I made a post a while back about the backstories of Jason Blood and thought I'd dive in on Etrigan. And holy mother of god!!! In the good way. Warning: Mention of child abuse in a way.
Earth 0: A demon...I know for a fact that he had a different backstory. But I can't find it.
New Earth: Buckle the fuck in. Cause this one is questionable and fun.
Belial and Ran Van Daath. Were having a war and did what anyone in war does. Have sex on top of the dead bodies. That's right. Like every good ruler. Etrigan was born and umm... loves pain. He gets off on it. He was such a handful that Lucifer asked for Belial to beat him. That didn't work. So he got rid of his mother to make Etrigan upset. They have a good relationship, him and his mother... I think?
Growing to hate his father he tricked Belial into mating with a goat. Producing a son. His name is Scape Goat and he loves Etrigan. Despite everything. I want to hug Scape Goat! Belial pissed goes to Earth for decades and returns with baby Merlin. Merlin was created for one reason. TO DEFEAT ETRIGAN! That's it.
Here's the kicker. Etrigan was summoned by Merlin to help save Camelot. And Etrigan didn't argue from my knowledge. Merlin used that timing to bond him to Jason Blood.
Prime Earth: Etrigan was the first demon to be born in Hell with no memory nor desire for Heaven.
That's it. He works for Lucifer. Oh and he forced Madame Xanadu to date him. Which just feels out of character while in character and I don't know how to feel about it.
