So, now that this is out of the way, here comes the update on me.
First of all, mom is doing pretty good considering the fact she has had some health troubles and all. She is still having some issues, which is why I am still there at her place helping out her and my brother for as far as I can. But, she is slowly improving an dgetting better!
When all things seemed to calm down enough, I started to have some trouble with my chronic health thingies and , well... I just really was pissed and annoyed, but hung in there and had my pain medication increased a little, it is helping and going better. Pain attacks and just simple attacks from Fibromyalgia and such are happening, but it is more manageable now.
In november I managed to go to the Comic Con again, and ofcourse I bought me some nice SW thingies ( duh ), including a nice food bowl for Boba Catt and a nice lill harness for the summer time when we go out and about! It was awesome and I enjoyed it while missing my lill love bug Boba.
Back in December we had a huge scare though. My dad was hospitalised and we found out he had some serious heart issues. He needed to get angiaplasty, which is to unblock some arteries at the heart. He has several severly blocked arteries and the surgery was high risk. I was in and out of the hospital for him every day, but he made it! He is doing very well now, but they did warn him that a new atatck might not end well. We take things one day at a time and he seems to have taken the warning to heart and is doing his best.
Now, to end this tale of woe is me with something good!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boba Catt, who is doing very well has also gotten a little brother! In December I picked up this little farm cat who is 3 months younger and the moment they met? They were thick as thieves! In the pictures you will see my beloved redhead Boba and his little brother: Jango Catt !
I really will be back again here and have so much to catch up on and enjoy. You can bet that each time I receive an update on all those awesome stories, I smile and know I will have lots to enjoy once I am back home, have things sorted and can really sit down and read nonstop!

I have been away a while from this site and all the amazing stories that I enjoy so very much, but with very good reason!
The not so fun part is that I have a mom who has some heart issues, but we are positive that we will soon hear it is getting better for her and that she will do much better too. Ofcourse I have been staying with her and my brother to help out. I also managed to actually break my toe while there and I had to get that to get better too lol.
The best thing though: I am very proud to introduce you to my new house mate: Boba Catt! Born May 22 he is now my lill big guy who will live with me and join me at moms place when I go there and usually stay there in the weekends.
Hoping to see you all again soon and sinding you a purr and a cuddle from Boba,
Currently, we are between melting and suffocating from the weird heat we have in this country. Somehow , our spring and summer can never be a little normal, but have to start off with extremes when it comes to weather in our type of climate.
Currently, we have summer heat , which would be great, but here we have more moist in the air and it is hell for those with , for example COPD. My mom having this is not having a good time.
Brother and I are taking care of her ofcourse. Instead of being home, I am staying with them and helping out. Silver lining: despite the weird weather and the effect it has on people, we still manage to have good times and enjoy things as much as possible.
Currently binging Cold Case series, oldie but still good to see while hanging on the couch and hoping for something cool lol.
When the weather permits, we take mom out in the wheelchair and enjoy a little walk or go to the stores and just enjoy spring/summer.
The cats from my moms neighbours also seem to enjoy the outdoors and the fence, always great fun with these 2 around!
So in short: I might not be as active right now, but I blame the weather and the fact that I am between melting and wanting to jump into the fridge and read a book there ....

So a Wrecker one shot i made. I think there is far more to the man then has been shown until now and i hope that we will get to see more in depth about all of our sweet Batch in season 2 ( and yes I mean all of them when i say Batch! Crosshair included! )
The Havoc Marauder always seemed as a small home to you all. There was enough space to sit and relax, sleep after a mission or work while underway to whatever planet it was the lot of you would go to, to earn some credits. It was a home away from home, even though you also had a new home base on Ord Mantel. The Marauder was that bit more special because it was the last part of home that the guys had left after defecting from the Empire. Today it seemed to be a refuge for one of the guys and you were glad it was parked on Ord Mantel. Now at the very least, you could spend some time with him, without having to worry that one of the others would walk in on the two of you, without having to worry that he would shut you out again.
“Wrecker….” You walk up to the man currently sitting with his back against the wall of the Marauder. It took you a minute to realise he had taken refuge in the hull and you would not let him get away with withdrawing himself from you again.
“Wrecker, you know you can talk to me right? If not me, then you should find someone to talk to. Please Wreck, don't shut me out.” You slide down next to him on the floor and put a hand on his arm.
When he turns his head to you, you see his watery smile. As much as he is always the cheery and positive man around his family, he now seems to have withdrawn from it all to suffer alone. “I… I don't know where to even start Mini.”
Mini, the name he has given you when you first met and it never left. It became his sweet nickname for you, knowing that you never felt secure about yourself. You had always been well aware you were more weighty then most of the women crowding around the troopers at 79s and all the women flocking towards the men of the Bad Batch whenever they showed up in a bar. The clones who were the majority of the visitors to 79s never looked at you as someone different because of looks though and Wrecker and his brothers were very quick to point out how sweet they found you and how special you had become to them when you joined their little family. To Wrecker you were the most beautiful person in the galaxy as well. He named you Mini, because compared to him, almost everyone was small and you were no different in that. Softly patting his arm you tell him to start where he wants to start.

“I guess, I just wonder where it all will end, or when it all will end. Omega is still just a kid ya know? She is growing up fast, but she is supposed to be a kid. She should be playing with other kids and having fun, bringing home stray animals as pets and kiss a special someone…. Well not kiss, that would not be alright with me and the guys, but when she is older…. But she is learning how to fight and kill now and she is a fugitive with us. It ain't right.” He almost shouts out the words, as if it was blocking his every thought and had to be thrown out there. “I know it wouldn't be much of a life on Kamino for her and all, but still… Is this the right thing to do for her? To keep her with us where she is always in danger?”
You know it is a sentiment that all of the men have had at one point, but Wrecker who bonded strongly with the young girl, as the older brother, felt strongly protective of his little sibling and feared greatly for her safety. With what you hoped to be a reassuring smile you look at him. “Wreck, I know you worry. But this is also Omega`s choice. You all wanted to give her a chance at a more normal life with Cut and Suu. She chose to be with you and live her life with you. You are her family and family is all that matters to her and to you.”
For the first time he grins. “Yeah, she is stubborn ey? Guess she has that in common with us.” Reaching to his side, he grabs a bag of his favorite snack, most times shared with the young girl after a mission. “Want some Mantel Mix too? “ He offers you the bag and you grab a handful of the mix. Popping some in his mouth he chews while staring at the wall opposing you. “Remember how we first got to talk? It was in the hull of the Marauder as well.”

