âi donât know what iâm expecting,â allie admitted, smile now covering her whole face. âi would love to see giant versions of a little kidâs rock collection, maybe some quartz, and fossils do sound pretty cool.â she would follow erin anywhere in the museum, truthfully, but she did like that the other seemed to be heading towards the exhibit she wanted to see first. âi donât know a lot about dinosaurs, but i do think theyâre cool. i donât know about anything science related, really.â she admitted, not like it was a fault (because sheâd never admit her faults) but just like it was the truth. âi watched friends and hated ross so much that i never wanted to learn about dinosaurs. they donât deserve my hatred. do you have anything cool to tell me about them?â she asked, then her eyes widened as they rounded the corner into a room with huge fossils everywhere. âitâs kinda weird seeing this place so empty. i guess no one else wanted a free museum visit.â
the more allie spoke, the more erin felt like she was relaxing into the night. she made a mental reminder to thank olivia a thousand times for dragging her along to this stupid event. âyouâre in luck,â erin began, glancing over at allie and feeling a smile wiggling its way to her lips. âi happen to know this museum has all of the things youâre looking for. how dream like.â erin laughed for a moment, catching the reference even though she had never seen the show before. erin loathed all things âpopularâ whenever it came to her peers. friends and the office were dead to her. âi blame the top shelf alcohol and,â erin paused for a moment, turning to face allie as they approached the first exhibit. âyour fantastic party planning skills. i donât need to see the rubric. iâm pretty sure you nailed it.â her eyes lingered for a moment on allie, shaking her head to physically shake herself away from staring at the girl. âi uh-â she began, glancing before them as she saw the dinosaur exhibit before them. she didnât even need the information card as she nodded towards the bones before them. âpsittacosaurus. it sounds all fancy, i know, but it literally means parrot lizard,â erin started, taking a break from her words to take a swig from her glass. in actuality, she was trying to figure out if rambling off facts about the fossils before them was the best course of action in the moment. âitâs a cousin of the triceratops and was actually named by the same old dude that named the t. rex.â
riawritcsâ:
âyeah, it was.â max agreed, putting on a small smile. truth be told he was still adjusting to the break up, still adjusting to the idea of not being with ruthie. âyeah, i guess we should get used to it, hun?â he said with a light laugh. when she leaned forward to kiss him, for a second he didnât even think much of it. it was such a habit that it felt normal, routine. and it was only after that second that he closed his eyes in realisation of reality. âno, itâs okay. i⊠this is so new. and lets just admit it, neither of us knows how to handle this.â he sheepishly chuckled.
âhandling it is the last... thing i know how to do,â ruthie explained, her voice shaking from the embarrassment and nerves coursing through her body. ever since the break-up, she had been logging far more hours at the floral shop, and picking up a lot more responsibility. her fingers had never been covered in so many prick points from the ridiculous amount of work she was doing with roses. perhaps working with floral arrangements that typically surrounded the idea of love and relationships wasnât the best job to have after suffering through a break-up. if asked, she would blame her job on why she had kissed max. ruthie ran fingers through her wavy blonde locks before she glanced over at him, nodding her head as an awkward bout of silence fell between them. âisnât it so funny how we used to just... talk for hours at camp and now...?â truth be told, it was her fault. while the break-up had been mutual in some ways, it had been her levels of patience (or lack of) that had led them down the pathway of speaking about truly breaking up and ending their relationship.

