Reasons to watch The Last Man on Earth
a super intriguing premise without falling into your usual melodramatic post-apocalypse tropes
mega fun characters considering the end-of-the-world circumstances (consider adult mabel pines, extremely caring but constantly concerned boyfriend, and accordion-playing Wine Mom™, among others)
jerky protagonist that actually gets called out on his behavior, his actions have real consequences that promote personal growth (his change into season 2 and beyond is honestly really refreshing)
adding to that the character development is really organic, growth comes from trial and error and characters realistically struggle with old flaws from time to time
relationships that go beyond conventional romance!!! above all else most of these couples are friends
some super fun comedy, with Will Forte as the main character and showrunner and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, Clone High) as executive producers

gay and bi characters that aren’t solely defined by their sexuality (except by one character in a couple of episodes, who’s doing that really unproductive “im trying to be an ally” thing and gets shut down promptly)
this absolutely fantastic gag where they introduce a big guest star and then kill them after literally 5-10 seconds of screentime
genuinely emotional moments and sweet family dynamics (do not even get me started on The Open-Ended Nature of Unwitnessed Deaths)
”So there I am, standing between Denzel Washington’s legs, and I’m saying ‘Push, Denzel, push!’ And Denzel pops out the most beautiful little Siamese twins, they are perfect. And then he says, ‘Sally’ – because he’s calling me Sally for some reason – he says, ‘Sally, you keep my attached babies. I got my movie career.’ And I have had that dream fifty times, and I do not know what it means.”
