You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).
Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

that is fucking hilarious, the first time someone asks "is it okay if I inherited land as a child and now I want to charge the previous occupants rent?" and you actually think you know what, sure.

"I asked chatgpt-"
Well I asked the host of the community radio station of a small desert town and he said "Don't let numbers tell you what to do. You are blood and earth, not theory and chalk", so maybe think about that.
im not saying we shouldn't be calling out hypocrisy but i do think it's important to be aware of what i call the Two Different Guys Fallacy. and that's that whenever you're thinking to yourself, oh how come X group claim they want this thing but also support that other incompatible thing. take a moment to stop and consider whether it could just be Two Different Guys that think each thing
Imagine if you were floating alone in space for nearly 50 years after all your friends went to sleep and never woke up, and just when all hope seems to be lost another ship appears this weird-ass alien pops out with all this tech, somehow starts TALKING to you with said tech, and promises to help you - DOES help you, and even sacrifices his chance to go home to save you and your people - and then you find out that his name means “mercy” in his home language ???
Shit, dude, I’d have assumed God himself was sending me a message.
We're gonna have a hard time convincing future generations the phrase "Trumped-up charges" is etymologically unrelated.
May We Peel A Twenty Oner?
“Now suppose that a particular Twenty-Oner develops an unexcisable and deadly tumor growing from the outside layer into the eighteenth layer below. The tumor will not go any deeper into the Twenty-Oner’s body, but if left untreated it will eventually fatally disrupt the functions of the whole humanoid body. So the doctors suggest peeling off eighteen layers. This has been done before and is invariably successful. Indeed, peeling off layers is a cosmetic technique widely used among the Twenty-Oners.”
