Yes in that he currently has a bullet in his left thigh and the pain of it sears though him in a way that he feels it radiating across his scalp, down his spine. Sort of makes him shudder. No in that it's still somewhat manageable and he is still conscious.

It looks like he's forcing his jaw to part, slightly, and he's breathing steadily through his mouth that way, not to grind his teeth down to nubs.

a crease settles in his brow, seemingly offended by a perfectly reasonable rhetorical question. pointedly, he gives a once over as if judging whether or not bucky really does visibly belong beneath the streets; he gives a thoughtful hum. "the sewers are reliable," kurjak offers, just because. "yes. i need you." a pause. "three weeks from now. in varna," without any further explanation, he waits expectantly, like it's a mild request. i need you in bulgaria nearly a month from now, are you available?

canon in-progress things for kurjak are learning french and also learning the harp

for french he's gotten Decent at understanding / discerning some things, but a fast fluent speaker will likely lose him. he is Much better at reading it and can use context clues well enough when there is text he doesn't understand which also helps him with his learning. his sentences are intermediate but he needs more practice with it re: processing it and replying. this is a Much longer process for him as, while despite being introverted he Does make more attempt at conversation in french when in an applicable situation, he still Is Not in that situation often and also just doesn't converse much if not needed

the harp is very much a fascination for him Particularly in the tactile sense. reminder that he works with his hands often and eagerly and is grounded by and usually far more expressive with touch. on top of liking the sound he Very much likes the visual of plucking the strings with such care and it seems very satisfying and meditative to him in the same way he crafts little scrap sculptures or performs maintenance on his prosthetic. it's something for the self To Him and would be in contrast to his playing the theremin which, yes, you are using your hand but obviously without touch, but very much the same focus on one's own careful and precise motions. he has gotten his hands on a lyre harp but he is Harp Shopping in the back of his mind at the present for a lap harp or perhaps a grand pedal harp, the latter of which will be kept at his zagreb cabin most likely
