The thing that I really really loved about the season finale of The Vampire Lestat is that it reiterates how much life is about living and about art and about music and about LOVE!!! To explore to examine to extrapolate your emotions your lived experiences your obsessions your sadness your mistakes your successes your FAILURES none of it can be defined in any meaningful way as decided by others because others cannot and will not ever live in your body with your memories and your experiences and therefore you're allowed to say fuck the noise I don't need y'all's bitch ass opinions on how I should be living or how "effectively" I've used this gift of life in the time I've had it. You're allowed to put down the expectations of how others want you to live your life you're encouraged to laugh in the face of the people who box you in and refuse to let you be the person you want to be because YOU! ARE! THE! STAR!!! OF!! YOUR! OWN! LIFE!

At a time when Netflix is getting roundly criticized for forcing its shows to treat the audience like we have all of two brain cells to rub together, The Vampire Lestat is out here volleying everything from 70s gay references to 1700s Dutch Republic references at the speed of light while saying, "You don't get it?
