Based on a fic I read, but I love the concept of Simon having that internal thought of "Grace is smaller than me and if we were on Eden, I'd steal rations to keep him safe and healthy," while at the same time knowing that Grace is perfectly healthy and fine (if not a little damaged from the starvation)

I need Simon making sure that Grace eats when he forgets. As someone with ADHD and ARFID, I know Grace would have eating problems as his brain wouldn't register hunger signals properly. So Simon drags him away from his work to eat and makes sure that he eats everything on his plate.

I also need Simon needing to have reminders to eat. He only eats because Grace eats. Because he's also dealt with starvation and its effects. So they have a symbiotic relationship where they make each other eat

I want BloodyMary to be just a little bit toxic, I got this idea from a winteriron fic I read once and loved and it’s the idea that Simon knows that Grace is giving him all this because Grace is kind, Simon is undeserving of this help but Grace has given it to him anyways— so instead of the healthy response of “ah yes, right, I am also a person who can change and be forgiven” he instead goes into “I now need to devote my life to this man and never ever deny him anything because this is the only way I can be forgiven”

It doesn’t even need to be explicitly religious I just think that Simon would feel as if he’s indebted to Grace because of yk food, water, housing, safety, love, care etc. like Simon isn’t stupid, he knows that Grace is a damn good person and he probably wouldn’t even do anything to Simon if Simon acted up— but it doesn’t matter because he NEEDS to deserve this. somehow. If Grace asks he’ll do it. (With some exceptions but nothing Grace would actually ask of him is something Simon wouldn’t do)

Also Grace should be aware of this but be out of his depth. Like okay yeah this guy is definitely in a situation where the power dynamics are completely messed up sooo can his consent really count?? But how tf is Grace supposed to make him act independently— ASKING HIM TO DO THAT IS JUST ABUSING HIS POWER OVER THE MAN AGAIN

And they go in a loop of “I want to do whatever you ask of me because you saved me and I don’t deserve this. Also do you know how many people I’ve killed, I’m a horrible monster who will do anything to live.”

“Okay yeah that was messed up BUT I believe that despite it you’re a redeemable person and I want to help you live a life where you get to choose what to do because I’m like so sure it isn’t murder.”

“…okay whatever you say.”

Thinking about modern bloodymary in the scenario > really scary looking Simon and really soft and squishy Grace BUT Simon is really soft and shy in personality and Grace will call anyone who looks his lover weird "a staggering waste of carbon"

I didn't understand why people disliked the 'Simon sees Grace as an angel' trope and think it is close to being like a 'white savior' thing. Then I realised all fics I've red were Simon thinks Grace is an angel are of the type of 'he's an angel and he will judge me and throw me into hell if I'm deemed unworthy' which is probably a completely different side of this trope.

a bloodymary fanfiction prolog pt.(0/?)

TW: body horror, body dysmorphia

Simon is still alive. He was so sure he was dead but he isn’t… at least anymore.

Simon woke up in the submarine, his whole body hurt. His head felt as if it was being used like a drum, his ribs flared as if it was being ripped open and his guts were being torn out, his arm. Wait wasn’t his left arm gone? He pried his eyes open seeing his arm still there but it was wrong, the skin looked like tree bark. He tied to scream but then he realized he was still in the blood, he started to cough the blood trying to get it out of his lungs, his throat burned from the blood it felt like he was swallowing acid. He felt some thing on his ribs open up giving him some air, he looked down seeing gills, then he noticed the tail it looked like that of an eel, the scales were of a deep dark red, he started to look around his own body to see what else was changed. His hands were webbed, his ears turned into fins, he had a second set of arms identical to the first set, he had a second mouth on the left side of his face, he had gills on his neck, his right for arm is covered in red scales. He cried at the sight of his new body, he felt as if he was damned to become another monster, to forever be the butcher. All he hopes that his prayers to his mother was answered and they now have the black box.

Simon noticed that there was a hole in the front of the submarine. There was a giant root of a tree sticking out of the hole the root was glowing with white light. The hole was still big enough for him to swim out of even with his increased size. When he got out, he looked up at the roots of the tree. Simon saw that, it was the tree of Eden reborn bigger than ever. “Huh, its back now.” Simon felt a small sense of completion. Even though he knew it didn’t matter anymore with him becoming a monster he still feels accomplished for the tree becoming a new.

He looked at the roots seeing that there were some gaps between the roots. Simon decided to explore it to see how big the tree truly was. The gaps between the roots were big enough for Simon to comfortably swim between.  While exploring between the roots he noticed a spot at were the center of the roots should be. There was spot in the middle of the tree that had a smooth crater. Simon laid in the crater feeling it was comfortable for him to rest in. well if I’m going to be a monster might as well get comfortable.
