i hate when something is in 20 minutes
don't forget āøŗ
you have come far and are all the more incredible for it;
you made someone somewhere smile by simply being in their thoughts;
you are precious to the people in your life,
and you deserve to love yourself. šŖ¶
jack of no trades. master also of no trades. i'm just a little bit bad at everything i do
i love how Indeed is like
tailored for you! hereās your shortlist of job opportunities that perfectly match your preferences and abilities as an artist with clerical career skills:
-booger farmer (45 miles away)
-astronaut (5 minutes away)
Being told what to do is great because then you know what to do
who up wasting their only shot at life through complete and utter inaction
god i love my friends. shout out to people who love their friends. this is a post for friend lovers
These policies can help to improve the mental health of students
If the point is for the children to learn, then why wouldnāt you give them as many chances as it takes? What is the benefit of telling a childĀ āyou failed and thatās the end of itā?
Iām 25, and in my trade school, our tests arenāt judgement, theyāre testing to see what weāve retained, and identify what weāre missing.
If I weld a joint, and the CWI comes up behind me with a radiographic test for it and finds that I just laid hot metal on cold metal or it looks like a sponge inside, you know whatās gonna happen? You think theyāre gonna give me a low score and tell me to move on? Fuck no. Theyāre gonna hand me a grinder and tell me to take it out and put it in right.
When thereās actual work to be done, we donāt leave it at the first attempt if that attempt was shit. We donāt leave a trail of āwhatās done is done.ā If it takes you four attempts, thatās what it takes, and next time itāll take fewer because you learned how to do it right after the third time.
School, as itās set up, with unforgiving deadlines and single attempt high stakes tests are building a shitty work ethic. It says āI tried once, and thatās all youāre getting.ā It sets you up to leave a trail of cut losses and barely or unfinished projects as you scramble to get something, anything, turned in before the deadline.
And we wonder now why nothing works at launch.
big fan of telling people "have fun" when they say theyre going to the restroom
great
this looks helpful at least
nah i agree (source: sergle)
every so often i remember how awesome the modern interconnected multicultural world is. i grew up getting to hear fairy tales from all over the world. africa, asia, europe, america. everywhere in between. i can have bagels for breakfast, curry for lunch, and ramen for dinner without even leaving the city limits. music and art and philosophy and technology that originated thousands of miles and years apart from eachother have come together and interwoven into something greater than the sum of its parts. its hard not fall into despair when thinking about the horrors but god. god the wonders.
you can have friends on the other side of the planet! neither of you even has to travel!!!!! you can just talk to them whenever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You actually cannot skip to being good at a creative endeavour that you haven't put much practice into. You cannot trick your way out of the 'knows that your work is not what you want it to be but don't know how to improve it' stage by planning or reading or talking about it really really hard. At some point you just have to craft through it until your brain finds it's own unique way back to the 'everything I make slaps' stage and be prepared to start the cycle all over again. You just have to make that project you're excited about slightly less good than you want it to be. (Says this standing in a pool of blood and covered in blood and also coughing up a little blood)
everyone stop reblogging this I hate to be reminded of my own good advice
i wish my brain were not full of gludge. i would like to be using it & because of the gludge i cannot do that.
