Well, my name is Ana, a Brazilian girl who loves books🇧🇷📚
“I can imagine,” Azriel said. Cassian flashed him a glare. But Azriel’s attention was on my sister, a polite, bland smile on his face.
A Court Of Mist And Fury - Chapter 24
Cassian glanced over at Az, but his attention was fixed on the young priestess, admiration and quiet encouragement shining from his face.

no but and when we have azriel calling gwyn 'my mate' what do we do????
I think it’s canon that Manon’s future daughter will be named Asterin, right?
RIGHT.
Right, @ladybookstan ????
RIGHT!!!!!
Viviane Appreciation✨
Synopsis: A post completely dedicated to Viviane, talking a little bit about the character and bringing solid and real reasons why this woman deserves more recognition and appreciation by the fandom.
We meet Viviane in ACOWAR (chapter 43) at the High Lords meeting, she is described as "A Stunning Young Female" and is introduced to us as being the Wife and Mate of Kallias, the High Lord of the Winter Court. We also learn that she is Mor's best friend and it has been a long time since the two have seen each other. Viviane was born and raised in Winter Court. She was and still is Kallias' best friend.
From this excerpt, we can get a sense of what Viviane's personality is like:
“I tried to suggest she stay at home,” Kallias said drily, “but she threatened to freeze my balls off.” ACOWAR - 43
Let's take a look at Viviane's background story:
Viviane had not been Under the Mountain. As her childhood friend, Kallias had been protective of her to a fault over the years—had placed the sharp-minded female on border duty for decades to avoid the scheming of his court. He didn’t let her near Amarantha, either. Didn’t let anyone get a whiff of what he felt for his white-haired friend, who had no clue—not one— that he had loved her his entire life. And in those last moments, when his power had been ripped from him by that spell.… Kallias had flung out the remnants to warn her. To tell Viviane he loved her. And then he begged her to protect their people.
So she had. As Mor and my friends had protected Velaris, Viviane had veiled and guarded the small city under her watch, offering safe harbor to those who made it.
Never forgetting the High Lord and friend trapped Under the Mountain, never ceasing her hunt for finding a way to free him. Especially while Amarantha unleashed her horrors upon his court to break them, punish them. Yet Viviane held them together. And through that reign of terror—during all those years—she realized what Kallias was to her, what she felt for him in return.
The day he’d returned home, he’d winnowed right to her. She’d kissed him before he could speak a word. He’d then knelt down and asked her to be his wife. They went an hour later to a temple and swore their vows. And that night — during the you - know, Viviane grinned at Mor — The mating bond at last snapped into place.
The story occupied our time while we waited, since Mor wanted details. Lots of them. Ones that pushed the boundaries of propriet and left Thesan choking on his elderberry wine. But Kallias smiled at his wife and mate, warm and bright enough that despite his icy coloring, he should have been the High Lord of Day. - ACOWAR - 43
Amarantha reigned for fifty years, and we know that the Winter Court was one of the Courts that rebelled against her, unsuccessfully, but this did not stop Amarantha from unleashing her fury on this Court and its inhabitants.
But during all this time (fifty years), Viviane was a firm and strong leader, keeping her Court united and standing. I believe that the training she has received on the borders of the Winter Court has helped her in this moment. Because, in my opinion, you can't simply lead a Court without training. Kallias didn't beg Viviane to take care of his people just because he loved her, at that moment, Kallias wasn't just a man begging his beloved for something, at that moment he was a High Lord who would have to leave his Court, his people, his beloved and go under the domination of a tyrant. The High Lord inside Kallias knew that he could trust Viviane, because she was (still is) a good leader and received enough training on the borders.
We have to understand the situation that Winter Court was in, the situation that all of Prythian was in. Amarantha's reign was brutal, cruel and sadistic. The fact that Viviane led the Court alone and did not go crazy, but stood firm in her brave, fearless, righteous and even sweet personality, is reason enough for her to have more appreciation and recognition.
Now, here are excerpts from the chapter that show us a little more of Viviane's personality:
Here we see her talking about how she still hasn't gotten used to the title "Wife" of Kallias:
Here is when we discover that she and Kallias are not only married, they are Mates too:
From that moment on, Feyre was not the only one who began to like Viviane:
We cannot forget that she spoke an incredible truth to Beron in front of all the High Lords and was not afraid of his response.
And even though Mor and Viviane are friends, Viviane did not forget the seriousness of the meeting and behaved like a responsible and dedicated leader to her Court. Besides supporting her Husband and High Lord, she used her voice and didn't wait for Kallias or Mor to come to her rescue.
