When we lived in German we used to go to Rothenburg Germany, it as a walled city...They have some of the best goodies I found....I got my mom and sister hooked on these too besides me being hooked on them...Each area has their own little special pastry and this is one of Rothenburgs to die for pastry...I put in a free picture from on line till I have my own to put in here...There is also a video that shows how they make they in Rothenburg.

The Shrimp Saga. Part II. A Shrimp in the Fridge

I had picked up some living watercress (it comes with roots in water in a clear cellophane cone), an beautiful avocado, green onions and other yummy salad veggies from the local health food grocer. Took them home, put them in the fridge. Hungry for a great salad, I opened the refrigerator door and freaked. There was a little creature inching it's way around in there. That I slammed the door shut out of surprise was not so unusual. I stood for a moment in front of the refrigerator and thought "ok, now what to do?" There is something in there and he's not going to leave by himself. Stoically, I again opened the refrigerator. He was in there, inching his way across a glass shelf. He was tiny, definitely moving, and looked like a shrimp. A shrimp had a baby in my fridge? Do shrimp babies walk immediately after they are born? Had I purchased any really fresh shrimp? Had I purchased a pregnant shrimp? How unusual! I live in Indiana. For the record, shrimp is my favorite food. I watched the little guy traversing the glass shelf. Fear and surprise now gone, I scooped him up, held him in my hand, and he was most definitely a miniature shrimp. He was definitely a shrimp. He was so tiny and delicate. I jumped on the internet, found his photo under the caption "grass shrimp." Yay! There are shrimp in Indiana! He must have hitched a ride in on the watercress and then went for a walk.
