not sure if this counts as a straight answer but imagine a local band asks you last-minute to join as their bassist. they’re all kinda fucked up emotionally, because their former bassist suddenly left to become a pop star. but especially the vocalist. You get to know them all, especially the vocalist, who has pretty severe abandonment issues, only exacerbated by this event. vocalist clearly had complex feelings for former bassist, and seems resigned to hate her but can’t actually manage to do it. She never fully gets over it. 6 years later, vocalist reveals she has reconnected with former bassist and is having some sort of bizarre affair with her. Because of former bassist’s former betrayal and how much shit vocalist has talked about her, you’re predisposed to not trust her, and to be scared that this is going to turn sour. your suspicions are confirmed when former bassist hurts vocalist’s feelings and she relapses on coke. A few days later they are dating and your friend, prone to mood swings, is elated. A few weeks after that she wants former bassist to rejoin the band as a guitarist

I'm so tired of all the casual porn. Get on any social media and there will either be softporn or just porn. Wanna watch a movie? Most of them either contain a completely unnecessary sex scene or female nudity. Wanna play a videogame? Same thing. Walk through your city? Ad for lingerie, ad for lingerie, ad for lingerie. Going grocery shopping? Well here you go, a whole shelf of magazines with naked women on the cover page. Wanna watch the news? Why is the female reporter always wearing a tight dress and a push up bra, while the male is in a suit? I'm just so tired of the constant objectification of women's bodies. Once you realize this there is no going back. I can't escape it even if I want to. It's thrown in my face every day, all the time.

“never comment on others’ bodies!” <- falls apart when you’re talking about influential figures, especially to children

“omg look at these before and after pictures! this is so scary!” <- basically a thinspo slide show

“Omg just let women post pictures!” <- can’t recognize obvious body-checking

“Some people are just naturally that weight!” <- very naive but an especially absurd thing to say about public figures who have lost obvious weight
