroyed that’s when he could leave.
Disclaimer: This is not a list of tips on how to best contain your captive Dreamlord.
Hello Mr Gaiman! I ended the season with a question in my mind: (SPOILER) if the Endless can't have relations with humans, how can Desire have a daughter with Unity? Or Desire just doesn't care about these rules?
Oh, they can. It just ends in disaster. (And it's not "humans" -- it's "mortals". There's a fine but crucial difference.)
It’s the emphasis on “mortals” for me
Gotta give Tom Sturridge credit for doing a hell of an acting job in the premiere when his job is to give a convincing hour-long performance while 1) mute, 2) naked, 3) in a fishbowl
my favorite thing about klaus is how inadvertently useful he is. he’s not even trying to help out or be a team player, yet he ends up being the 2nd most productive sibling in getting shit done. luther and diego run around acting like headless chickens constantly, and klaus just walks on screen looking like he just came back from hell (which isn’t far off from the truth) like “hey, here’s an extremely vital piece of information you guys have spent the past 3 episodes looking for—i’m gonna get wasted now.”
The seasons so far.....
Season 1: SHUT UP ABOUT THE MOON
Season 2: SHUT UP ABOUT JFK
Season 3: SHUT UP ABOUT CLAIRE AND RAY
Those dame memes about Allison being next came true. Klaus start running bro.
Something i think that the subtitles really don’t do justice to is how frequently Wilhelm is referred to as the prince. Specifically by teachers and his bodyguards. The subtitles often have people refer to Wilhelm as sir quite a bit, but they never actually use that in the show...
For example
In swedish Mr Englund says "prinsen missada ju tyvärr det här provet. Men det kan han ju ta igen vid tillfälle" which means "the prince sadly missed this test. But he can take it again on occasion", notably both referring to Wilhelm as a prince and in the third person.
Anette does the same thing here. In swedish the line is, " Vi har ordnat ett lite större rum till kronprinsen" which is "we have arranged a slightly bigger room for the crown prince". Referring to him with his title and in third person.
Here are just some more examples. August actually says "Swear, crown prince, to, in accordance to the interest of the Society, (...)" and Malin's line is “i just want to let the crown prince know, that breakfast is ending in five minutes”
Wilhelm is constantly spoken to in the third person by the teachers and staff (and August when they were being formal for the initiation into the Society). It is a very deliberate choice, and it boggles my mind that they changed it in the subtitles. I can't figure out what the point is.
The dub says it correctly, and thus the captions for the dub does as well, which only makes it stranger that they decided to change it in the subtitles. Saying "sir" is not at all equivalent to saying "prince" or "crown prince", it is a whole different title.
The fact that they keep calling him prince/crown prince is important. His role/title is constantly being reinforced by everyone around him, despite how much Wilhelm hates it. Furthermore, the teachers seem like they are not allowed to refer to him any other way.
Here, Anette first refers to him as Wilhelm, as she would any other student, then literally apologises and uses his title instead. She does care about him and wants to provide comfort, but she is bound by the rules of formality.
Another note: Translating "kronprinsen" to "your royal highness" here works fine. even if it isn't the literal translation, it is still is his proper title as opposed to "sir" which is just wrong. Though saying "your royal highness" instead of "crown prince" does miss the point that Wilhelm's title has changed; from prince to crown prince. As well as how wrong that probably feels for Wilhelm. Crown prince was Erik's title, yet everyone now refers to him that way.
What I don't understand is why they would change the subtitles to "sir". It doesn't make sense, nothing is gained from the change other than a loss of context.
Thinking about how much hope Chiron probably had for Luke. I mean living in the demigod world and surviving to 19 (even after going on quests??) Chiron was probably talking to Luke about college and telling him about how great of an example he’ll be to the younger campers he’d be “the demigod that lived!” A symbol of hope for all the young scared campers who were told they probably wouldn’t live to see adulthood.
The betrayal probably hit Chiron worse than anyone not only did he have to see the boy he practically raised and cared for his entire teenage years betray him, his family, and the camp but he also had to deal with all the young campers who looked up to Luke and saw him as a big brother and symbol of success in the demigod world Chiron had to see their hearts break or see them die in battle because they joined a losing cause. But they joined that cause because they trusted Luke because Chiron told them that they could trust Luke, that Luke was safe and that he’d never do anything to hurt them. But he was wrong and nothing Chiron could ever do will make up for the lives lost to the boy who he thought could be trusted more than anyone.
Chiron sits up awake at night wondering if it was all his fault. Did he put too much pressure on Luke? Was it obvious all along and he just didn’t see it? Did he not do enough to protect Luke from the dark side of the world? The little boy who came to camp at fourteen who made friends with all the campers and taught classes and led camp fire songs what went wrong? What did he do wrong?
Does he look at Percy and even at Annabeth and all he feels is fear? Fear that he put too much pressure on them and that they’re going to turn just like Luke did?
I thought I had run out of new ways the Percy jackson series could hurt me

so my sister and I watched the ring, and I want to know if the puppy pack watched the ring / any horror movie really bc they're not scared of it but it's just fun to point out the plotholes and other shit.
but I want to know if they watched the ring how triggering it would be for Theo... bc I mean the ring girls look just like Tara from hell, and the puppy pack must likely wouldn't know that, they know what happened but not what she looked like, and I really want a fic with that happening.
