Guys, Lenore Dove is new for you, not for us. She’d been included in our universe since the beginning. All this “widowed vibe” and emotional constipation on Haymitch has been part of our lore since ever!!!!!!!!!

Now she has a name and more depth (though still very shallow) as a individual than before, but the Hayffie fandom has embraced the closed heart situation for twenty years now. We had seen this problem coming from miles away and solved it for longer than Suzanne has decided on her name; stop expecting us to drop the ship now because the books concluded something we have always known before.

“Oh but he doesn’t need love to heal” yes, but as a healed man, he can have love if the opportunity is there, and getting upset because we decided he doesn’t have to end up alone and drunk with only Katniss, Peeta and his hallucinations filling his days until he drops dead is absurdly off-putting. We have been doing this for years, you’re the newcomers here

Here's the thing about Ted Lasso.

There would have been absolutely nothing wrong with the decision to have Ted and Rebecca remain friends had the writers shifted/changed how they approached Ted and Rebecca's relationship.

But they didn't.

Even while insisting that Ted and Rebecca were "friends" they continued to write Ted and Rebecca as two individuals who are very much not just friends, but instead, are two individuals who are connected to such a degree (I mean c'mon, the worst days of both their lived being September 13?) that they literally cannot be anything but soulmates.

Even during the TedBecca droughts, they writing still very much took a path that made it more than clear that they were not the best versions of themselves when they were apart, that left a palpable tension as everyone wondered "when will Ted and Rebecca find their way back to each other"?

I mean, come on... some of the final moments between Ted and Rebecca involved a scene that was very much written with the intention of wanting the audience to believe they slept together, a scene where Rebecca literally asks Ted to stay and then when he says no, decides to leave as well, and the quintessential RomCom scene of a meet-cute in the airport with Rebecca sobbing in Ted's arms...

If the writer's wanted us to believe that Ted and Rebecca shouldn't be together, then they shouldn't have written them as two individuals that should definitely be together.

(This same argument also goes for J/C from ST:V because the writers wrote them a love story from the beginning and then gaslit the audience and put him with someone else last minute.....B.S.)
