Welcome back Max I-don't-rate-any-of-y'all-except-for-Charles Verstappen
After days of everyone questioning Charles' talent and why his stats "look like that", I don't think there could have been a better race to explain exactly why.
Charles pulls off an absolute miracle with that pole, keeps pulling off miracles in the race by staying ahead of the Mclarens for as long as he did, does everything right (I'm not counting the penalty, at that point it was a different race) and it's not enough. And it feels like nothing would have been enough, no only one pitstop, no other strategy. Maybe not even addressing the issues with the car differently or having a car without whatever issue it is they're dealing with would have been enough. Because at the end of the day there's a practically inexplicably faster car.
Charles will continue to pull off Monza 24s and Austin 24s, he will continue to get poles like Mexico 23 and Hungary 25. He has the talent to dominate this sport, it's moments like these that prove it, but he won't until he has a car that can at least minimally match that dominance. And we've seen the start of the 22 season and what he can do when he has one of those on his hands.
"Why doesn't Charles have more wins?" "Why does his pole to win ratio look like that?" Because Charles has never had the privilege of being a mediocre driver carried by the best car on the grid. He's never had the privilege of having the best car on the grid for more than a few races, much less a whole season. The only privilege here is the privilege to watch the seemingly impossible ability Charles Leclerc has to outperform his cars, but on days like today it hardly feels like a privilege.
Maya Weug is being Cut Out by Motorsport and Scuderia Ferrari
Maya Weug will no longer race in 2026, and has opened up about failed plans after her 2025 vice championship season in F1 Academy. She was left on her own; with no support. Weug has publicly requested for teams and sponsors to reach out to her. The plans that were originally in place were pulled out from under her and she scrambled for a seat. Now even that has gone away.
Maya Weug is one of the greatest talents of her generation. She was abandoned by Scuderia Ferrari. They dropped her unceremoniously with not a single explanation.
Maya doesn’t deserve this, she has more talent in her pinky finger than most other drivers have in their whole body. The fact that she has had resorted to public pleading to save her career is disappointing and at the same time, an all too familiar occurrence for female drivers.
i feel so fucking powerless looking at maya weug like she is so fucking brilliant she is SO talented. she is my favorite racer to watch by a mile charles can take a fucking seat. and she is stuck without the opportunities to showcase her IMMENSE talent. sometimes i’m so sickened by motorsport i can’t do this

hi i want to talk about the blatant inequality that the new gender rules of hockey USA may cause. and how this may affect the future of womens hockey.
released on april 1st of this year, usa hockey has released a policy stating that all leagues and teams under it's governance must restrict players to their assigned sex based team (excluding coed leagues and teams). this is not only incredibly disruptive to just trans athletes, but moreso female athletes
as you probably know, hockey is a predominantly male sport, so most local and smaller teams are more likely to be all-male teams. in the past, girls have been able to get around this by joining male teams as a female, playing the same game.
this is no longer possible, and female athletes, even beer league or low level leagues, are restricted to teams, leagues and games that are either female only, or coed. both of which are hard to find and usually are only low level--meaning it restricts a lot of girls and women from playing at a higher level.
most olympic level or professional hockey players in the PWHL were able to reach their level via playing in boys leagues and teams, because girls teams weren't available. with this new policy, it could be harder than ever before for girls to play and access hockey.
despite girls hockey growing exponentially in the past couple of years, this may prove to be a bigger challenge for girls than any actual trans athletes. this ban not arguably harms more athletes
the policy's an act of hostility towards women's sports and gender equality in sports. it may not explicitly state that it will put such barring limitations on women, but it does and will.
the reason these regs went largely unchallenged by f1 media until now is because they went largely unchallenged by f1 fans and i genuinely have to look no further than the charles and oscar spa situation to point out that it’s because a lot of you are embarrassingly allergic to hard racing that f1 thought they could sell this artificial bullshit as entertaining in the first place. remember how at the beginning of the season a lot of people swore up and down that watching the ferraris whack each other for the epic highs and lows of p3 was the best racing they’ve EVER seen in formula 1 and they called it ethical wheel instead of stupid fucking battery powered back and forth oh and then people who never watched a singular lap of a 90s f1 race started coming out saying the sport's been boring for 40 years now actually and it's not until 2026 that overtaking was made possible and kimi antonelli who gets noted for track limits 7 minutes into an fp2 session and who had you clutching a rosary last year whenever he got near your driver because as my best friend charles leclerc pointed out so astutely he is BAD at wheel to wheel no he's actually the best qualifier and driver on the grid and max verstappen with his clearly superior red bull engine he's just washed i fear don't worry about it
It’s always better 💅🏼
So many comments like this in the Ferrari IG. Crazy behaviour
pictured above: liam lawson and arvid lindblad when they get within a second of each other on track
It’s been a while since we’ve had a carcar incident
other drivers: it was unfortunate but these things happen on track, just a racing incident.
oscar piastri: when stupidity is great enough it becomes malice. not only is carlos an idiot and a criminal and a life ruiner but he's annoying. everyone thinks so. we've talked about it.
wishing every lh fan that called for charles being thrown to the dogs in the name of lewis fighting for the championship a very this is scuderia ferrari there is no fucking championship
charles only being 29 points behind lewis with two dnfs but i’m supposed to believe he’s SOOO much worse than lewis. ok sure.
the hungarian gp was a social experiment in ‘how much ragebait can a sports fanbase take?’ we have now concluded. thank you for your time.
F1 can’t hurt me for the next four weeks!!