You had been travelling with the guys for a while now, getting used to the day to day business and to being somewhat of a sister figure to Omega. You were no warrior, no clone and no mechanic or medic. You were just the person who was easy in making connections with people when you decided to give it a real try and you knew how to prepare meals from whatever was lying around that was edible. And even more important, you befriended the Bad Batch and covered for them when it was first announced they had defected from the Empire. Knowing how close you had grown to the men, you were under investigation and the guys quickly decided to get you away from the Empire's clutches as fast as they could.
Each of the Batch had grown rather attached to you and Omega clung to you, especially when it came to doing the girly stuff. You enjoyed it immensely but it was Wrecker who surprised you the most. The man had always been considered a simple person that loved explosions and fighting and having his sweet snacks. He could party like the best of them and that was all there was to him. Boy, did he surprise you when you walked in on him one night.
You had been on the way to some remote planet in the Outer Rim. The possibility of finding an ally or foe was small and you needed supplies. Tech and Echo were in the cockpit as usual while Crosshair and Hunter were sound asleep. Omega shared her private sleeping space with you and after a long talk and reading a fantasy story she finally fell asleep. Lula was tucked snugly in with her after which you softly stepped down a ladder and moved to grab something to drink. You stumbled in on Wrecker, concentrated on something on a pad and not hearing you enter the hull. “What ya doing Wreck?” Carefully moving around a crate, you stand beside him and look down.
“Y/N ! You surprised me!.” He quickly puts the pad beside him and looks up to where you stand. I was, well… I was reading something.” He scratches his neck and a slight blush creeps up on his cheeks as he looks at you.
Tilting your head you slide down beside him. “What are you reading?”
For a moment he seems to be debating whether or not he should let you know. Then, he grabs the pad and hands it over to you. When you look at the text displayed you look up. “Wreck, I didn`t know you were interested in this.”
He shyly smiles at you as he takes the pad back. “I like to read about things… Do you know about this man? Asimov? He is really smart. I thought maybe… There is something we can use from what he writes when we face clankers and all.” The sincerity in his voice surprises you a bit.
“I won't say I understand everything this man writes, but it is very interesting. Honestly, I prefer reading different kinds of stories. Romantic novels, historic stories or thrillers and all that. Biographies can be very interesting too and sometimes it can still teach us still I guess.”
Wrecker nods at your every word and a smile beams at you. “You love reading too! Why didn't you tell me? We could share favorites and talk about them if you want? I mean, if that's something you'd like?”
From that moment on, the two of you would share time together whenever you could to talk about the latest story you discovered, about the things either of you did not understand and the other could explain or just reading the same book. More than once it happened that the others would walk in on the two of you, you with your head against him, him with his head in your lap or the other way around, just enjoying the stories you were reading or discussing the stories. Those moments were also the start of Wrecker opening up even more to you about the past and sometimes about his deepest feelings and fears.

Now right here in the present, you realise that the man you came to love for his love of life and his hidden, deeper layers of personality is severely struggling with everything that has happened up until now. And he needed to work through it, alone and with you. Carefully you lay your head against him. “What else is wrong Wreck? I know it is not only Omega you worry about. You always shut people out when things bother you and you retreat to wherever you can go to vent.”
Wrecker inhales deeply and shifts to wrap his arm around you. “You know Mini, there is so much that happened. Omega is young and a fugitive with us, my chip activated and I almost killed them! Crosshair…. well you know his chip also activated and we lost him for a little while. I`m just happy we got him back again, but he has a lot to work through and he still blames us sometimes. And you….. Mini, you are not safe with us either. They will hurt you if they ever get you. I don't want you to get hurt Mini. I mean, we all have been injured on jobs and stuff, but you and Omega? I would die if something happened to either of you!”
You can hear his heart race as he speaks and feel his body shudder at the thought of you and Omega getting hurt somehow. But, you let him vent every bit of emotion, every bit of anger and fear he has deep inside of himself. He finally decided to open up and let this out. He decided to let you be the one to hear every thought and every struggle he has been fighting with on his own. To so many people he appeared to be a simple man, but you knew better. You knew all too well how many layers there were to this gentle giant.
Pulling away from his body you sit up on your knees in front of him. “Wrecker. You are the most gentle man I have met. You care so deeply for your own and you would sacrifice all that you have and all that you are to ensure their safety. People always judge you by your so-called defects, but Wreck…” Carefully you place a finger under his chin and lift it. “You are a man with so many layers to discover. Beside your sweet and gentle nature, your love of explosions and bets with Cross on who can destroy the most clankers and your deep affection for your family, there is so much more. You are smart, Wrecker. You have an intelligence that defies the understanding of those who always considered you only by your CT number and purpose. And Wreck? You are also the only man I truly, deeply, love.” You place a gentle kiss on his lips as you look him in the eyes.
As you pull back from him, a grin forms around his lips. Without any warning he embraces you and then stands up and slings you over his shoulder. With a high pitched yelp from you, he walks out of the Marauder and into the streets of Ord Mantel. “Time to treat you to some proper dinner, my sweet Mini!”
Before he lowers you back to your feet, he kisses you with a smile.
Out in the back, a man grins and turns around. You only see a glimpse of a red bandana, as Wrecker walks off with his arm wrapped tightly around you. Your Wrecker, a man of deep devotion and many layers to him.

Oh my oh my, my dear and sweet Candy!
My favorite way to wind down is actually favorite ways! I love to read ofcourse but beside that I also love watching series and movies and also to do some diamond painting. It is all so relaxing and sometimes I find myself unable to decide which I want to do haha.
My favorite song right now? I have many, but I have been trying to sing a long in a different language for a while now and that is Japanese. So, because of my love for some anime and manga, I have been trying to sing along to some of the anime songs like Tot Musica from Ado.
As for favorite foods I swear by, now as a fan of Star wars I have been trying out some of the foods from the cookbook and I must say, Mandalorian Stew ( minus the potatoe ) is a huge favorite and a comfort food to me. I also love chicory that is cooked and then rolled into a slice of ham and perhaps a little bit of cheese and then heated up in a pan with some mashed potatoes. That is a dish we always have for christmas here and sometimes just because we love it. We used to have it layer by layer in the oven until the oven died and we used a pan instead lol.
I am doing well, though right now it is bloody hot here in the Netherlands and I feel like not moving an inch haha. Thank you so much sweet Candy!

Her meal as well as a plate of identical food remained untouched as she kept her gaze to the depths. Every ripple of its surface a reminder of the mounting minutes that her company kept her waiting.

