Hi! I have no idea if this blog is still active or not but, I wanted to say thanks for archiving all of the Sega Hard Girls stuff. I've been a big fan of them ever since the show first aired all those years ago. Mega Drive is my favorite too. It's really good to know that there's another fan in the west who's super into them, I feel like there aren't very many. I have had that SHG sideblog for yEARS I don't know why it took me this long to notice all of your posts but I love them and all the work you put in!
I have MD's figure, keychain, and a custom cosplay of her. She's such a relatable character to me even after all this time. I hope we get another chance for the girls to come back one day!
yeah, i don't really use Tumblr anymore because i've lost interest in anything beyond my archival work (that's all posted on Twitter now) but i did get an e-mail about your message.
i greatly appreciate your support for all that SHG content i archived back then, the series was what started my interest in Game Preservation. and without it, larger projects i've worked on like the story of Nintendo's first official emulator developer Tomohiro Kawasae and figuring out Goldeneye was intended to be included in Rare Replay years before it was officially added. would likely have never happened.
Mega Drive was a major figure in shaping that interest, i felt a genuine connection seeing her due to the historical interest we shared, and while i eventually realized that connection wasn't romantic in nature (both of the fictional girls, and the fictional guy, i truly fell in love with i ended up losing because of how poorly they were treated by their creators, which is one of the main factors why i solely focus on archival work currently.) she's still a highly important person to me.
