Season 2 sneak peak! Let's go!
I genuinely appreciate how obsession doesn't try to frame bear as morally grey but just fully leans into how deplorable he is. a lesser movie would have tried to give him redeeming moments along the way but no, at every single crossroads bear makes the wrong choice. when the customer service rep asks him if he wants to cancel his wish, he says no, and asks to alter it. when nikki, the real one, begs him to kill her, he asks her "if it would be so bad to love him", and right at the end, backs out of killing himself and tries to throw the pills up. he is the villain, not another victim, not a confused, cowardly boy, the villain.
One thing about Obsession (2026) that I enjoyed was that it almost asks you to feel empathy for the entity possessing Nikki as well as the real one. Like, obviously the things she's doing are horrific and fucked up, but I think the scene where Bear is asking her to "just be Nikki!" and she eventually just desperatly screams "I can't be Nikki!" does a really good job of showcasing the entity's inner feelings. She's been created with the sole purpose of loving this guy more than anyone else but no matter how perfect it is or how much he claims to love her, its not her that he loves, its Nikki. And any time she stops pretending to be Nikki, he reacts (albeit rightfully) with disgust and horror. She can't be Nikki because Nikki would never love Bear, and so Bear will never love her.
Just saw the interview where Curry Barker explained that it's totally possible to get a normal wish from the One Wish Willow, and I love the way they did that so much. The reason Obsession happened isn't because it's trying to twist Bear's desires into something evil. It's not even because he phrased his want wrong. Obsession happened because Bear got his hands on a magic item that could do anything in existence, and chose to force someone to fall in love with him, which is an inherently evil thing to do.
nikki begging bear to kill her and all he does is ask whats so bad about being with him. one of the most nauseating scenes ive ever witnessed
The new Sup with The Batman :D
Ain't making out, but they went for a coffee :>
Twilight but it’s written from Charlie’s point of view so it’s a horror series as he watches as he’s unable to save his daughter from the Cullens and there’s also flashback scenes to him as a teenager showing his complex and slightly toxic age-gap relationship with a certain vampire *cough* Carlisle *cough* but in the end Charlie choosing LIFE but then growing old and watching his daughter choose DEATH and there’s also old man gay yearning
Keep Him Here
[CW: Blood]
Carlisle was on the scene the moment he heard Chief Swan had been shot. Charlie was stretched out on the pavement, lips parted as he labored for each breath. Carlisle collapsed beside him, the anguish at seeing the man like this tearing at his heart. Charlie's gaze flickered up to his face. His mouth moved, but all that came up was a cough of blood.
“Charlie.” Carlisle reached for his hand and squeezed.
“Doc,” Charlie croaked back. “You're here.”
“I'm here,” Carlisle agreed. His other hand brushed Charlie's stubbled cheek. His already pale skin had gone waxy, cold sweat gleaming.
The smell of his blood was thick in the air. Always sweeter than other humans, it now held a bitter edge as it pumped out of Charlie's body. Carlisle shook, wanting to stop it. Slicing through his sorrow was the foreign heat of rage. He wanted to find the person who shot Charlie.
“Hey.” Charlie's fingers twitched around his hand. “Stay with me.”
“That's my line,” Carlisle retorted with a forced smile.
“I'm... okay. Just a little cold.”
“Not as cold as me,” Carlisle argued.
“Yeah.” Charlie chuckled weakly, dissolving into another bloody cough. The blood rimmed his mouth and slid down the sides of his chin.
Carlisle leaned down, cradling Charlie's face in his hand. It didn't matter now, if he indulged. His tongue slid out, tracing over Charlie's lips. The taste of it on his tongue made him groan. It was exactly as sweet as it smelled, rolling over his tongue like mulled wine. But Carlisle noted it only for a moment before turning his attention over to the texture of Charlie's lips against his tongue. How soft they felt, how pliant.
Charlie's fingers pushed into his hair, nudging him closer, and he complied, sealing their mouths together in a full kiss. It was slow, exploring, acting like he had all the time in the world to get to know this mouth. When Charlie parted his lips for air, Carlisle dipped his tongue inside. Charlie moaned, fingers curling a little tighter. Sucking his own blood off Carlisle's tongue and mouth.
It was hard to pull away, but Carlisle managed it. Charlie's eyes were glassy staring up at him, his cheeks now a little flushed.