This excerpt was her response when Tamlim asked if they (the Winter Court) were willing to fight on Rhysand's side.
Now, I intend to answer this question and explain why I consider her as the First High Lady of Prythian:
Remembering that this post is not to diminish any character or to say that Viviane is better than Feyre. There is a big difference between doing that and making a post "Viviane Appreciation", which is what I am doing.
"But Ana, Feyre is the first High Lady, she has the title, Rhysand made the declaration and she is the Cursebreaker."
First, we are talking about the High Lady title, not other titles they may have.
Second, I know that Feyre is the first woman to have the title of High Lady.
Third, what is more important? Title or Acts?
Just as my wise queen @angelic-voice-1997 said a few days ago, the title is not so important when we see the acts.
Points that reinforce my point about Viviane being a High Lady and deserving recognition:
Viviane has experience leading a Court. And she did it alone and in one of Prythian's worst moments (it was fifty years).
She dealt with political situations, Amarantha attacks, probably had to earn the respect of the people, because honestly, do you think an entire Court suddenly started to trust her?
If we put ourselves in Viviane's shoes, we can see some real feelings like, fear of failing Court, failing Kallias, insecurity of starting to lead alone, great responsibility and above all, Viviane had to find strength within herself not to crumble.
Caring for an entire people is not easy. They were lives depending on her. For everything.
And even with all these obstacles, Viviane had a very good result and delivered the Winter Court stronger, united and resistant to Kallias.
To lead is not to sit all day long on a throne, we know that, to lead, the leader has to be ready to get her hands and sword dirty with blood.
Viviane did this, just as she also fought in the war against Hybern on Mor's side.
As Feyre noted, "Kallias' Army was the Army that Viviane kept standing."
And to conclude, a leader must be wise and seek what is best for her people. We saw that Viviane did this at the moment when she was the first one who said she was going to fight with Rhysand. She didn't wait for Kallias or anyone else. Thus being a determined and wise leader.
Feyre is High Lady. No one can deny it, she has the title, the recognition and appreciation. But what I am trying to say is that nobody will die if we finally understand the facts and see that it is okay to admit that Viviane is a High Lady, the first one. Feyre will not stop being a High Lady. And I really want in the next books Sarah to tell us that Viviane was given the title, because even if it's not the most important thing, it's only fair. Because Viviane deserves it.
I, particularly, just want to see the happiness of this woman, and I was quite happy when, in ACOSF, we found out that Viviane is pregnant!!!
Kallias and Viviane, also swollen with child and glowing with joy and strength. - ACOSF - 61
Thank you for reading this post, you are welcome to add more, just don't forget respect🤗
YOU. WILL. WRITE. oh you want to write so bad. all the motivation is here. the plot is so good. words come to you so naturally. YOU ARE GOING TO WRITE. RIGHT NOW.
azriel entered the warmth of the stairwell, and as he descended, he could have sworn a faint, beautiful singing followed him. could have sworn his shadows sang in answer.
like???? how much clearer does sjm have to be 😭 the entirety of this bonus chapter (yes, even the beginning) is used for sjm to provide hints to this budding romance and, most likely, mating bond between az and gwyn. like i'm genuinely just thinking about this from a pure narrative/writing standpoint. ESPECIALLY if we look at the difference in the beginning of the chapter when azriel refers to the necklace itself as "a thing of secret lovely beauty":
the golden necklace seemed ordinary [...] a thing of secret, lovely beauty.
whereas by the end once we have shifted to this new potential match for azriel, he is thinking of gwyn's expression as "a thing of secret lovely beauty":
how gwyn's teal eyes might light upon seeing the necklace [...] buried the image down deep, where it glowed quietly [...] a thing of secret, lovely beauty.
i'm no writer but it doesn't take much effort to figure out sjm's intentions in ending the chapter with the SAME phrase as emphasized earlier, but now applying that "lovely beauty" to gwyn's eyes rather than the item itself. i honestly can't see how one could read this chapter and not at least acknowledge the writing choices sjm has made here - which in my view, indicate the introduction of gwynriel.
I’m gonna go ahead and put this bullshit to rest🫶🏻. Nesta is not leaving Cassian, they love each other and it would kill them if they ever had to be apart(both of them canonically say this in their thoughts). Cassian absolutely would not cheat on Nesta nor leave her nor hate her. He never has hated her. This man couldn’t and wouldn’t have a relationship romantically, physically, or emotionally after the first time meeting Nesta (he says this in acosf). Lastly, he has been in love with her from the first time he met her and ain’t falling out of love anytime soon or ever. He literally faught the compulsion of the crown, a Dead Trove that makes people do whatever is said by the holder, through his love for Nesta and stabbed himself not being able to stomach hurting her even if he was magically made to do it.
