Hey, so like, the belief that Islam is inherently antisemitic is Islamophobic. Arguing that Arab people are inherently antisemitic is racist. It's no different than arguing that being Muslim or Arab makes a person inherently backwards, fanatical, violent, thieving, stupid, or evil. It's no different than arguing that being Muslim or Arab makes a person a terrorist. These are bigoted arguments that allow for the dehumanization of Muslim and Arab people. Which is precisely why this is the same logic that Israel, a white supremacist apartheid state, is using to justify its genocidal project against the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, and its large-scale imperial ambitions in the Middle East more generally.
How much money would it take to make up for what Israelis have done to Palestinians? What is the price of a Palestinian life? What price would resolve the grief of those left behind? What price would un-displace, un-rape, un-torture, un-crush, un-shoot, un-burn, un-explode, un-starve, unfreeze the hundreds of thousands of Palestinian men, women, and children Israelis have brutalized?
The impossibility of undoing what has been done, of righting the wrongs, of balancing the scales, is overwhelming. And yet so many among the Israelis and Israel apologists calling for peace argue that this is the solution, that Israel should simply pay reparations, and that will be enough for everyone to live and let live. Once reparations have been paid, Palestinians and Israelis can live in peace side by side, sing kumbaya day in and day out for the rest of eternity. I’m not Palestinian, and so I obviously don’t get to have a say on what justice looks like for them. But this solution seems to me to be not only unrealistic, but also deeply selfish and cruel.
Israelis stole Palestinians’ land, but they want to keep living on it? They stole their children, tortured their friends, murdered entire bloodlines, but they want to be their neighbors? Why would Palestinians ever trust them? How could they ever forgive them for what they’ve done live on all our phones in broad daylight? What right do Israelis have to live on land soaked in the blood of the people they have spent decades slaughtering? What right do they have to decide what justice looks like?
What is it that Palestinians want? To be clear, I’m not talking about the “good” Palestinians, the ones who have made themselves palatable to the Israeli oppressor class. I’m not talking about “respectable” Palestinians or moderate Palestinians whose opinions on the matter are designed to prioritize the comfort of Israelis. What do the majority of Palestinians actually want and how willing are Israelis to listen? If the majority of Palestinians want to live side by side with Israelis, great. But what if justice for Palestinians is the dismantling of the Israeli state? Would Israelis acquiesce? What if justice for Palestinians calls for their oppressors to leave the land they’ve stolen? Would Israelis agree? Or would they try to argue that such requests are antisemitic rather than reasonable reactions to decades of unspeakable violence?
I’ve seen so many Israel apologists saying that the real problem is that Egypt isn’t offering to take care of refugees from Gaza. They do this in order to deflect the blame for the crimes that Israel is committing. But let’s be so serious here. The problem isn’t Egypt, it’s Israel. Because there shouldn't be any fucking refugees to begin with. The solution isn't for Egypt to take care of Palestinian refugees. The solution is to end the apartheid, genocide, and ethnic cleansing being conducted by Israel (and all the countries aiding and abetting Israel's crimes). The solution is returning Palestine to the Palestinians. The solution is dismantling the genocidal, white supremacist, colonial project of Israel. The solution is justice.
Never gonna get over that ppl hate black women and jews so much they voted for a fascist cheeto or abstained from voting so that the ppl voting for fascist cheeto had more power to elect fascist cheeto
racism implies a system that makes them hold power, which they don’t neither regionally nor globally
and in regards to antisemitism it’s more complex because even thought there have been situations when there were poc that made antisemitic statements overall antisemitism was created by europeans and it was the worst in europe(always) even when there was community in poc communities: accountability was a given and people called it out and no one was ever hurt and even in cases of antisemitism poc have always been in solidarity with the jewish community
Hi! Race historian here! You’re partially right about how racism works, but you’re a bit off. It is impossible for poc to be racist toward white people because racism is prejudice + power, or, perhaps more accurately, power justified by prejudice. BUT, like anything else, it gets more complicated from there. Both globally and regionally, there are specific racial hierarchies that order the flow of power. White people are at the top of the hierarchy and Black people, who are categorized as the exact opposite of white people—white people are beautiful, moral, rational, etc., while Black people are ugly, immoral, irrational, etc. etc.—are at the bottom. Then other racialized groups fall in between the two extremes. Racism cannot be exerted upward, which is why no one can be racist toward white people, who are at the top. Similarly, for example, Black people cannot be racist against indigenous or Asian people because those groups are also above them on the hierarchy.
Racism can, however, be exerted downward. So, most obviously, white people, who sit at the top of the hierarchy can be racist toward every other racialized group. Less obvious, but still entirely possible, is that poc groups can also be racist toward people positioned beneath them on the hierarchy. For example, East Asian people, who, in the United States context, anyway, have the most proximity to whiteness and are positioned beneath white people, but above everyone else, can be racist to darker skinned Asian people as well as indigenous people and Black people. And indeed, there are numerous historical examples of Asian people and other poc being racist toward Black people to horrible effect. Take, for example, the murder of Latasha Harlins (a 15 year old Black girl) by Soon Ja Du (a Korean American store owner) in 1991, or the fact that some indigenous people owned slaves and have denied afro-indigenous people (who are often the descendants of those slaves) tribal membership as a result of the anti-Black racism that many indigenous groups hold.
Now, OP’s point was that people didn’t vote for Kamala Harris because they were too racist to do so (or, more specifically, they were misogynoirist). You tried to correct the OP, saying that it was only white people whose racism was at play. But because Black people are at the bottom of the racial hierarchy, all non-Black poc can be racist toward us. And in fact, every poc group has an anti-Black racism problem, and often they use their greater proximity to whiteness (ie their higher position on the racial hierarchy) to inflict racist abuse upon Black people. So it is more accurate to say “people” rather than “white people” here because when we’re talking about anti-Black racism specifically, everyone, not just white people, has the ability to be racist and act accordingly, everyone but Black people. Black men, meanwhile, were guided by their misogyny and general futile attempts to distance themselves from their own blackness by mistreating Black women and attempting to align themselves with white women in a vain attempt to hijack some of that white supremacist power for themselves.
Thus ends my nerdy ramblings. Thank you for coming to my ted talk 😂
Like idk if I'm hoping for rage bait or not at this point. Because saying that shit while DOING THAT for views is like. You sold.your soul. It's gone. But it not being rage bait and she genuinely doesn't seen an issue with those remarks? I can't work out which is worse.
sometimes I think we as a species are losing our mind collectively because we can't deal with the rapidly expanding complexity of the world and our inability to actually control anything in our lives thanks to that complexity
and idk I just feel like this is a data point in favor of that hypothesis

