Project Detentionaire: Let’s do this! Let’s get Detentionaire back for a fifth season
Hello everyone! I thought I'd let you guys know that earlier this year in January, I started a fanmade organization with the sole purpose of getting Detentionaire back on the air. This project started out on Reddit, but we have expanded to Twitter, Discord and the wiki, and I think it’s about time we expand onto Tumblr too.
I think that we as a fandom have waited long enough for a new season, and while our fandom may be small, we definitely have the power to get the series back if we all band together. Now, you may be wondering why this will succeed as fans have pushed for a revival before, and have failed. Well, with this fanmade project I have started, we have already taken an almost dead subreddit, and in three months got over a hundred new people in, we have more than doubled the amount of signatures on the petition to get Detentionaire back (was at 300, but now at 750), and we have even been able to get confirmation that the series will be coming to Netflix later this year thanks to a distribution company known as FilmRise TV, which I am sure that most of you have heard about. I have also started a Detentionaire TIktok page that has gained 3000 followers over these past few months, and has been able to get a Tiktok with over 100,000 views. Accomplishing all of this within three months really shows that the plan does have potential.
Secondly, there’s a petition to get the series back, and the amount of signatures has been going up tremendously lately. While there was another petition that was unfortunately shut down, that one only did not work because there were not enough signatures for it to be taken into consideration by Nelvana. Now, in order for this one to work, we will need as many signatures as we can get before submission, which is why we need as many fans as we can find to sign it. The good news is that as petitions get more signatures, they get sent out to more people due to Change.org’s algorithm. Therefore, after our initial push, the algorithms will do most of the work for us.
There is also a form on Netflix’s website to request TV shows, and myself and the rest of the revival team have gotten over 130 requests sent to Netflix, which is likely why they decided to air the series on Netflix. This feature is underutilized, so even with a few requests, Netflix does notice which TV shows are in demand. Now, even though Detentionaire is already coming to Netflix, it is likely that Netflix will invest in promoting the series through their social media page and even put it on the featured section if enough people demand it. Therefore, if we could keep on pushing in requests, Netflix may promote the series for us, ensuring it succeeds. I will link the form underneath. Make sure you are logged into your Netflix account when you do fill it out, otherwise Netflix will ignore the request.
