Rin of the Heavenly Wind Star (天風星・リン) was the Houhou Ranger and the only female member of Gosei Sentai DaiRanger*. The niece of the DaiRanger’s mentor, Master Kaku, Rin came from China to join the team at his urging. Unlike the others, Rin was already adept at Qi control before joining the team and can use it outside of her Houhou Ranger uniform. Her fighting style was the Eagle’s Claw and she could control wind.
Rin was the one to have visions that lead her to discover the Heavenly Treasure Lai Lai Balls that allowed control of the Mythical Chi Beasts. Before that, it took all of the DaiRangers focusing their chi to control one of them, Ryuseioh (the Dragon). Once they had the Lai Lai Balls, the other Beasts were awakened and the Rangers were able to combine them into Dairen’oh.
Rin was played by Natsuki Takahashi (高橋 夏樹).
*Please go buy the DaiRanger box set from Shout! Factory! We need to support these official releases so we can get more of them in the future!
I second this notion. I own both of them so far and hope that enough people will support them so they release all of Sentai on DVD. Also Dairanger is an amazing series, please support the releases and don’t illegally view these two series and just buy the product :)
