you're walking alone in the middle of a forest and suddenly a faint melody makes its way between rustling leaves. as you get closer to it, it begins to feel more and more familiar until you finally recognize its unmistakable sound. without a doubt, it's none other than "oli and jim (they're just two guys)"

Panic's icy hands seize his insides when he realizes his mistake.

Lodged in the ruins surrounding the tower are several Guardians, cutting dark, hulking silhouettes against the sky.  Scar feels a glimmer of tentative relief at the fact that they look broken down—

But, no. It seems Scar's reserves of luck run very, very shallow.

Scar hesitates for half a second too long, long enough to watch twin laser sights affix themselves to his chest. He's running before his mind can catch up to his feet in a mad dash for the tower.

It's not enough, it's not enough, it's not enough, he thinks.

He wishes he was wrong.

Scar leaves the Great Plateau and heads straight for Hyrule Castle. It goes about as well as anyone could expect.

I’d like to personally thank Cub Fan One Three Five, Mumbo Killsalot Jumbo, and Etho Slab for all being, or having been, old man coded at some point. It’s very convenient retroactive justification for having them all play the role of Purah in this AU and undergo an experimental de-aging process for the sake of Science and also a general disregard for the natural order after having already lived over a century. Very considerate of them to cater specifically to me and my crossover AU needs. I cannot stop winning <3

Mask of the Goodtimes: None are immune! Legend says this mask resembles a skilled builder who traveled many realms. Wearing it fills you with the boundless urge to create. The item makes one want to wear it but also not wear it.

Created for @definitelynotshouting's definitelynottober challenge, Day 15: Wearing Familiar Masks! This was gonna be a simpler comic but uuuuhhhh I got carried away :3 Thank you for the wonderful prompt list! I had actually wanted to make this comic for a while, and your challenge gave me the literal perfect excuse to finally do it. I can't tell you how excited I got when I saw the prompt name kdjfklsdjfsldjf

This takes place in my BotW/TotK AU where Scar is Link in case it wasn't obvious! Specifically, it's a reference to the Mask of Awakening, which is part of the armor set referencing Link's cartoony bobblehead appearance in Link's Awakening (screenshot under the cut). In my mind, all the "nostalgic" armor sets you can get in TotK would be references to Scar's various skins, especially his Life Series ones :]
