joy is a habit. just so u know.
Someone said, “What we give won’t always be returned, but what we give will always be what we are.” And I think that is even more beautiful than if it was returned. Because I think it does return to you anyway, in the sense that it’s rewiring your nervous system every time you give out kindness, whether that is directed at someone else, or yourself. I think it returns to you in the sense that, inwardly, after performing an act of kindness, it does something to your soul; it leaves you with this quiet feeling that you have just added something good to the world, and you, my love, were that something good.
Someone once said to me, “I hope the pain eases soon.” It struck me as the purest blessing that had ever been offered over my head - I hope the pain eases soon. It’s so gentle, so kind, so hopeful. So to everyone who’s hurting: I see how hard you’re trying, and I hope your pain will ease soon.
You will heal. You will create again. You will wake up genuinely excited about your life. You will laugh again. You will get out of survival mode. You will trust yourself again. You will get your spark back. You will find your way back to yourself. You will. You will. You will.
Until death, all defeat is psychological.
I don’t want to rush through my life, I want to meander through it, like it’s a long sprawling garden with endless trees and beds of flowers and hidden paths leading to enclosed little meadows to escape into and doze in the sun
Healing happens in circles, not lines. You will return to old places with new eyes.
Forever traumatized by realizing that no amount of love can change someone who finds losing you easier than facing their own behavior.