fiona was still fighting her jet lag, but sheâd decided to attend a party thrown by her friends, telling herself she would just pop in to say hello to a few of them before heading back to her apartment for a well deserved night of rest. sheâd only been home for a two days and sheâd spent the majority of those two days with her parents, and brother, reacquainting herself with how life was outside of hostels and hotel rooms. the party was in full swing by the time fiona arrived, she could hear the music playing from down the block, it was surprising that the cops hadnât been called but it was still early in the night. letting herself in she walked through the crowds of people towards the kitchen, it was her friends place so she knew her way around. fiona stopped to say hello to a few familiar faces, promising sheâd come back to tell them how sheâd been after she had a drink in her hand. she was pouring vodka into a red solo cup when she spotted her, remy, her ex-girlfriend from across the room. the girl was mid laugh, looking happier than ever, sending a twinge of discomfort into the very core of fiona. it made sense for remy to be here considering they pair had always ran in similar circles, sharing many of their friends, but nothing couldâve prepared her. fiona threw back a mouthful of her drink, the vodka warming her throat as it went down, building her courage as she walked in the others direction. âhey remy,â she cleared her throat, butting into whatever conversation her ex had been having. âitâs uhâŠ. hi, itâs good to see you.â she mumbled.Â
remy was a fan of any and all parties, but the kind of parties that were thrown to celebrate her? god tier. especially when they were celebrating her rising success in the theater world. after many years of community theater, she had finally landed a role in a major production... sure, it was off broadway and she wasnât playing the main lead role, but it meant that she was getting her foot in the door. it meant that things were looking up. no matter how much she didnât want to admit it, ever since the break-up with her girlfriend, fiona, she had been quite the mess. it was bad enough that a break-up even occurred, but for the reasons they had? she had been ruined. but that was a thing of the pass and remy had more important things to worry about - like her success in the real world of broadway. âhonestly, itâs going to be great,â remy said with a wide smile, smoozing with one of her many friends at the party. âi heard that iâm in the running of being the understudy for the lead role.â she was lying, of course, but she had a really good feeling that if she said it enough, she would will it into existence. however, in the middle of her conversation, she heard a familiar voice that immediately sent a shiver down her spine. âwill you excuse me?â remy said, not daring to look at fiona as she delivered a far too sweet smile in the direction of her wanted company. soon enough, remy was turning to meet the gaze of her ex-girlfriend, and she immediately felt like she was a puddle of goop on the floor. âfiona,â remy greeted, her eyes moving to dance around any part of the room. âwhat are you doing here? i could have swore i told the doorman downstairs to only let invited guests up to the apartment,â she delivered, trying her best to channel blair waldorf, but in reality, she sounded like a pathetic underling that was about to pass out.

he was supposed to be happy for her. after all, they were friends, werenât they? sure, there had been a time that tensley wanted something more from him. but, sheâd grown past that. yet here he was, telling her not to marry her fiance. âyouâre not being fair,â the blonde scowled at him. âyou donât get to do this now.â she scoffed, trying to get a hold of her emotions at the moment. âhow dare you,â she snapped, flicking an angry glare back at him. âi spent my whole life loving you, being ignored and i will not be second best now. not because you canât have what you really want. not when iâm finally happy.â she shook her head, letting out a deep sigh. âi thought youâd be happy for me. but i guess that was too much to ask, wasnât it?â
âitâs not too much to ask,â lucas tried to explain, crossing the threshold of space between him so that they could be closer to one another. this surely wasnât the conversation for them to be speaking to one another in such escalated tones. âi never... understood what you were feeling until i saw my mom holding your engagement announcement, tens.â he sighed, bringing his hand to his face, pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and index finger. âactually, i know iâm being unfair right now, but youâre not happy. i know youâre not happy, because i do finally understand how ignored and second best you felt all those years. i was a fucking idiot.â truly, lucasâ career had driven him throughout most of his adult years, making him become a stranger to even his family. he would have never realized his feelings for his friend if he hadnât seen the engagement announcement and while he recognized how wrong that was, it didnât change a single thing about his feelings - and how he was displaying them in the moment. âdonât marry him, tensley. not before i get the chance to prove to you how much i mean this.â

Okay, so cooking.. Still not a skill that Lacey could consider conquered just yet. Even with a some liquid courage the contents of her pan was well and truely stuck and now a solid brown in colour. Burnt. Again. She threw the pan into the sink, throwing her hands up with a groan as she reached to open the window above the sink to let out the remaining smoke. Her body jumped at the sound of the fire alarm, moving quickly to grab the broom stick and shove it up against the button for some peace. âFuck sakes!â The blonde shouted again, heading whipping towards the door at the sound of the knock. After a few breaths to compose her flustered self she padded towards the door, pulling it open to see the familiar face. Her smile grew as he spoke, a laugh leaving her lips by the end. âYouâre a god sent, Lucas.â She praised, welcoming the delicious sounding dish into her hands. âI donât really know what I would do without you. Well, actually I do, Iâd be eating toast.â She huffed, blowing a few strands from her face that had fallen in-front of her eyes whilst flustering around. âIâm apparently not cut out for the domestic goddess kind of life.â
âToast?â Lucas questioned, his eyes peaking around the blonde before him as he allowed a soft laugh to escape his lips. âAre we even sure you would be able to land that?â He was joking, of course, but the blaring sound of the fire alarm was still ringing in his ears, and he hadnât even been inside the house whenever it started his panicked song. Truly, Lucas was thankful that Lacey couldnât cook. Ever since he moved in next door, she had been a slight figure of admiration in his life, but his busy work schedule and less than bold personality always hindered him from getting to know her better. His cooking was the perfect ice breaker. âI would say I could swing by with ingredients next time and teach you a couple dishes, but then that would put a hold on these little impromptu gatherings,â Lucasâ tone had a slight chuckle to it as he used his free hand to scratch at the back of his neck. Flirting had never been a strong suit of his, especially ever since his long term girlfriend had left him for his busy schedule a few years ago. âGetting back on the horseâ was proving to be a whole lot more complicated than he would have believed. âYou mind if I come in and make sure itâs delicious?â

