I saw a post about Shane and Ilya being sad that they can't thank each other in their acceptance speeches like other can with their spouses and it got me thinking:
Ilya wins his first awards and hes got nobody he really wants to thank after his team and coach cause he he hates his family but he knows his speech is too short so on impulse he goes "And I want to thank Shane Hollander for being slightly worse than me this season". Everyone knows it was going to one of those two, so everyone thinks hes an asshole to say that but whats new so it works for him. But from then on it then becomes a bit for both of them to thank each other in their speeches in a snide way as a reason they won.
Shane winning the Art Ross Trophy (Awarded to the player who leads the league in total points at the end of the regular season). and going "special thanks to Rozanov for missing at least 5 shots this season, he was a huge help"
Ilya winning the Conn Smythe Trophy (Awarded to the most valuable player for his team in the playoffs.) "Just want to give a quick shout out to Hollander for getting knocked out in the second round this season. Must hate to see me up here."
They find a way to mention the other in their speeches every time all the time.
and every time, they sit in their seats like
im such a huge fan of this move where anyone bigger than him he grabs by the leg and flings them round
there might be more bc i havent watched the super anime but this is what i have rn if u have more pls add
Vegeta definitely catches the similarities between Raditz and Goku which actually sickens him, especially when he gets older and matures on Earth. Goku will laugh at something and Vegeta will recognize those deep smile lines from a distant memory. Despite not ever claiming attachment to Raditz they did grow up together and did get used to each other so yes, when Vegeta sees Goku fascinated by the bug Goten is showing his father, Vegeta is very faintly seeing two Raditz’. It makes Vegeta feel like he’s stolen Raditz place as uncle, but with his own history wit Raditz, Vegeta feels like Raditz should rest. He’d never say any of this aloud though since those are his memories if that makes sense.
(Vegeta has def found Raditz old space pod and secretly visited it).
Idk- whenever I think of Vegeta and Raditz I think that they were mostly one-sided (Raditz obv pushing for connection) and that Vegeta viewed him as an inferior possession. But when Vegeta lives on Earth he looks back and almost regrets how he treated his comrade (Not reviving Raditz was like Vegetas version of putting down an old and sick dog).
All half-baked thoughts so don’t gut me please.
i know its like typical fanon bullshit but genuinely i will never be able to wrap my head around how so many people seem to be under this bizarre misconception that vegeta is this manwhore womanizer type character like
like this guy??????? youre certain???????????? really???????????????????????
Beerus and Bulla ✨️
Bulma's necklace-halo looks like a mechanical version of Whis' halo, and since Bulma and Whis are besties it's not that crazy to think that it could be a gift from Whis which contains some of his powers. Maybe Whis made Bulma a Deputy Angel on Earth?
Whis’ halo was my first thought too, which led me to think more about the Vegeta GoD theory, haha! It’s absolutely not out of the realm of possibility, especially considering she’s already been looking after Earth’s guardians for free since she was 16 years old. It’s a very distinct design choice between the halo the turtleneck and the colors of his staff, I’ll be genuinely shocked if it’s not connected to Whis in some way.
I’ve said before but one of my favorite things about DBS’s manga (and why they really need to revisit the Beerus script through the movie’s lens) is that it’s assumed (by the characters and the audience) that Beerus is favoring Goku but he rarely specifies when he’s talking to both boys and it quietly becomes clearer and clearer until the Granolah saga that he’s been eyeing Vegeta the entire time, and that makes sense all the way back to their interactions in BotG. I was curious if maybe Broly would be the new pick once he got his self-control on point, but I also think it would be a neat thread to pull that Vegeta’s “failure” to be ruthless and destructive again might actually be a boon to his candidacy in terms of exhibiting compassion and restraint and using his judgement.
I don’t know what the series will end up doing because Vegeta and Bulma becoming guardians is thematically Correct for their characters, but also Broly and Gohan becoming guardians is juicy, and has also already potentially been telegraphed through Gohan’s connection to Shin in the Buu saga.