The young woman stifled a yawn as she continued to work the mass of dough to her standards to be plopped into pans to bake. 1. "I Can Help With That" (Hunter x fem reader)
The Bad Batch scrambled onto the Marauder with you in tow behind them. Wrecker and Tech were helping carry Hunter in the ship while you, Echo and Crosshair were helping keep your assailants at bay. Hunter had just been shot in the back of his shoulder by one of the pirates chasing you as you were trying to get away. You all had to hurry and get away fast. Tech got the ship powered up while Wrecker took Hunter to his room in the back. Very soon, you got away from the planet and made the jump to hyperspace with everyone on board safely.
2. "Hear Your Voice" (Crosshair x fem reader)
Crosshair was the most aggravating man you'd ever met.
Yet you just couldn't stop thinking about him.
3. "Where You Want To Be" (Hunter & Omega platonic)
"Omega, what are you saying?"
Hunter couldn't understand what the young Clone was trying to tell him, though he had a slight inkling of what it could be. He just didn't want to believe it was true.
4. "Coruscant Nights" (Rex x GN reader)
Living on Coruscant, the night life was nothing short of crazy most nights. Especially with the crowd you usually spent time with.
A lot of nights, your friends would want to go to bars or clubs, most of the time wanting to try new ones. Well, on one particular fateful night, your friends wanted to try out the Clone bar, 79's.
That was the night you met him...the handsome Captain.
5. "One of Us" (Crosshair & Wrecker platonic)
For the Bad Batch, breaking Crosshair and Omega out of Tantiss was, indeed, difficult, but a task they undertook nonetheless. Their family was in trouble and it was up to them to get the two of them out. They had quite the firefight on the way out, but with great luck, they managed to not only escape, but greatly hinder the experimentation that was going on in Mount Tantiss. The Empire's efforts might've been temporarily thwarted, but it was a good start to fighting against them.
6. "An Order From a Princess" (Hunter x fem reader)
This was a type of mission that the Bad Batch were not used to.
They had been assigned to be a security detail for an important mission for a Princess of one of the planets of the Inner Rim…which was you. You were a woman of great beauty and enchanting eyes; it was bragged you were the fairest woman in the entire kingdom. When they met you, you were told to select one of them to also be your personal bodyguard. It was hard to choose, as they all seemed more than capable ot the task, but you went with your gut and made you choice.
You chose Sergeant Hunter.
7. "Governess" (Howzer x fem feader)
“Hera? Hera! Hera! Where are you, child?”
You cried out for the young Twi’lek girl in your charge as you wandered outside on the top balcony of the Syndulla household, wondering where she had wandered off to. The child was always getting into mischief along with her C1 unit Droid, who you swear had more sass and attitude than the girl herself. You’d done your daily lessons with her and then let her be so you could prepare dinner for her as well as Cham and Eleni, the girl’s parents, who would be expected to return soon. Of course, of all the times for Hera to disappear, it had to be just before her parents came home. Though, they most likely wouldn’t be surprised, but even still, it was embarrassing for you to appear as though you’d lost their daughter. The sun was just beginning to set, coloring the sky a deep gold and orange, and you hoped you’d find Hera before it got too dark.
8. "The Words You'd Never Say" (Tech x fem reader)
You were frantic with worry over Tech.
It had been a rough mission for you guys on Serenno. You, Tech, Echo and Omega had gotten stuck in a container on a cargo freight ship while trying to steal from the late Count Dooku's war chest and upon re-entry, a heavy box had fallen on Tech's leg, injuring him. You'd found temporary refuge with a Serennian man from the Imperials searching for you guys, but then Omega had disappeared, having gone back for the war chest. Echo went after her and Tech tried to, as well, but you told him to stay behind since he was injured and went with Echo. Well, the fool didn't listen to you and went after you guys anyway. You saw him nearly get gunned down by Imperial troopers and with every shot that almost hit him, your heart caught in your throat and your fear of losing him skyrocketed.
9. "Fake Boyfriend 2.0" (Hunter x fem reader)
Another successful mission was under your belt for you and your squad, the Bad Batch. You were all back on Ord Mantell at Cid's parlor and wanted to just take some down time, getting drinks and relaxing before Cid threw another mission at you. You were sitting on a barstool with your back to the bar and Hunter was next to you, his arm draped across the bar behind you. He might as well have had his arm around you with how close his hand was to your arm. You and Hunter had a habit of flirting with each other quite a bit, but you had the feeling that it wasn't anything serious for him. He probably saw it as just playful fun, though it definitely was real for you. You'd developed feelings for him a long time ago, but he was so caught up in leading his squad and protecting all of you that he most likely didn't have time or room in his mind for any sort of romantic feelings. That's probably why the flirting was just fine for him and, even though you felt nothing would come of it, you accepted it.
10. "Braving the Storm" (Waxer x fem reader)
Ever since you were a young girl, you had a fear of thunderstorms.
The sounds of the thunder reminded you of your home planet…of the explosions you’d heard for several days as the Separatists bombed your city until there was practically nothing left. You, your family and your people had been forced to leave your home and immigrate to other cities or even other planets to survive and start your lives anew. You found yourself eventually on Coruscant where you studied to be a technician as well as an engineer and, when you were older, you were assigned as a field tech and engineer for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. You started off in the general field, but then were assigned specifically to the 212th Clone battalion. Strangely enough, explosions on the battlefield didn’t bother you at all and it was probably because you could see them in front of you. The sounds of thunder were unseen and from an unknown point of origin, which was what reminded you more of the bombings of your childhood.

“Okay, okay. Try another one.”
Four beeps.
“That’s… eight.”
S0-D4 — Soda — chirps happily before switching back to its lower tone. Another four beeps: one short, two long, and one short again.
Cherise closes her eyes, trying to envision the screen Soda uploaded on her datapad earlier.
“Fif— no, sixteen!”
Soda chirps again, the lights around the top of its body lighting up erratically.
Cherise grins from her spot on the floor, knees tucked up to her chest as she leans against the wall. She doesn’t have many reasons to be in her combination-office-bedroom. Usually, she’s just here to sleep, or to slip through the secret shelving door — yes, she made it into a door — into the communication hub.
This evening is a bit different. Since Cherise arrived in Astilbe, there have been a handful of mild dust storms. They’re more of a nuisance than anything — transports shouldn’t really travel, and people should stay inside. That means no customers today. But because of Amaronthe’s mineral-rich surface, metal particles get swept up in the storm and cause a bit of extra chaos — primarily, shorting out comm connections. That means no transmission monitoring today, either.
She can’t reach anything outside of the atmosphere, but her technology is sophisticated enough that she could still connect to pretty much anywhere on the planet. But when a strong storm rolls in, it shuts down everything else in the town.
