"This illness... Do you think it was sent by the old gods? It's too... unearthly to be from this world."
"Are you really sure about that?"
"We could try."
"When a girl says she wants a big rock, she doesn't literally mean, big rock."
"What a beautiful day"
"Me too. Especially since I have arrived to the Keep."
"You are new here as well? Oh, the road exhausted me!"
"The attacks on different Kingdoms? It would seem the creatures are beginning to become more.. pronounced. Hence why we’ve all turned to the Keep."
"The creatures? I always thought them to be... Well, not here."
She nodded. At least the events of the ball hadn’t frightened people to the point of complete and utter fear.. yet. Shrugging, Daria vaguely waved her hand around them. “I’ve grown up within the Keep. Aside from the attempt on my sisters life, things have remain the same.”
"Do you ever long for an adventure, like I do?" Phyllis asked, sighing, looking out in the distance. For a moment there, she wandered was Dione really fully stripped off her memories. Guess she was. It pained Phoebe to see her sister completely ignorant to who Phoebe really was.
"While I’d like to believe every seed of gossip has a hint of truth, I agree with you! All of the Balors I’ve had the pleasure to meet have been rather lovely. I, for one, can’t wait to hear all about life in the Ironmoor.”
"Well... My lady Alycia, there is truth in those seeds. Not every gossip is a lie, but every stoy has a somewhat true background, do you not agree?"
"Ah... Ironmoor. It is everything stories tell about it, but it is more pleasant to me than to the others. There, I do not have to pretend that we are a flawless and perfect family. The only person in Ironmoor I truly get along with is my husband Coleman."
"Are you lost, milady?"
"Would i ask what it was, if I am not lost?"
Phyllis’ words about Marcellus being fond of Astrid struck a chord in Ashlynn. Antony seemed to think so, too. Was it true? Part of her hoped it was and part of her wished Marcellus would just admit that he didn’t care for Astrid at all. “Regretfully I don’t know how she’s doing. I’ve not been able to see her but in any case I know it would be a long road to recovery. Poison is,” Ash thought for a moment, “A horrible thing.” The conversation turned to Coleman and Ashlynn nodded, a light in her eyes that might have seemed like sympathy. It was truly strategic curiosity. “I’d imagine you do. I’ve no husband of my own but if I did I’m sure being parted from him would be awful. Will he not come here, then? I’d have thought the entire family would want to attend the wedding.”
"it is horrible. Especially if, even though our marriage was arranged, the couple loves one another. Love is rare in a world like this, dear Ashlynn. If one finds it, one has to cherish it more than his or hers own life." Phyllis sighed, nodding.
"I believe he will attend the wedding, but I am currently unaware of his whereabouts. I think he is somewhere with lord Isiah." And that is never a good sign, she added to herself. Isiah had a horrible influence on him and she hated it. If only she could get Coeus away from Iapetos all would be a lot better for him. A lot better for them both.
"I am fairly new as well, but I do believe it looks like gardens?"
"Yes, but I do not remember this path. I feel like I am lost."
"Are you lost? Would you like me to assist you back to the castle, milady?"
"that would be so very kind of you."
"Oh, I feel so tired at times."
"What is this place?"
"I think it will be better when time passes. If we are capable of ridding of the threat that currently plague our lands, then it ought to be safe to return."
"Let us all hope. What is that strange plague sickening our land? My husband does not wish to tell me a thing about it."
She gave a short nod, clasping her hands behind her back as she regarded the woman before her. “Have you enjoyed yourself otherwise?”
"Yes, I have. Thank you for asking." Phyllis smiled. "And yourself? If we put aside your sister's terrible misfortune."
Phoebe | Flashback in the Ironmoor
Phyllis was sitting in her bedchambers, waiting for her husband to arrive from the hunt. Inside the grand castle she lived in, Phoebe didn't have to pretend not to remember anything. The war. Both Titans and Olympians falling to the dept of Tatarus. Other Titans, loyal to Cronus, rising. They held the Olympus and cast everyone out, including those who took no sides. Like she wanted to do.
She didn't want to be part of this absurd contest to rule as mortals. No. They were Gods, she and Coeus, and it was unspeakable horror to be unable to use their powers. Cronus was a fool. But, for the sake of her parents and her beloved husband, she forged her alliance to him. Phoebe was cornered and she took it only to keep an eye on Coeus. One mistake could cost him his head and she couldn't bare the thought of losing him again.
So she will wait. Maybe her family were uptight idiots, hungry for powers. Maybe she wanted for them to rule again, but she wasn't yet ready to pay the price for it. They will not destroy her. They will not destroy her husband, especially not Zeus, the rapist of her daughter Leto, and his bitch of a wife, Hera. Oh, no. The Olympians have that annoying habit to always win in every bloody battle and Phoebe will lurk. She will seize her change and pledge her loyalty to them once they're no longer stripped of their memories. Vain Olympians will forgive her and Coeus everything other Titans did and hey will be safe.
But, she will rest. If Cronus even suspects anything she is dead and so is Coleman. In the shadows she will lurk. And wait for her opportunity. She will always fight on the side of the winners. No more Tartarus, no more chains, no more solitude without her daughters and Coeus. No more.
Phyllis smirked when Coleman knocked on the chamber door, calling out for her. "Come in, husband dear."