open to f/nb - lucas realizes his next door neighbor is an awful cook and takes it upon himself to make sure they never go hungry
sniffing the air, lucas couldnât help but roll his eyes in amusement. it was the third night in a row that his next door neighbor had burnt their dinner, and it was starting to get painful for him. lucas was the head chef at a two star michelin restaurant downtown, so to smell the dead carcasses of what could be fantastic dishes? it was heartbreaking. luckily, he recognized the trend and had made it his personal mission to make far too large of servings of his own dinner for himself - his neighbor needed to eat after all. he considered it a mix between making himself a walking billboard for his restaurant and a charity for a person in need. lucas grabbed the tuberware of lukewarm food before making his way across their conjoined backyards, scaling the back deck of his neighbor to find himself rapping knuckles against the back door. as soon as he saw their face, he was holding the tuberware up between them, waving the white flag for herself. âgarlic butter capellini with shrimp and a little bit of chicken. under sixty seconds in the microwave.â this had happened before, so an explanation was something that he wasnât expecting from them.
Bad idea for a Romantic Comedy The Chief of Police is married to a Mob Boss, and they have to keep âjust failingâ to catch each other. When one of them hits the other in a shootout, itâs followed with âOh Iâm never going to hear the end of thisâŠâ
âSo how was your day at work?â âYOU FUCKING SHOT ME! THAT WAS MY DAY AT WORK!â
We clearly have different definitions of bad.

open to f/m/nb - after an awkward post break-up run in, ruthie accidentally kisses y/m because of old habits dying hard
âyeah, of course, it was... nice seeing you too,â ruthie stated with her eyes pacing against the pale grey of the sidewalk beneath their feet. it had been the first time the pair had seen one another since their untimely break-up a week before, and to say things were awkward between them would be putting it lightly. âsmall town, iâm sure weâre going to be bumping into one another again soon.â before walking away from them, ruthie made the biggest mistake - leaning in and pressing a chaste kiss against their lips. it was habit. âi am so sorry, shit.â
hEy gimme a plot where thereâs a single dad who lives alone with his kid in a cheap apartment and heâs reserved and keeps to himself and is pretty shy and thereâs a girl who moves into the apartment across from his and they each have their windows open all the time and she just gets amused watching him interact with his kid and sheâs so amazed by it and they communicate through their windows a lot, looking up every so often and waving or chuckling and making little faces at each other, but never actually talk until thereâs a false fire alarm at three in the morning and theyâre standing out in the cold and she offers his kid her jacket because they at the time thought there was a real fire and he was too worried about getting the two of them outside to think about jackets and it just kind of takes off from theRE !!

relationships were a lot for logan. after watching her parents loveless marriage turn into nothing, it took a lot for her to let her guard down enough and fall for someone - but with them it had been easy. if she thought about it too much, her stomach were grow knots the size of her fist, making her want to run at the first sign of the other. but she hadnât yet, and she really didnât want to. however, the other wasnât making things any easier for her. their conversations had quickly turn to discussions of other women, instantly making the usually very confident girl feel like she was in high school again. âstop,â logan said, a dry laugh running through her tone as she closed her eyes. she was frustrated. âyou just have toâŠâ god, this was going to suck and she could feel it. there had been far too many tries between the two of things to strike magic or gold between them and she was through with it. âif you donât say you love me now, you will never get the chance to love me again, okay? so you need to just⊠say what you want right now or weâre through.â