The dust storm currently rolling through Astilbe is the fiercest Cherise has ever seen.
With no customers, and no sign of the storm letting up anytime soon, Cherise decided to spend the day working on communicating with her new droid.
When she cleared the layers of dirt from Soda’s shell, she learned that the droid didn’t actually have a paint job. It didn’t seem to mind, but Cherise ordered in some paint and pigment anyway. Once it gets here, maybe Soda will change its mind.
Cherise knew different droids had different programming, but she didn’t know that meant they also had such distinct personalities. Soda is shy. Its beeps were so quiet for the first few days that Cherise thought there might be something wrong with the volume control, but she soon learned that Soda’s quietness had more to do with its reluctance than technical error. After she installed a compatible scomp link into her main computer, she’d finally been able to understand what it was saying. The words appeared on the screen like a text message.
New place, the text read. Not much technology.
“What planet were you on before?” Cherise asked.
Coruscant.
She couldn’t help but laugh. “Yeah, that’s definitely a big change. I lived there for a while. I bet it’s strange going from there to here.”
Soda beeped loudly in affirmation, which translated to Cherise’s screen as: YES!!!!!!!!
She laughed again. In her communication hub with no one but Soda around, it was a strange sound. Unfamiliar. Nostalgic.
A series of excited noises joined in her laughter.
You have technology!
Cherise wondered briefly if she had just made a fatal mistake. No one was supposed to know about her comm hub. She wasn’t exactly doing legal things with it. But Soda was so excited to see it all — the terminals and scramblers and transmitters and control panels — that she didn’t have the heart to tear the little droid away from it.
She did explain that the room was a secret, and that she would get in trouble if anyone found out. Some of Soda’s shyness came back when it inquired about what exactly she was doing. So… she pulled up Wolffe’s profile on the Imperial system and said she was looking for someone. And that, along the way, she was trying to help people when she could.
Soda has been on her side ever since.
But Cherise can’t scomp Soda into a datapad — not yet, at least — and she can’t exactly afford an automatic translator yet. So, they’ve been figuring out what binary would be best for Cherise to learn. Numbers have been the main thing so far. The rim around Soda’s head is practically perfect for serving drinks and bringing back empty glasses, and Cherise is working on a way to wirelessly connect the droid to the bar’s digital system. But if the customers need Cherise, for whatever reason, it would be helpful if Soda could let her know which table she needs to go to.
There’s actually a whole lot Soda could do to make Cherise’s job easier — but she has to remind herself to take baby steps.
She really, really needs to take baby steps.
The rapid, turbulent changes in her life are starting to take a toll on her. It’s like she’s been running on adrenaline ever since she left Taanab, and now she’s running on fumes. She’s exhausted all the time, and the lack of sleep is making her jumpy and unfocused. Honestly, Soda is going to be a lifesaver. She doesn’t know how much longer she can go on like this before breaking down and falling into a hole that no technology can pull her out of.
Every time she thinks she’s on the brink of finally being comfortable, something comes along to knock her back to the dirt. Often, it’s financial — something in the bar breaks and she has to replace it, or the end of the month comes around and she has to transfer hundreds of credits out of her accounts. Yes, money is coming in — but it’s flying out just as quickly.
Other times, it’s with the community. Befriending Renae has been an absolute blessing on its own, and Cherise cherishes the time they get to spend together. But she still can’t seem to connect to the town any more than that. Nel still won’t entertain a conversation with her. No matter how much she tries, or how many drinks she offers, no one offers her much more than a polite dismissal.
And then there’s Wolffe. Cherise never expects his profile to change, and she thought that would be enough to even out the violent anticipation in her chest. Still, there are days where checking the system and finding nothing just sets her off for the night.
Fuck, she misses him. On Coruscant, he was far from her whole life, but she can’t stop worrying about him. It’s not like when he went on missions or campaigns during the war. It’s knowing something terrible happened and not knowing if or when he’ll ever be safe again.
So, yeah. Cherise isn’t exactly thriving.
But she has Renae. She has Vesa. And now, she has Soda.
At least she isn’t completely alone anymore.
After a few more rounds of Soda quizzing Cherise, she unfolds her limbs and goes upstairs to check on the storm. It’s not supposed to pass until later tonight, but Amaronthe’s weather doesn’t always listen to the forecasts. That’s how they ended up with the storm in the first place.
While she does indeed see blowing rust clouds with flashes of silver, something else catches her eye.
Someone is out there.
Nel’s blue-grey skin is barely visible behind the clouds of dust rolling through the town, but Cherise can still see zher as zhe bursts out of the inn and sprints down the street. Cherise slides to the other side of the window and tries to see where zhe’s going in the middle of a storm — and in such a hurry.
Nel runs past the bakery, but doesn’t turn down the neighbourhood path. Instead, zhe practically breaks down the door to the health centre and stumbles inside.
Cherise frowns. In the past few months, she hasn’t seen Nel express a single emotion other than, well, bitchy. If she hadn’t just seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn’t believe that zhe could look so desperate about something. And if zhe’s desperate to get into the health centre…
Cherise doesn’t really know what she’s going to do yet, but she knows that she’ll need some sturdier clothes to protect her from the dust.
She pulls a jacket over her arms and throws the hood up over her head. She doesn’t have a scarf, but a long-sleeve shirt wraps around her head well enough to cover her mouth and nose. She fishes out a pair of safety glasses she got when she was still making the bar functional again and drapes another piece of fabric over her face.
Just as she’s slipping her boots on, she sees movement through the window. Nel is back — this time with someone else. Someone who seems to be wearing a white coat.
Cherise takes a breath and sprints across the street.
She debates knocking — because it’s Nel, and… well, it’s Nel — but decides on just pushing on the door and entering the front hallway. Even if she had knocked, no one would have answered.
It’s chaos.
There aren’t that many people in the room — just Nel and the doctor. What’s chaotic is that smack dab in the centre, Nel’s dog Meila is lying down on a collection of blankets, nosing at four tiny, squirming blobs.
Puppies.
Newborn puppies.
Like, really newly born puppies.
The doctor, Farren, is kneeling over Meila and making quiet soothing noises. He’s doing some kind of assessment, but Cherise has no idea what he’s looking for or what could possibly be wrong. Meila doesn’t look distressed.
Nel, on the other hand, is the model of distress. Zhe’s kneeling beside Meila, stroking her ears and watching Farren with unwavering concentration. Cherise can see the tension in zher shoulders from here, the rock-hard persona nowhere to be found.
But when Cherise unwraps her makeshift scarf and jacket, that persona comes right back.
