Some of the best Jiang Cheng ship dynamics in my opinion are ones where the other person is mirror of him, but specifically in a way that drives both of them apart. Chengqing? Their equal loyalty to their families and responsibilities is what they admire in each other, though it means neither of them will let go of those things enough to be together. Zhancheng? They're the only two people left in the world who loved Wei Wuxian and understand what it's like to mourn him, except one was in love with the man and the other let him die. Chengning? A lifetime each at Wei Wuxian's side, but they were on opposite ones and every action paralleled brought him into conflict with the other. Much to think about
