As much as I enjoy the anime, it really fucked up with Yugi's development as a character; that entire duel with him and Otogi was just removed and replaced and it still irks me...one of the reasons I'll love the manga till death.

For context:

English Translation: "I love you."

Original Japanese text: (i'm not a japanese expert but google says: Daisu i love it.)

German Translation: ,,Ich mag dich echt." | (rough english translation) "I really like you."

In my opinion it doesn't convey what the original wanted to say, the german translators could've easily went with ,,Ich liebe dich.'' = ''I love you.'' like english translation did but they had to be cowards.

so i was thinking about atem and having a wonder

we know he resembles yugi, right, so rather short. canonically around 5ft at age 15-16. but we also meet his father, uncle and cousin in memory world and they are all tall, like cresting 6ft tall. which begs the question of how we explain atem and i have come up with two plausible answers

1. he looks like yugi, is short and will always be short because siamun is his grandfather on his mother’s side. granted the one panel we have of his mother she doesn’t appear particularly short but hand wave, or

2. he got puzzled at 15 just before the maddest growth spurt in history and would have eventually come nose to nose with seth

how tall would atem be had he lived

short king (5ft and change if lucky)

tall like his relatives (6ft)

mix ??? (like between 5ft 6 and 5ft 9)