“What are you doing here?” zhe hisses. Farren shushes Nel, and when Meila makes a little whine, Nel’s attention falls completely back to her dog.
Technically, zhe didn’t tell Cherise to leave, so she joins the other two on the ground, making sure to give Nel plenty of space.
“What’s wrong?” Cherise asks.
Nel, who seems to be distracted enough by Meila that zhe forgets to hate Cherise with zher entire being, speaks quietly.
“Meila wasn’t supposed to have her puppies yet,” zhe says. “I was going to take her into the city. But she started early, and it was going fine… but she hasn’t been able to get the last one out.”
Farren looks up at Nel apologetically. “I don’t know what I’ll be able to do here,” he says softly. “I’m sorry.”
“Just do something,” Nel snaps, but Cherise is pretty sure zhe knows that Farren’s hands are pretty much tied.
She looks over at Farren. “We can’t contact a vet?”
Nel apparently remembers who Cherise is as zhe shoots daggers at her.
“You think I wouldn’t have thought of that?” zhe spits out. “It’s a fucking sandstorm. We can’t contact anyone.”
Cherise chews on her lip. She forgot that only equipment as advanced as hers would be able to get through this mess — and that no one else would bother to have invested in such expensive technology when they’re usually so connected.
She shouldn’t. Nel’s probably looking for any reason to get her out of this town. But she can’t just sit here, knowing she could do something, and choose not to.
“I can help,” she says.
Nel just rolls zher eyes. “You don’t know what you’re talking about. Just get the f—”
“I can help,” Cherise insists.
Nel narrows zher eyes at her tone, but when Meila whines again, zhe can’t help but soften a little.
“Do you trust me?” Cherise asks.
Zhe doesn’t miss a beat. “Not in the slightest.”
Cherise sighs. That’s what she thought zhe would say.
“I guess I’ll have to trust you then,” she mumbles.
Before Nel can answer, Cherise pushes herself to her feet.
“I’ll be right back.”
She bundles herself up and darts out the door. It’s definitely not a good idea to give someone who hates her guts a reason to call the cops on her, but she has to do something. Besides, maybe Nel will be just grateful enough to ignore Cherise’s suspiciously sophisticated technology.
She doesn’t bother taking anything off before rushing into the basement. Soda gives her a quizzical set of beeps, but she heads straight into the communication hub.
“It’s alright,” she calls back at the droid as she searches for the pieces she needs. “I’m going to boost a call through the system. Can you man the controls?”
Soda sounds nervous, but Cherise doesn’t have time to hook it up to the translator. She just shoves everything she needs in a bag, zips it all up, and races back up the stairs, out the door, and across the street.
This time, she coughs on a mouthful of dust when she stumbles into the inn. Both Nel and Farren snap their heads over to her, but she can’t bring herself to care.
She ignores their questions and spreads out her equipment on the floor. This should work. Cherise’s handheld comm has been boosted enough that it should be able to connect to her main console, even through the storm. The console itself will definitely be able to connect to Cyfada — as long as the storm isn’t affecting that city too.
After snapping the pieces into place, the device lights up instantly. Cherise has a feeling Farren and Nel are mumbling about her, or at least sharing confused looks. Again, she ignores them.
“Soda? Can you hear me?”
It’s a bit fuzzy, but Cherise can still make out a series of beeps and whistles from the little droid.
“Can you connect us to the frequency I left open?”
An affirmative beep. More static. Then, after around thirty seconds, another voice crackles through the comlink.
“Cyfada Pet Hospital, how can I help you?”
Cherise finally looks over at Nel, meeting zher eyes as she speaks into the microphone. “Hi. I have a dog here who’s delivered four puppies, but she’s unable to deliver the last one.”
“One moment, please.”
The line fills with static again, and Cherise slowly offers the comlink to Nel. Zhe stares hard at Cherise, lips pressed together so tightly they’re almost turning white. Zhe definitely doesn’t trust her.
When a voice comes through the comm, Nel snatches the device from Cherise’s hand and starts speaking into it. Cherise’s blood surges with adrenaline as she watches Nel and Farren take turns explaining what’s going on and answering the vet’s questions. She can’t quite hear what the vet’s saying, but judging by the concern on both of their faces, it’s not going so great.
Suddenly, Farren grabs the comm from Nel and speaks a little louder.
“I’m a doctor— yes, we do. What’s the dose? Where do I—? Okay. Okay.”
He hands the device back to Nel and rushes past Cherise and out the door. Meila tilts her head back to where Farren had been resting his hand, and Cherise doesn’t think twice before moving to fill the space. She strokes Meila’s soft golden fur and the dog nuzzles her head further into Cherise’s touch. She dares a glance up at Nel, who’s staring at her with slightly narrowed eyes.
Slightly narrowed is better than fully narrowed, at least.
“What’s going on?” she asks softly.
Nel looks back down at Meila. “She needs medicine,” zhe says. “Her muscles can’t contract enough to get the pups out.”
Meila shifts on the blankets, squirming closer to the puppies resting in the basket.
“The vet said they would usually administer oxytocin,” Nel continues. “Farren’s going to prepare an injection. It should strengthen Meila enough to get the last pup out.”
Cherise nods.
The two sit in silence. Cherise doesn’t know what else she could ask without worrying Nel more, and she doesn’t exactly think zhe’d appreciate small talk — right now, or ever. Besides, she’s learning more about Nel than she would if she tried to make conversation. The way zhe looks at Meila is enough to tell Cherise that Nel isn’t nearly the stone-cold person that told her off on her very first day in town.
There’s softness there. Hopefully Nel decides to use it when considering if zhe should call the cops on Cherise.
Farren bursts through the door again, and Cherise scrambles backwards to give him room. Soon, he’s given Meila the injection, and there’s nothing to do but wait.
None of them speak. Cherise suspects that Nel would ask her to leave if zhe didn’t think they would need the comlink to call the vet again. She’s fine just to be here and help in whatever way she can, and right now, she can help by being quiet.
She rests her head back against the wall and releases the tension in her shoulders. Even as they fall from their spot tightened beside her neck, it still feels rock-hard. A little bit of stress, she thinks. The ceiling lights are bright, a little too bright, so she lets herself close her eyes. She’s only going to rest for a moment, then she’ll sit back up… then she’ll pay more attention…
Cherise snaps her head up at the sound of Meila’s whining. She has no clue how much time has passed — it could have been a minute, it could have been an hour. She rubs the bleariness from her eyes and tries to take in the situation in front of her.
Nel and Farren have shuffled around a little. Instead of resting gentle, comforting hands on Meila’s fur, Nel is kneeling in front of Meila’s belly. Her whines are getting louder, more like little howls than anything else, and Cherise finally notices the smile on Nel’s face. Zhe’s muttering to the dog, quiet words of encouragement that Cherise can only catch bits and pieces of.