My technology startup, which I built with dedication and hard work, was destroyed during this war, leading to the loss of our livelihood. My children, Layan, Sarah, and Adam, no longer have the opportunity for education due to the destruction of schools, posing a significant threat to their future.

My wife, Enas, lives in constant anxiety due to her advanced pregnancy and the destruction of hospitals in the area. After losing my job and source of income, I find myself in a severe financial crisis, unable to provide for the needs and safety of my family.

Our family home was destroyed due to the war, forcing us to flee and move multiple times, leaving us homeless. Everything has become difficult now; we cannot provide a safe place to live, nor can we afford clean clothes and food for our children. Additionally, our children have been afflicted with diseases such as measles, and our son Adam has been diagnosed with viral hepatitis.
-" layan & sara & adam in the war" -
Our only hope now is to escape from this ongoing hell and find a safe haven for our family. However, this requires exorbitant financial costs, with the coordination fee for crossing borders amounting to $5000 per adult and $2500 per child, a sum I cannot afford alone.
- "My home before the war "-
We urgently appeal for your moral and financial assistance to cover the necessary costs for escaping to a safe environment, where we can build a better future for our children and ensure the safety of our family
Thank you for your attention and support, and we hope you can help us in these difficult circumstances.

Anyone who says they’ve never held bigoted beliefs is 100% a liar. We get older and we learn better and we grow more understanding of the world around us. Social justice is not a contest of perfection. It’s a process of growth. That has been completely lost on this community in the past two years.
So, I recently learned about the “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media that has helped Iranians sentenced to die by the regime in the past.
I am now asking you guys for help with that again.
There is an Iranian Jew named Arvin Netanel ben Siona, whose execution date is set for this Saturday. The Iranian Jewish community have tried endlessly to pursue his release, but to no avail.
IRAN (VINnews) — A twenty year-old Jewish man is tragically scheduled to be executed by Iranian authorities on Shabbos, according to Iranian
Arvin Ghahremani, 20, was working out at the gym in the Iranian city of Kermanshah, about 500 miles outside of Tehran, in November 2022 when he was ambushed by seven men, one of whom was a 40-year-old man who owed him money, said Rabbi Danny Yiftach, who translated Iranian court documents for The Post.
Authorities plan to carry out the execution as soon as Monday, multiple sources tell The Post.
Unclear whether or not it was a hate crime. The attacker's family is refusing to pardon ben Siona.