âWhat do you do?â Cora asked, hands crossed against her chest. âYou just got friends that can find out where a woman just set up a business? I havenât even finished doing all the paperwork,â she said, nostrils flaring in defensiveness. âI donât know what youâre talking about Ben. And I donât like that youâre coming into my shop and accusing me of taking your things. I thought things were going to be different? I thought you had faith it was going to work? What happened?â She asked angrily. âWhat shit? Maybe if you tell me what I can look for Iâll know exactly what to get for you,â she said. She looked at him with a blank look, shrugging her shoulders. âI donât know what youâre talking about. Sorry,â she walked away, going to take a roll of fabric to move towards the window. Â
âIâm not just some fuckinâ friendly neighborhood drug dealer,â Ben stated through clenched teeth as he felt his patience slowly slipping away from him. He had physically hurt people for far less than what she was serving to him. Of course he wasnât going to stoop to that level, but it showed a lot of the restraint he was paying to her. âYou donât like that Iâm coming in here and just accusing you of things? I donât like you lying to me, Cora!â Ben closed his eyes in an attempt to gain some sort of confidence in himself to calm down, but it wasnât working. Was she trying to have him killed? He knew that she wasnât aware of what his standings were currently, but it didnât take a genius to realize the kind of trouble Ben could be in if he didnât get the product back. âDonât you dare walk away from me,â he stated, springing towards her and grabbing the roll of fabric from her hands. It wasnât a good move, and he wasnât proud of it, but he needed her attention. Full attention. âYou knew everything I had on me everything, I was honest with you. The least you could do was respect me enough back to be honest with me now,â he spoke softer now, especially since their distance was much closer than before. âI need the drugs back now. I donât just report to myself, Cora. It doesnât work like that, so please.â
blucsuedeâ:
She returned his kiss softly and nodded her head, a bit nervous about what was going to happen after. Maybe heâd pat himself down before going into the house but he didnât and she was off the hook, starting to drive away, sitting up for too long and waiting for Bens call, taking his lack of call as her sign of him realizing what sheâd done. She couldnât help but dwell on what sheâd given up by doing this: Having Ben in her life again. But then she had to justify it to herself logically â This Ben wasnât her Ben. This Ben was a drug dealer, and did she want anything to do with a drug dealer? The answer, in short, was no. She wanted desperately to have what she had with Ben again, but she just couldnât justify his decision to deal drugs.Â
The shop was small, with one main room and a back room where she kept important documents and such, her Dad sitting back there looking over her businessâs financial documents, which he liked to go over and straighten out for her, which she wasnât going to deny him of. She did a doubletake and looked up from her sewing machine when she saw Ben. âHow did you know where I work?â She asked, standing up. âDid you leave something in my carâŠ?âÂ
âWork with a guy that knows how to find people,â Ben explained, his voice quipping in annoyance at the level of playing dumb she was dealing him. He didnât believe it for a single second. He wasnât just a local drug dealer to the city and the low lifes that dwelled in its confines. He worked for a large crime ring, and one that would have his head if they knew what he had lost - or more so, the cost of what he had lost. âI didnât leave anything in my car, Cora. You know exactly what Iâm talking about.â Benâs eyes bored into Coraâs, trying to search her soul for some sort of answer to his questions. He needed to sell the drugs or explain what had happened to his boss, and the latter was something that entered Cora into a world that he wasnât ready for her to be a part of. âI need... you to hand over the shit, okay? Seriously, this is bigger than you just being displeased with my career path, Cora. You had no right,â Ben paused for a moment, trying to keep a calm and steady disposition to himself. He knew that he wasnât going to get anywhere with her if he was flying off the handle, and feeding into the bad image she already had about present day Ben Reese. âPlease, Cor.â
blucsuedeâ:
Cora nodded, holding onto the steering wheel tightly. Itâs not that she was scared or intimidated by him â she just couldnât believe she was actually with him, that theyâd kissed, and sheâd managed to get two baggies of his drugs off of him without him noticing; It all felt like a lot and knowing that he might notice at any second made her nervous. She took a deep breath and nodded, starting down the road and counting each set of blocks she passed. âI think youâre one of the only people in my life Iâve ever really cared about more than just superficially. And it was really weird to go without you but⊠I mean no matter what happens, I just feel happy to have you around again,â she nodded and smiled softly, though she knew that perhaps heâd get mad enough at her for taking his things that there wasnât going to be a next time. âCall me, okay?â She said when she stopped in front of his place.
âI couldnât agree more,â Ben admitted with a nod of his head as he unbuckled his seat belt. He could feel that things were going to be alright between the two of them. âIâll call you tonight, yeah?â Without thinking about the implications, he leaned across the center console and pressed a soft kiss against her lips before exiting the car. This time, he was going to make things right.
Only, he didnât call.
After getting settled inside of his apartment, Ben was rearing to call his boss and explained how the cops busted the drug deal, but he had gotten away safely. In the middle of the call, Ben was unpacking the goods that he had on him and noticed two of his baggies of product missing. A panic set over him, but it was no time that he realized what was going on - Cora. She must have pocketed his supplies during one of their embraces. Ben was fucking panicked. After getting off the phone call, Ben immediately was getting in contact with one of his buddies, Ajay. The man was a fucking wizard whenever it came to web sleuthing, all thanks to their shared employer of the crime ring. He explained what happened and soon enough, the address to Coraâs shop was in his text messages. He might not have called that night, but the two of them would be seeing one another a lot sooner than Cora might have realized.
The next afternoon, Ben was making his way across the city to arrive at the doorstep of Coraâs shop. It was quaint, and if he hadnât been in such a foul mood, Ben was sure that he would have admired the outdoor presence of the business. But alas, he took no time before he was pushing the door open to the establishment in a huff. The moment he laid eyes on her, a small smile quipped on his lips. He couldnât help himself. âCora, I think you have something of mine. And I need it back. Now.â