Does he have issues regarding his treatment of Nesta? Yes. But guess who else does? Nesta. She didn’t always treat him kindly. Did he fix what he said and did to her? Yes. As well as Nesta fixed what she said and did to him. Are they allowed to have arguments from time to time? Absolutely, if they didn’t they would never work out and the relationship would be blindly toxic. Furthermore, THEY ARE NOT FEYSAND AND THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE. NOT EVERY COUPLE HAS TO BE LIKE FEYSAND TO BE A GOOD MATCH.
Overall, Nessian are in love. They are Mated. At the end of acosf they talk about a future regarding a family of their own, a life of their own. They have been willing to die together multiple times and when faced with danger, both of them have been known to do unimaginable things (cassian fighting the crown, Nesta literally unmaking someone) they wouldn’t be able to do this if they weren’t in love and a true fated mated pair.
Thank you for reading! If you disagree don’t get your panties all in a wad and leave hate comments, I don’t feel like losing any more brain cells over nonsense that comes from people who both have no reading comprehension and have to literally change a characters entire arc/personallity to make a theory work.
You know Nesta really is HER.
She laughed at the children of the blessed.
She can see through Fae glamours and magic.
She told the human queens they were cowards.
She stole from the Cauldron.
She had the Cauldron, the most revered artifact of the fae that has the ability to create life and destroy everything by basically being the womb of the Mother, terrified of her to the point it went after anyone else but her.
She slapped her sister’s toxic fiancé in the face and told him he never deserved her anyway after he insulted her.
She scared off her baby sister’s toxic ex, told him off for his treatment of her sister, pointed her finger at him, and told him she’d rip his head off if he told anyone they were in spring.
She changed the entire trajectory of the books bc Sarah just couldn’t hate her
Sarah’s original plan was to have her with Lucien but the moment Nesta and Cassian saw each other it was a done deal and Sarah (basically the real life mother/cauldron) had to rewrite the books.
She did the math on how many ships the human lands would need in order to evacuate from the war.
She scared a death lord with her Made Sword
She can willed all three dread troves and has a special connection with them to the point of being able to portal them to her
She has a special connection to THE MOTHER. And a bargain with the Cauldron.
She’s been called a Death God, Kingslayer, Lady Death, Queen of Queens, Witch, Pillager of Death, Witch from Oorid, and Death Herself.
She is a Valkyrie and Oristian.
She encouraged some of the priestesses from the library (ones who have spent centuries in there without leaving) to join training by showing them there was nothing to fear.
She got a a usually disdainful blacksmith to smile with her inquisitiveness.
She marked the king with a death promise then beheaded him in the war when she got the chance. And held up his head in victory of her promise being acomplished.
She killed the first Kelpie seen in hundreds of years. Beheaded it and held it’s head in the same way.
She awoke a House and made it sentimental by befriending it with her magic.
She stabbed a man’s dick in the Blood Rite.
She led her team through the Blood Rite. Like any good General would do.
She held the line, giving up the chance of the win, so her found sisters could survive.
She spoke about becoming the leader of the first complete female fighting group in Prythian after five hundred years.
She had actual Death Gods speaking highly of her. Fearing her too.
The most powerful high lord in prythian feared her.
She unmade someone to avenge her mate. Her power stopped time when she unleashed it fully. She saved her sister, nephew, and brother-in-law all in the same morning after completing the blood rite. Gave up a fraction of her power for it, but made a bargain with the cauldron and spoke with the mother. Told her baby sister “I love you” for the first time, this was also the first time Nesta had ever said ily out loud to anyone. Decided that she wanted to have a mating ceremony. Hugged her brother-in-law after his mate and babe almost died even though they had some issues. Again all of this happened in the same morning.
She gave her Mask to an untrustworthy friend and by doing so saved both Prythian and Midgard. Perhaps other worlds and universes too.
She has infinite range👏👏👏
Please add anything that I left out! My girl has done so much I forget to list them all.
I have a question! For a little positivity.
What are you looking forward to the most in Gwynriel’s and Elucien’s book? It can be super specific or vague!
It can be either one or both 💖🌻
This is my moment✍🏻
In gwynriel book:
Gwyn making a friendship bracelet for Azriel: It's obviously going to happen.
Just both on a mission: Azriel thoroughly teaching Gwyn the art of espionage.
