i think when people talk about koivu they always mention his loyalty. how he was loyal to the team for 14 years. and i always feel like that’s not enough to say.

yes koivu was loyal for 14 years. but it’s beyond that. he’s the only person to play 1000+ games with one club and to never make the conference finals. he’s the one of four to never play in the finals. koivu was loyal to his own fault. when given the chose of being a wild forever, and chasing the cup, he chose to stay with the wild.

koivus loyalty wasn’t bought. nor was it earned. (really don’t think i have to explain that.) koivu just chose to stay here because. well. that’s what he does i guess. there will be no player like him in that regard.

you’re never gonna find another player like koivu. and i mean it. to see him go out this way. is. kinda sad.
