i hate the "we should only have queer actors playing queer characters" argument for several reasons. but what annoys me the most is that people who argue this straight up don't realize that it's illegal to ask someone about their sexuality in relation to a job interview. like an audition. i don't think breaking anti-discrimination laws to screen people's sexualities to determine their employment is the woke take you think it is.

I love that Elizabeth Swann is such a teen girl fantasy like she’s beautiful and rich but sheltered and she’s in love with this nice, good-looking blacksmith that she helped rescue as a child and she almost drowns while she’s being proposed to by a young, handsome but proper and boring royal navy commander but then is RESCUED by a swaggering pirate captain and then gets kidnapped by pirates and the nice good-looking blacksmith comes after her and she has this weird tension with the swaggering pirate captain but she’s also deeply in love with the nice good-looking blacksmith and then there’s the complicated royal navy commander who’s willing to die for her and then she becomes the pirate king at the end of it all like????

i know anakin and padme both having curly hair while luke & leia's is straight is more of an era/actors thing, but it's also really funny to imagine the twins having naturally curly hair and just doing this before every scene:

what you have to understand is that tattoos and piercings are both body modification but serve completely different purposes. piercings are for ridding the body of bad vibes (creating a hole lets them out). tattoos are for when you are having difficulty keeping your soul attached to your body, because the tattooing process stitches it back in place

I find it so deeply fascinating that there are medieval and possibly even ancient texts (I can't remember specifics rn but I definitely saw one from early medieval Europe recently) that are like "oh if only I lived in an earlier age when there was literal magic in the world"

I feel like nowadays people project that back ONTO the middle ages, but even back then they were like "there used to be magic and now it's gone"