By the time Cherise pushes herself off the wall and kneels down closer to Meila, the dog has stopped whining — and Nel is holding a tiny puppy in zher hand, goopy and still partly covered in membrane. Meila reaches around and noses at the little pup, licking it all over until Cherise can hear tiny, high-pitched whimpers.
It’s like they all breathe a simultaneous sigh of relief — Cherise, Nel, Farren, Meila and even the new pup as it takes its first breaths in this world.
Nel gently towels the newborn puppy before setting it fully down in front of Meila, watching as it instinctively squirms to its mother’s belly. The other four pups have seemingly had their fill of milk and are nestled together closer to Meila’s chest, snuggled into her warmth.
Nel slips off zher gloves and leans in to scritch Meila behind the ears.
“You did so good,” zhe whispers. It’s impossible not to hear the pride in zher voice.
When Farren stands again, Cherise comes back to herself a little. Now that she has served all of her usefulness, Nel surely wants her gone. She starts to quietly disassemble the boosted comlink and pack the pieces back into the bag. After this ordeal, Meila and her puppies probably need some quiet anyway, and the presence of a near-stranger might put them on edge.
But she can’t hide the way she looks at the little family of dogs on the floor. Meila’s golden fur is found on all the puppies, but they all have some degree of black patches, presumably from whoever the father was. They’re just a bunch of blobs right now, huddled together in the safety of their mother’s protection — a mother who just looks so happy as she watches over the little ones. Meila looks at Cherise and smiles in that goofy way dogs do, with her mouth open and her eyes scrunched a little. Cherise beams back at her, happy that at least she hasn’t stressed Meila despite all the chaos.
Nel follows Meila’s gaze, and Cherise’s smile fades. Zhe doesn’t say anything — just watches as Cherise gives zher a small nod, wraps her outerclothes around her, and walks back into the sandstorm.
At the very least, Nel won’t be able to report Cherise’s suspicious activity until the storm dies down. That also means that Cherise is going to have to wait even longer to see what fate Nel is bestowing upon her.
Yeah, it’s going to be a long night.
The sun rises, and no one busts down Cherise’s door.
She eats a protein pod, and no one comes to arrest her.
When she opens the bar in late afternoon, the people who walk in don’t point blasters at her.
It’s still too early, she reminds herself. It’ll probably be tomorrow.
Over the past few months, Cherise has stopped waking up afraid that the Empire has tracked her down. It’s still possible, of course, but the knowledge doesn’t keep her up at night or make her hesitate to tap into Imperial signals. Even when she told Renae about Wolffe, or talked to Vesa about her past, that fear didn’t extend long past the conversation. She’s not sure if she would describe it as feeling “safe,” per se. Maybe it was just that she accepted that this is how her life is now — living with risk and choosing not to let it paralyze her.
But if anyone in this town wanted her gone, it was Nel. And Cherise just served zher ammunition on a silver platter.
She could run. She thought about it. The storm only cleared overnight, so she would’ve only been able to leave this morning. Then what? She’d have to wait for a transport to leave town — and there aren’t any in Astilbe right now. It would more than likely be headed towards the farms, too, which meant that she could be tracked. She wouldn’t survive in the wilderness. She’d pass out before she even made it to Cyfada.
And… Cherise doesn’t really want to leave. Not after everything she’s done to make it here. It’s not just the bar, either. She has friends — only a few, but she doesn’t know that she could handle being fully on her own again. As hard as it is, Cherise likes living in Astilbe.
She just hopes Nel allows her to stay.
Cherise knows she’s distracted. Ironically, that’s the most dangerous part of all of this. When she’s like this, on autopilot with her mind racing, she’s not as aware of her surroundings. She could miss bits of an important conversation, let something slip as she’s talking to a customer, or completely miss an Imperial agent coming through the door.
That last one is arguably worse than if she missed Nel coming through the door.
Which she does.
Somehow.
At some point, Nel slipped in without Cherise seeing zher. Zhe takes a seat at the bar, looking as sour as Cherise has ever seen zher.
Perhaps zhe wants to be here to watch it all go down.
Might as well get it over with.
Cherise sticks her hands in her apron pockets — partly to make her look relaxed and aloof, partly because she’ll be fidgeting nonstop otherwise. She clears her throat.
“Can I get you a drink?”
Nel doesn’t even look at her. Zher grumpiness is back in full-force after yesterday, and zhe just stares at zher hands where they sit folded on the counter.
Cherise doesn’t understand why Nel has to be Theelin, of all species. Zhe doesn’t need the horns framing zher face to be intimidating— zhe could do that all on zher own. Zher dark hair is pulled back into a tiny bun at the back of zher head, leaving zher displeasure open for Cherise to take in.
She’s about to debate whether she should ask again or just move on when Nel finally speaks up.
“Gerty said you bought an air bed.”
Cherise blinks.
Did she… did she hear that right? Did she miss a word through Nel’s begrudging tone?
“Uh… yeah. I did.”
Weird that Gerty would have noticed that. Cherise has been into the hardware store plenty of times, but she never expected someone to be keeping track of her purchases. The thought makes the hair on the back of her neck stand up — what else could people know about her just from watching?
“Is it for you?” Nel grunts.
“...yes.”
Nel looks at her with an expression that clearly says: are you fucking kidding me?
“You’re living in the basement.” It’s not a question. It’s a realization — and a judgmental one at that.
Cherise looks around to see if anyone else is listening to their conversation. Luckily, everyone seems to be wrapped up in their own business.
“...yeah.”
Nel rolls their eyes in a way that almost makes Cherise jealous.
“You know we have houses, right?” Zhe says it as if zhe was saying: are you stupid?
Cherise fists her hands in her apron and forces herself to maintain eye contact.
“I know. But, uh, money is… tight.”
Nel looks away, but not out of awkwardness. Zhe looks around the bar, at the liquor bottles along the back wall, at Soda carrying empty glasses back to the bar. The intention is clear: if money is so tight, how could she afford all this?”
“I’m still paying off a lot of debt,” Cherise says quietly. “Everything I had went into this.”
When Nel looks back at her, she can’t keep zher gaze.
“This and that comlink thing,” Nel corrects her.
Cherise’s heart feels like it’s thudding in her throat, restricting her breathing and preventing her from saying anything more than: “Yeah.”
Now is when Nel signals the cops and they raid her basement. Now is when they question her for suspicious activity and discover that she’s not Riza Beckett, she’s Cherise Megnatta, wanted for treason on Coruscant. Now is when everything blows up in her face.
