✨️ It's renfaire season again ✨️
Also, prop weapons at MD??? I saw a rule saying no to ALL but I'm in disbelief
Unfortunately, yes. No foam swords, larp weaponry, prop weapons, wooden weapons, nothing. If you bring it, they will stop you at the gates and ask you to put it back in your car. If you have nowhere to stash your weapon, they might be willing to let you keep it at the main entrance and return for it later, but I wouldn't count on it.
The only weapons allowed inside the Maryland Renaissance Festival are wooden weapons bought from the shops inside of the faire. Their worry is even with prop weapons that people may modify them. This exception is also fairly new, so I wouldn't be surprised if they turned you away regardless of the weapon.
Howdy hi, I'm going to the MD renn fair for the first time since being a wee one and would love quick, cheaper-end (i plan to invest more over time) costume advice - trying to shop small rather than Amazon but shipping time is important. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thrifting is most likely going to be your best bet. There's tons of youtube videos about how to thrift for the renfaire, so I'd look at those for some inspo. Thrifted stuff can easily be replaced with better items as time goes on. It's also a good way to cut down on the consumerism of places like Amazon.
Most things labeled medieval or renaissance online, even from small businesses, are going to be more expensive.

I made some little sculpey trinkets to give/trade people at the Rennaisance Faire this weekend! Im so excited!
Im also finished sewing my outfit :)
I can't believe I officially go live as Street Cast tomorrow
Panicking because I’m going to my first Ren Faire this weekend and I want to wear a cute flower or ribbon hairstyle/headband/hairpiece and have no idea how to acquire or make this so last minute
Momo Obrien has you covered, quick and easy flower crown to make last minute.
I also recommend checking your local dollar store. The last time I was in Dollar General, they had some flowery headpieces in their halloween section. They also have very cheap fake flowers.

here's me from the NY Ren Faire this past Sunday
Went as Jester Lavorre from The Mighty Nein to the PA Ren Faire! 🍭💗 I love Jester with my whole heart <33
Renaissance Faire in my black and blue witchy outfit and my wonderful boyfriend as Gale. Went with some friends. Jeremy’s Gale outfit got SO many shoutouts, found an Elminster and another BG3 group and took pictures. Was a lot of fun.