Singing together: I NEED THIS LIKE I NEED AIR.
Cute nicknames: We've already got "Shadowsinger" and "Berdara".
SJM writing this in HOFAS after spreading all the matism crumbs between Azriel and Gwyn in ACOSF
It’s almost like she’s preparing for Azriel’s mate….hmmmm…
Bryce : “Aren’t you curious?”
Nesta : “Yes,we are.”
Indeed we are…..
i can’t wait for the moment when azriel hears gwyn sing for the first time. her voice will be so mesmerizing that he won’t be able to look away, and his shadows will start dancing around him
the fact that sjm started the bonus chapter with elain and ended it with gwyn is so telling…
ppl don’t realise even for small chapters the author intends to structure it a specific way:
the chapter starts with azriel envying the mating bonds of rhys and cassian between the 2 archeron sisters, and then what does he do?
lusts after the third archeron, elain. he almost kisses her right below her mate because he’s so convinced after 500 years of pining after mor and no mating bond, that elain is his mate. because why would the cauldron have 2 sisters mated to 2 brothers, but not the third?
azriel even questions this, “Tell me how it's possible that my two brothers are with two of those sisters, yet the third was given to another." - he doesn’t even call elain by her name, merely “the third”
it’s obvious by now he feels no romantic love for elain, only lust as he’s blinded by his desire for a mate. he even admits this “He hadn't gotten that far with his planning, certainly not beyond the fantasies he pleasured himself to.”
and then, after questioning this, he goes to the training pit where he meets gwyn, where his shadows dance with her breath like it heard silent music, something restless settled in him, his shadows were content to watch and sang back at the faint, beautiful singing as he left.
the chapter then ended with azriel gifting gwyn the necklace, and buried an imagine of gwyn’s teal eyes lighting up at the necklace (my baby🥹🥹)
and the last line of the chapter is azriel seeing the image of her happy as a thing of secret, lovely beauty.
SJM ended the chapter like this, to show that gwyn is the answer to his question, she is his mate.- it’s showing how azriel tried defying fate but fate has something better in store for him (in this case, he attempted to pursue a relationship with a mated female bc of how bad he wants a mate, but fate has gifted him a mate of his own)
SJM is a fated mates author, azriel and gwyn are mates and will be endgame, lucien and elain are mates and will be endgame.
The Spymaster’s Song (and the Girl Who Wasn’t Meant to Hear It. Yet.)
It happens by accident.
The training ring is empty but for her, breath silvering the air. Dusk folds itself into the rafters, and the wind has gone still. She shouldn’t hear him. Shadows are not meant to have voices. Yet somewhere beyond the threshold, a song begins.
It trembles like candlelight in a draft. But the sound is raw and deep, shaped from the dark the way light shapes a prayer.
Her heart stops pretending to be steady.
The music moves like water beneath stone.
When she looks toward him, he’s unaware she listens. The shadows lean close around him His hands, beautiful, rest against the hilt of the blade.
And for one small moment, she does not see the spymaster. She sees the boy the dark tried to keep.
And Azriel begins to sing...
How many times can a heart be broken before it begins to echo instead of beat? How many senses does madness require before it feels like devotion?
Do feelings ever earn their keep, or do they simply bloom to wither unseen? How many tears can the dark swallow before it floods with its own grief?
Do we live again, you and I or do we only wake because pain demands witness? Tell me what does time truly heal, and what does it merely hide?
I am your seventh sense, the hush beneath your fall, the mirror you do not face.
You are the prophecy disguised as mercy, the thread of dawn sewn through my dusk, a strip of light that refuses to die.
I am one of your colors choose me, wear me, fade me if you must. I will tell you every secret you never asked to know, and paint for you the dreams I do not understand only feel, like sunlight touching shadow.
The song ends before she remembers to breathe.
Gwyn stands caught in it, heart stuttering between beats. She knows she should not have listened. The song was not meant for her, not for anyone. It feels too bare, too sacred. Something in her aches to stay.
She turns before the shadows can notice her. The air feels heavy as she passes through it, thick with the echo of his voice. Every step is a betrayal of stillness. Outside, the wind finds her again. It tastes of night and steel and something sweet she cannot name. She presses a hand to her throat, where the music still hums, quiet as a secret and walks faster, as if distance could undo what she’s heard.
Behind her, the training ring sleeps. And in its dark, the song he’d sung for her, every note a piece of her name, keeps burning, soft and low, like a dawn that refuses to let the night forget her.
The one thing we can be most certain of is the inevitable meeting of Gwyn and a pegasus
