Summary:

This fic and its title were inspired by this tumblr post, and a second chapter may or may not be coming soon ;)
I know that it's not very productive, but the KPDH songs are my study soundtrack.
And I was thinking, the Saja Boys have way better line distribution than Huntrix. All of them sing quite a lot in both Soda Pop and Your Idol.
And then Huntrix is mostly Rumi, the others singing harmonies, or two lines of solo. She sounds amazing, but I think only How It's Done had them all have a solo part that was longer than two lines. Zoey had her rap verses, and Mira had her verses. And Rumi got to belt, vocally.
Golden was mostly Rumi; that song had no rapping. And Zoey and Mira leave right in the middle during the stage performance, because they're not needed to sing. I know, plot, but still. And I expected a bit more in What It Sounds Like, because it's all unity, reclaiming identity, which all of them struggled with. They had their harmonies, but Rumi was louder than them. And Zoey and Mira are super precious, like not side characters where you can be like, oh yeah, sure, main characters sing more.
I'm not complaining, I love all the songs, and the singing. I just think it would have been nicer if the other girls got to sing more, character-wise. I don't know whether the cast, songwriters, and directors chose to do it this way, though.
Mira from KPDH is truly misinterpreted by the fandom imo because when I read fics I often I see people writing her as this nonchalant tough girl who shuts down and has avoidant behavior and like. That's fine in fanfiction but the moment people actually start acting like she is actually like that when in canon that girl was the opposite??? Lmao. "Avoidant behavior" that woman was on Rumi's business the whole movie trying to figure out what was happening to her because she could tell there was something wrong. She was the most communicative one out of the three. "Tough girl" that's a façade. She's actually a sweetheart who cries when her fans say they love her or has a norigae with little Zoey and Rumi charms. She's a fake idgafer lol.
Same with Zoey. She's cute and the youngest out the three of them, and she is obviously neurodivergent. Now she's also smart and an adult woman, too, so it's annoying to see some people just straight up infantilizint her or making her be the "dumb one" in Huntrix. That's misinterpretation at its finest and it's straight up annoying.
I love when people in the fandom can do words better than me bc they be getting it exactly right.
If you don't mind me adding to this late but, I would also say this applies to Rumi as well.
As much as I love a lot of fandom's depiction of Rumi in a lot of whump fics (someone who sacrifices herself so much for her girls cause she cannot give more of herself than what the Patterns permit her too) this aspect of her, is not really what the movie is about. Or who Rumi is. A lot of kpdh is shaped by how Rumi herself is quite selfish in her motivations.
I mean, one of the first major character things she does after established with How It's Done is ruin Mira and Zoey's and Bobby's vacation time after promising (Bobby especially) that he can have a nice break. She lies and gaslights Mira even, to keep the demon lie hidden (valid on her part, but doesn't make the road there any better). She goes behind the other two's back and works with Jinu on that plan despite every glaring red flag with him (she tries her best to have control of the situation but never mind that it was a very risky venture from the start, and again, there are no fail-safes in place). Rumi operates throughout the movie as if she herself alone knows what's best for the group (this is even emphasized by how she responds to Mira and Zoey questioning her post-Idols Takedown - that she can "fix it" despite it being out the window and under-clarified as shit). Turning the Honmoon gold goes from a "we" thing to an "I" thing over the course of the film.
A lot of her attitude reflects the almost bratty entitlement that comes from a perfectionist who's succeeded largely in everything they've set out to do either by skill, training, or getting their own way. And we know from the Golden release (and even the childhood flashback concept art from the devs) that Rumi is used to getting her way a lot and that is a big aspect of her character that I think fanon underutilizes (or utilizes poorly) a good deal of the time. Like yes, she's depressed (possibly), has terrible self-esteem/self-image issues, possibly neurodivergent, socially awkward etc. But she's also a bit High Strung, overtly Perfectionist, bratty, and a good portion of her problems in the film are self-inflicted, and can't be blamed on Celine, the girls, or even Jinu.

hi i was drinking mold all my freshman year and got the most sick ive ever been in my life here's good ways to avoid that shit:
number one rule is get stainless steel shit. stainless steel water bottle stainless steel straw, you dont want that rubber plastic etc shit it grows mold like a mf. turns out that was the main culprit of what happened to me, my reusable water bottle was plastic and it didn't matter how much i let it soak or cleaned it out.
get this either if you can or can't afford the stainless steel stuff and just be really on cleaning it; staw cleaner looks like this:
and get one its mammas the bottle cleaner for your cup:
this one is 3 dollars you get soap in there and spin this shit around and push it up and down and the mold will be begging for mercy
My additional piece of advice: get a pack of denture cleaning tablets. These are especially good if you use your bottle for anything other than water (squash, coffee etc) or if you’ve got a built in straw with awkward curvy bits.
You put that tablet in the bottle, add hot water, let it fizz and soak for a bit and hey presto, any stains or discolouration or weird little crevices are suddenly removed of their hidden nasty bits.
My niece kept saying her water bottle tasted weird, and she washed it and washed it, and then me and my mum were like GIVE IT HERE and we put a denture tablet in it and added the straw to it and it started fizzing up the straw and all this black gunk started coming out the weird curvy bits of the fitted straw like a Coke-mentos experiment.
It’ll taste slightly minty unless you rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse but that’s not a terrible thing, and let’s face it, denture tablets are for cleaning dentures so, you know, designed to clean things that go in mouths.
Anyway: wash your water bottles! Wash your flasks! More often than you think you need to!! Keep denture tablets in the cupboard!!

Not that anybody asked, but I think it's important to understand how shame and guilt actually work before you try to use it for good.
It's a necessary emotion. There are reasons we have it. It makes everything so. much. worse. when you use it wrong.
Shame and guilt are DE-motivators. They are meant to stop behavior, not promote it. You cannot, ever, in any meaningful way, guilt someone into doing good. You can only shame them into not doing bad.
Let's say you're a parent and your kid is having issues.
Swearing in class? Shame could work. You want them to stop it. Keep it in proportion*, and it might help. *(KEEP IT IN PROPORTION!!!)
Not doing their homework? NO! STOP! NO NOT DO THAT! EVER! EVER! EVER! You want them to start to do their homework. Shaming them will have to opposite effect! You have demotivated them! They will double down on NOT doing it. Not because they are being oppositional, but because that's what shame does!
You can't guilt people into building better habits, being more successful, or getting more involved. That requires encouragement. You need to motivate for that stuff!
If you want it in a simple phrase:
You can shame someone out of being a bad person, but you can't shame them into being a good person.