Lots to love
HEAR ME OUT:
God of Destruction Vegeta and Supreme Kai of Time Bulma life-linked in xenoverse 😌😌😌
I thought about this too!! It’s possible AND she’d be a healer, which would help her boys lol I think it would be a nice nod to Daima too since she was the one who was sad the Glinds were at the end of their lineage :’)
Omg if Vegeta becomes the New God of Destruction and Bulma his Angel that would mean that their children would die before them and they would have to watch this?? 😭 (Not sure about how age would work in dragon ball but that's literally it isn't it? That's so sad :c )
Most likely! But there’s also the chance that for their heroism in keeping earth safe they get to keep their bodies in other world like the other Z-Fighters, so Vegeta would be able to see his kids (and grandkids?) whenever he wanted, instead of the alternative of them never seeing him again at the end of his life, due to the “going to hell at best” circumstances he’s in lol

i like beerus so heres a bunch of mostly unrelated beerus comics while i read the manga and try to get some of the style down
have you seen the new xenoverse game trailer with (what is being presumed by everyone) a 267-year old Bulma? any thoughts, opinions, theories?
(my personal headcanon is that she managed to acquire immortality or smth so that Vegeta can choose to train/be the new GoD without them sacrificing being together but I digress lmaaao)
LITERALLY JUST RAMBLED IN THE TAGS ABOUT THIS LOL Her collar makes me think of Whis’ collar and I’m truly going insane about the potential implications of her being linked to her GoD husband as a partner eternally can you imagine
What if Bulma had a C-sec when Trunks was born. Maybe bc he was too big. Maybe bc he didn't turn.
Obviously Vegeta wouldn't know initially bc didn't care didn't ask and Bulma didn't bother to tell him.
But one day after the Cell Games they sleep with each other again, and he sees the scar and because he only knows battle scars and medical tanks, not surgery, he asks "who did this" and Bulma is like "? oh you mean the C-sec scar? Well, you did" and Vegeta learns a few things that day, for example how much Bulma did on her own without his support, and how fragile life can be, and how backwards Earth medicine is, and that he somehow cares more about that scar than Bulma does.
(Hc that, as vain as she can be, Bulma will wear that particular scar with pride.)
((I may or may not be planning to include this in an upcoming oneshot.))
How do you think Vegeta would react to seeing Bulma drunk and crying during a VERY sad movie? The movie would be one of those sad dog movies
Sorry OP, I was thinking about those movies recently and how I absolutely avoid watching them because... they have sad dogs 💔
Maybe bathtime became a ritual because she felt bad about all the snot she gets in his hair on movie nights
do you know any vegebul fics where adult vegeta and adult bulma are best friends? a friends to lovers fic kinda of
has anyone written something like this? lmao
i’m sorry to ask i’m really desperate

Some are canonical, some human AUs and some with Saiyans existing. I recommend them all, even the unfinished ones.
I haven't read the dragon ball manga but your posts make me want to! Vegeta is one of the OG blorbos for me lol anyway, I wanted to ask you, which plotlines have him be the only responsible one in the room?
Oh, that is the plot of the the Battle of the Gods movie! Bfndjfj Everyone else is either drunk or can’t be told what’s going on for fear of panicking or challenging Beerus. The resurrection F movie is also very worth watching if you’ve only seen the anime retelling of it, everyone is treated much better by the script. The only other times is in DBS’s manga if he’s alone with Goku, because if Piccolo or Whis or Bulma or Shin is there he has backup and he is also probably behaving like a child fjdjs. His hyper-competent strategic self is also truly spectacular in the Namek saga, which is the first time I think Toriyama showed us that his practical intelligence is on par with Bulma’s by having them both come up with the same plan like two pages apart from one another, and Vegeta does it first iirc.
That said, he’s also more chill and guarded and strategic overall in the manga. That’s not to say he doesn’t have his loud reactions to things, but the anime has him be a lot more insecure and reactive toward everyone and everything, where in the manga his social rank is much more clear and his attitude is generally much more ‘If you make this my problem, I will become your problem, I promise.’
Like, the gag about him being arrogant in Daima when he carries himself with this authority nobody knows he ever had, because Toriyama’s Geets was a super high-ranking officer for so long and it’s habit for him to default into a de facto leader in a Situation, and you see him do that at least once per arc of the manga
