Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003)
dawn summers is also a contender for character of all time. she's an eldritch horror stuffed into the body of a teenage girl. she's six months old. she's older than time. she's fourteen. she talks shit to the faces of the forces of darkness. she speaks sumerian. she killed her first kiss with a pencil. her best friend is a punk vampire that simps over her big sister. she writes about the horrors in her diary. she has done necromancy. she's a kleptomaniac. her favorite sandwich is salami with peanut butter. she was willing to sacrifice her life to save the world at fourteen years old. she became her sister's watcher when the original watcher abandoned them. she's extraordinary.
come to think of it… have any of you guys seen ben and glory in the same room?
every episode of buffy the vampire slayer ⇾ 1.06 The Pack
It’s bad, isn’t it? It’s devastating. He’s turned into a sixteen-year-old boy. Of course, you’ll have to kill him.
wait. willow’s mom is neglectful to the point that she doesn’t notice willow cut her hair for weeks/months yet when we’re first introduced to willow she’s wearing something her mother picked out. do you think part of the reason she wears clothes her mom picks out despite them being somewhat juvenile is because it’s one of the very few ways she feels like her mom is paying attention and cares
Sarah Michelle Gellar should’ve won every award possible for the S2 finale she carried the emotion of the climax SO HARDDD. By god am i crying over a relationship i don’t have any strong feelings towards simply because she portrayed the anguish of it SO WELL. Utterly insane Buffy is the character ever
So out of mind out of sight in Buffy has the invisible girl join like some secret government assassins team which was awesome. Then we never hear about it again unless it's in the comics (which I've stopped reading coz I heard they made Buffy a cop?) once again opportunity lost to have invisible soldiers working for the initiative and it wouldn't even need them to dip into their bad cgi budget lol. Also I know Marcy is supposed to be sort of sympathetic seeing as we get a bunch of flashbacks about her being ignored but I'm like...why did she exclusively choose to try and hang out with the school mean girls? Like we don't see her try to talk to anyone else and it seems like she wants the prestige or popularity that comes from hanging around them rather than actual friends. If she wanted actual friends she could have tried talking to literally anyone else. It gave me vibes of always going after the people who are most likely to be mean to you and it annoyed me. Though it's hinted that she did try talking to other people as Xander and willow both signed her yearbook. I think her and Buffy should have interacted more, maybe even bonded through both being kind of outsiders as we see buffy in this episode being left out of inside jokes. Instead the two don't talk to each other at all unless it's to be threatening. Lost opportunity. Giles and angel chat in this episode and I wish they did more often because I kind of like their little nerd out sessions only problem is it accentuates how old angel is that he's only able to talk normally to his peer lol. Maybe that's why they don't hang out much. Cordelia is all into school work to the point of meeting her teacher after class but we know that future episodes will go back and forth making her secretly smart and then actively dumb because they don't know what to do with her character (something that improves up to a point in angel the series) I wish someone could isolate the audio of Cordelia's acceptance speech in this episode I'm so curious what she says. ALSO the ridiculousness of talking about defeating and invisible bad guy IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU KNOW SHE HANGS OUT AND COULD POTENTIALLY BE STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO YOU LISTENING TO YOUR PLANS?? plus in the seventh season a girl is about to go invisible and Buffy talks to her and she stops, so shouldn't them acknowledging Marcy make her visible again? And what about her parents? They must have cared at least a little to put her up as a missing person. But Buffy is full of retcons and plotholes at this point it's part of its charm. Still infuriating that marcy sees the worst people in the school and is like yes I will make them my friends😌 we can be mean to people together. I guess it's an example of people who are having a rough time or being bullied aren't always nice people just because they're suffering (I should know, I was bullied and I'm the worst lol)
from s3e6 - band candy. but drew them a little younger.
Giles was so real for taking his glasses off when he didn't want to see what the scoobies were up to cause I, too, leave my glasses off when I don't want to see people.

I couldn't stop drawing a certain somebody after finishing Buffy
Part of the reason Slayers have to work in secret and aren't supposed to have friends or family is so that the Watchers can abuse them in secret.