Nel grumbles so quietly Cherise almost believes zhe could be talking into a secret microphone. She can’t actually make out what zhe’s saying — not until Nel stands and grabs something from zher jacket pocket.
“I don’t let my neighbours live in their fucking basements.”
Zhe drops a small object on the counter and turns on zher heel. Zhe’s already out the door by the time Cherise realizes what the hell just happened.
Lying on the bar counter, clipped to a rusted metal tag, is a key.
It looks like it fits one of those old-fashioned doors, like the one at the bar. Frowning, Cherise picks up the key and tries to find a clue on it. The only thing that she can find is a faded number printed on the back of the tag: 36.
It feels cruel to use that number. But Nel couldn’t know about Wolffe — and even if zhe did, zhe definitely couldn’t know his CC number.
She has half a mind to run after Nel and demand to know what just happened, but she can’t just leave the bar. Sure, Soda’s around, but she wouldn’t leave him alone without telling him. Instead, she slips the key into her apron and tries to forget about it for the next few hours.

Resting your foreheads together, you close your eyes. Until he starts to pull away slightly.
“Don’t pull out.” You whisper. “Please.”
“Alright, I won’t.” Niner promises you as he pulls you down to the bed, still inside of you.
He lays against the wall with you in his arms, making room for Fi to join when he’s done. You suspect that Fi’s giving you a moment of privacy with Niner to talk.
“So, what now?” You murmur.
“Well, for what it’s worth, I think we’ve wasted enough time not being together and as long as you’ll have me, I’m not going anywhere.” He murmurs, kissing you again.
You smile against his lips, believing him. “Until your next mission.”
“Yeah, but you’ll be right there waiting, right?” His calloused fingers brush across your soft cheek.
“Until you come back to me.” You smile.
“Which I promise to keep doing.” He smiles right back.
“Both of us will.” Fi’s soft voice is behind you as he climbs into the bunk with you, resting his hand on your hip and squeezing gently before placing a kiss to your shoulder blade. You kiss both of them once more before drifting off into sleep, thinking about how lucky you are to get to experience this life with both of them. You just hope that their Kal’buir can make good on his promise and find Ko Sai in time so that you can experience a full life with them.
Can I maybe request one with the Reader being a Jedi and traveling with The Batch and she want‘s to learn how to shoot a Blaster and they do teach her but because of mutual attraction it is very hard to focus for both of them. (Maybe even with Rex?)

Hunter
"We learn to deflect blaster shots," you say, easily deflecting a shot from the training droid, with your lightsaber at a dummy, "But we don't usually learn to do any shooting ourselves."
Hunter offers, "I could show you."
You smile, deflect another shot and say, "That doesn't mean I don't know how to do it"
The sergeant shrugs.
"Then show me what you can do."
You shut down the droid, put away your lightsaber, and walk over to him. With a small smirk, you stand in front of him. In the Force, you can sense that there is a certain excitement beneath his surface, but you can't quite place it at the moment.
"So, Sergeant, what do you want me to do?"
Hunter draws his own blaster and places it in your hand, your fingers touching for a brief moment. The touch feels like a spark, a small electric shock, as if from a static charge. For a second you feel very clearly how intensely Hunter is focused on you, how fast his heart is beating, and your own makes a small, surprising leap.
You need a small moment to collect yourself. You realize that you don't necessarily see him with Jedi eyes, that you see more in him than you should, but until just now you didn't realize it was also the other way around.
You look at the weapon briefly, then open yourself to the Force, turn briefly to the dummies, and fire several quick shots, each shot a bull's-eye.
Looking back at him and seeing the puzzled expression on his face, you ask, "Are you okay?"
"I-yeah, I'm fine. I just thought you never learned how to handle it."
You smirk and remind him, "I also said that doesn't mean I can't."
He nods and says, "Okay, yes I remember, but…. that good?"
"The Force guides my hand. A big advantage on my part," you say, still smirking.
You place the gun back in his hand, again your fingers touch, but this time you maintain contact longer. You take in his feelings, his confusion, how impressed he is, but most of all, the feeling of how much he enjoys this little touch, how much he longs to let his hand move over yours, up your arm to your face. For a moment, you can almost feel him doing it. But Hunter is decent, playing by the rules, even if he doesn't want to here and now. For the moment, it remains a fantasy.
Very slowly, almost languidly, you finally pull your hand back from his. You hear him sigh softly and almost do the same. Your eyes meet, lingering on each other.
With a cautious smile, you ask, "Can you maybe teach me some other things?"
Hunter takes a moment, blinking, finally he smiles gently and says, "I'm sure we'll figure something out."
Wrecker
He watches you, as he often does. You feel his gaze on you, his fascination, his admiration for you are so honest, so open and intense that sometimes your heart beats faster. Wrecker adores you, and you can feel that abundantly clear in the Force.
But he's a good soldier, a decent man, he would never approach you without being asked, even if it's hard for him not to confess how much you mean to him by now. You sigh softly, take a deep breath, try to clear your thoughts.
"What about blasters?" you suddenly hear him ask.
You turn to face him.
"Blasters?"
Wrecker nods, pulls out his blaster and holds it out to you. You put your lightsaber away, step closer, and hesitantly reach for the weapon. You look at him questioningly, feeling that he's just trying to make contact with you, to spend time with you, and you feel flattered, but also nervous. You shouldn't actually like him as much as you do.
"You know how to handle that?"
You nod.
"Yeah, I think so"
You demonstrate your skills and Wrecker lets out an impressed whistle.
"Is there anything you Jedi can't do?"
You laugh softly and say, "There sure is a lot. For example, I barely know anything about explosives, grenades, and mines."
He laughs happily, thumps the crate he was leaning against and says, "You've come to the right place! I can teach you anything"
"You would do that?"
You can feel Wrecker radiating pure joy, joyful anticipation, and the feeling passes over to you, putting a smile on your lips.
"Of course. Little Jedi, I'll be happy to teach you everything I know"
You like it when he calls you that, it's so loving and full of affection.
Echo
He can't hide from you what he feels, even if most of the time you can't see it in any way, you feel the devoted longing he feels when he looks at you, thinks about you, it is omnipresent.
To the outside world no one would suspect it, Echo has himself under control, he is calm, reasonable, follows the rules. You've already caught yourself thinking about trying to draw him out.
During training, when he is watching you again more or less secretly, you speak to him. Echo almost falls off the ramp, startled, when you speak to him. He didn't expect you to have spotted him already.
He clears his throat, "Uh, yeah? How can I help?"
You pick up a training blaster and ask him to come closer.
