What the Mercs are like on their Birthdays
I donât think this has been done before, and I thought it would be fun, so here we go! I got the idea for Scoutâs birthday from Scooty Got Dat Booty. I also wanted to thank Cybercthulhu for their nice messages :)
Scout April 20th, 1949. Youâll know Scoutâs birthday is coming up, from the first day of April. Every chance he gets, heâs talking about it. Doesnât matter who you are, Scout expects a gift. He usually plans surprise parties for himself, which defeats the purpose, but he doesnât care.Â
Soldier May 3rd, 1930. Solly celebrates his birthday every year, but itâs usually not anything big. Most likely, heâll just demand someone make him a cake (if Demo hasnât already), and the others might be slightly more willing to listen to one of his lectures on American history.Â
Pyro ???. No one knows Pyroâs birthday, but some random day  (that changes every year), Pyro will mumble something that sounds vaguely like birthday and the others will be guilted into throwing them a party by Pyroâs cheerful nature and excitement at getting older. Pyro always throws little birthday parties for Balloonicorn, as well.Â
Heavy July 10th, 1932. Birthdays were always a big deal in Heavyâs family, and so on his and othersâ birthday, he makes a big deal about it. Growing old is somewhat frightening to Heavy, but heâs so excited by birthdays and everything that go along with them that he doesnât even notice. Since Medic has his birthday written in his medical charts, he always makes sure that the others wish Heavy a happy birthday with the penalty of no medigun for them next battle.Â
Engineer September 20th, 1933. Doesnât like to make a big deal about his birthday, but everyone else does. Since Engieâs the glue that holds the team together, they do their best to show their gratitude on his birthday. Although it may be sort of small, the team always throws him a party, and Engie always gets choked up on the fact that they actually remember his birthday.Â
Demoman January 3rd, 1930. Uses his birthday as another excuse to get drunk. Heâs never thought much of birthdays, especially his, and so the thought of having a party or cake or presents seems ridiculous to him. Solly usually ends up throwing him one anyways. Every year since he turned thirty, heâs gone through an alcohol-induced questioning of his life choices.Â
Medic September 29th, 1919. Medic hates the fact that heâs getting older. Heâs very aware that heâs the oldest person on the team and already in his fifties, and he doesnât like it. However, if you ignore the aging part of his birthday and just focus on the celebration aspect, Medic loves it. Heâs also always touched by the fact that Heavy remembers his birthday every year, no matter how stressful the current battles are.Â
Sniper January 23rd, 1936. Sniper hates his birthday. He hates getting older, he hates everyone feeling like they have to talk to him, but most of all, he hates being the center of attention. If Sniper could take his birthday off of his medical form for Medic, he would. The only one who seems to understand his frustration with his birthday, is Spy and occasionally Demo.Â
Spy June 10th, 1943. Spy didnât put his real birthday down on his medical form when his agency sent him to work at Tuefort. He wrote a completely different date and tacked on a few years to his life. Spy doesnât tell anyone when his birthday comes around, and he never tells anyone how old he actually is. Although he might treat himself to buying a new suit or going into Tuefort to buy a drink, he barely does much for his birthday except get more grumpy than usual around it.Â