"Would you teach me how to use this properly?"
Echo blinks, not responding immediately. His gaze drifts from your face to the blaster in your hand and back again. He seems puzzled, but he nods amiably and says, "Sure. What exactly do you want to know?"
"Well, anything important in theory," you say with a wry smile.
A small smile twitches at the corners of his mouth. Echo begins to explain to you how to load and unload the gun, and how to set the various modes, standing close to you, his eyes gazing deeply into yours every now and then. You can feel him looking forward to being useful to you.
"Understood so far?" he finally asks gently.
You nod.
"I think so"
"Maybe you should try it sometime, General".
There it is again, that impersonal word, that formal address. You know he's just doing what's theoretically expected of him, but you wish he'd call you by your name.
"What's the best way to aim?"
Echo stands close behind you, carefully grabs your hand and guides it. He talks, explains, you hear his voice, but the meaning of his words bounces off you, off the feel of his hand on your wrist, his chest against your back.
"General?" he finally asks in amazement.
"Yes?"
"Did you just hear what I said?"
There's a tingle under your skin, you look for an excuse and say as calmly as you can, "I'm sorry, I sensed something in the Force that I can't place, I'm not supposed to let it distract me, but every now, and then it still happens"
"Oh. I see. Do you want me to explain it again?"
You smile, the tingling under your skin getting stronger.
"'Please do."
A soft shiver runs through your body as his hand closes around your wrist again.
Tech
He's a little harder to read than others, his emotional world seems to function differently than you're used to from most. He is often completely silent, and the next moment he is radiating a thousand things. His thoughts are always in motion, and often you feel he can't quite reconcile his emotions with what he's thinking.
Sometimes it feels like he is stumbling, even though he is calm and clear. This happens more often around you. It takes a while, but you eventually realize that Tech is attracted to you, very much so. His way of evaluating and looking at things logically, gets in the way. He feels intensely, but differently. As said before, it's hard to read him, despite the Force.
But his nervousness always comes through quite clearly, noticeable in the Force. Tech stands near the training area, with his datapad in hand. His gaze wanders back and forth between you and the device in his hand.
He admires you, the elegance with which the Jedi fight, especially you. In his head, he automatically calculates how efficient your approach is.
As you finish and approach him, he says, "You were 20 seconds faster today."
You blink in surprise. But really, it shouldn't surprise you. Tech remembers everything, and it's actually typical for him to evaluate everything.
"Is that so?"
He pushes his goggles up the bridge of his nose with one of his, long, slender fingers and replies, "Indeed"
"Do you have any ideas on how I can be even more effective?" you ask with interest.
He looks at you in surprise, not expecting you to be interested in his opinion.
"Quite," he says with a small, barely noticeable smile.
Tech is on fire with the idea. He explains things to you, shows you a few things, touching your hands now and then to show you what he means. At the moment he radiates pure joy, he feels useful can be close to you, you listen to him.
He has a wonderfully lively moment with you, which you both enjoy very much. When you're done, you smile at him, sensing his curious, affectionate feeling for you.
"Maybe you can show me more things when you get a chance," you say softly.
Tech nods, delighted.
"I'd love to, General."
Crosshair
You perceive him as strangely reluctant. He's fascinated by you, in many ways, and at the same time he seems frustrated by it. There is always a restless wavering beneath his surface. He is attracted to you, but is all too aware of the prohibition of this feeling.
But still, he keeps coming to watch you train, and today is no exception.
"Effective," he says tersely, chewing on his toothpick.
"Thanks," you say with an implied smile.
He doesn't smile back; he almost never does.
You tell him with genuine interest, "I'm always amazed at how someone, without access to the Force, can be as effective as you."
Now a smirk does appear on his lips. He is flattered and that you of all people are giving him this compliment triggers a real wave of joy under his surface.
"Hmm, I was bred, trained and genetically programmed for this," he says, shrugging his shoulders as if it's nothing special.
"Still, your reaction time, your focus, your accuracy, are very amazing."
He laughs softly.
"I know."
He takes the toothpick out of his mouth and flicks it away. Then he takes his Firepunsher and holds it out to you.
"You want to try it?"
You blink in surprise and finally say, "I've never fired a gun like that before."
"I can show you," Crosshair offers.
A nervous tingle travels through your body.
"Okay. Teach me," you say with a small, nervous smile.
At first, you're almost overwhelmed, Crosshair seeking a lot of physical contact as he shows you the proper stance and what to do. Every little touch, every graze of his on your skin, leaves you with a hot, wild tingling sensation. You clearly feel that he feels the same way and have difficulty concentrating.
He is intense, you feel his hunger for more, that every touch is not enough for him, only ignites a longing for more. It makes you nervous, but still, you don't withdraw from him, on the contrary. Every contact is a small fire, a camouflaged caress, chaste on the surface but underneath, hungry and intense.
Finally, you stand there, both quite breathless, hearts racing and neither of you can really name why.
He asks, "You didn't understand a word I said, did you?"
"Hmm?"
Crosshair laughs softly and asks, "Again?"
You nod and say softly, "Again".
Rex
"General, if I may interject, you are holding the blaster far too tense".
You glance over your shoulder, you've felt his presence before and you've become nervous. You like Rex, more than you should, much more. Your desire to impress him has thrown you off track, destroyed your focus, and you've tensed up. You sigh softly.
"Of course you're allowed to weigh in, Rex, I always welcome your constructive criticism. I'm just not used to this kind of weapon."
Rex steps closer to you, removes his helmet and places it on a nearby crate. He smiles, a small, very gentle smile. For what feels like the thousandth time, all you can think about is how gorgeous he is.
He gently reaches out a hand to you and asks, "May I?"
His fingers touch yours, and for a moment, your whole body tenses.
"You need to relax a little," he says gently, leaning lightly against you from behind as he tries to loosen your fingers with his.
First you're too tense, then the blaster slips from your fingers. You laugh nervously and say, "Sorry."
"It's okay," Rex says gently, picking up the blaster again, and placing it back in your hand, "Just handle the blaster like you would your lightsaber, fluid but firm in your grip"
"That makes sense"
You get the hang of it, pleased that he is pleased with you, and at the same moment you regret that his lesson is over. However, you sense that he doesn't want to leave yet.
"Could you maybe show me again?" you ask cautiously.
His brows go up at first, but he nods, gets back into position, and gently guides your hand on the blaster. You sense something deep inside him, an affection so real and deep that it almost takes your breath away for a moment.
"Are you all right?" asks Rex with concern as you stiffen again.
You relax your muscles, take a deep breath, and say, "Yes, everything's fine, Rex."