“You... picked a hell of a time... for that,” he said.
“I know. I'm sorry.”
“S'okay.” Charlie's thumb brushed across his cheek. “It... helped. I... can't go, now.”
“Oh?” If his heart worked, Carlisle imagined it would be racing. “That's all it takes? A kiss?”
“Yeah.” Charlie gave his hair a tug. “Better give me another, doc.”
Carlisle obeyed, shaping their lips into something fiercer. Demanding.
He would do what he had to, to keep Charlie here.
The woes of being a shoujou fan
Hi!
I was wondering if I could get more of your Carlisle x Charlie x Esme thoughts and headcanons please!
Thank you!
ABSOLUTELY! LET'S GO!
To start, Charlie does know there is something different about the Cullens but he doesn't have all the pieces to fully put it together, or fully acknowledge it.
Billy did warn Charlie about the Cullens but by that point Charlie was also getting good reports about the new doctor and his polite, if distant, family. Charlie was willing to give the benefit of the doubt if nothing more than Forks community is benefiting from this new doctor.
The first time Charlie ever met the new doctor it was for a case and short staffing issues plus small town, plus having the lowest seniority, Carlisle was called in to do the autopsy.
Charlie was taken aback by Carlisle for a moment before refocusing on the case. Charlie isn't blind ok, he can reconize a handsome man.
At some point when Charlie was talking to Carlisle about the autopsy their hands brushed together. Charlie jerked back, thinking he somehow accidentally touched body.
"Ah my apologies," Carlisle said, trying to put Charlie as ease. "They keep this room so cold."
Charlie nodded. Right the autopsy room, it was always freezing in here. Obviously it's gonna make anyone's hands cold.
That night Carlisle goes home and tells Esme about the cute new human officer he met at work that day.
Charlie meets Esme about a week later. They accidentally bumped into each other just as Esme was coming out of a store Charlie was passing by.
(This was not an accident, Esme did that on purpose. She needed to meet the cute human her husband spoke of)
Apologetic for bumping into the pretty lady, Charlie isn't blind ok, he helps her take her supplies to her car. There she introduces herself as Esme Cullen.
Charlie's inner thoughts: Oh no their both hot!
Charlie knows he's attracted to the hot doctor and his fairytale pretty princess wife but he's no homewrecker! (He's also jaded from his divorce from Renee that took his baby girl too)
Esme goes home to Carlisle and agrees that the officer is very cute. Come sit husband I must give you lessons on how to seduce men. No what you did woth Aro won't work here, this human isn't creepily obsessed with you like Aro was.
One of them finds out Charlie likes baseball and that's how they get an excuse to start spending more time with him.
I feel like one of them takes up fishing so that becomes their thing with Charlie and for some reason I feel like its Esme. She goes fishing with him when he's not fishing with Harry. She actually finds new spots.
They take things slow, after all this is the first time they're looking at a potential new family member who wasn't dying first.
Esme may or may not have broken into the Swan home for reconnaissance (Edward gets it from his mama) while Carlisle kept Charlie distracted for his annual checkup. (Carlisle totally switched around the appointments so he could get Charlie in his office and not Charlie's usual doctor)
Esme gets excited when she learns tjat Charlie has a daughter. A new daughter to spoil! Carlisle has the briefiest passing thought of matchmaking his single son but quickly dismisses it since the last time he tried didn't go well.
The kids are all polite but also confused because why are their parents intrested in this human?
In the far off future when they move to a new place they have better cover stories because Charlie made them fix it because you know hey police look for signs of this, this, and that. They also present as two families. The Cullens and the Swans. Charlie gets custody of Emmett, and he becomes the father to Emmett and Bella Swan. Sometimes Reneesme too if she feels like being related to her mother this go around.
Bonus: Aro looses his shit when he hears that Carlisle took an intrest in another man, a human one on top of it too.
I do have two aus in mind already. One is Charlie (and possibly Bella) get turned into vampires during Charlie's two weeks he spends down in Arizona with Bella. Possibly by Maria, or by one of the people she turned, I don't remember where her territory is supposed to be but I feel like its in or near that area. They return to Forks and try to adjust as best they can. The other is Charlie's family comes from a family if hunters whose job it is to keep the peace between the supernatural and humans. Billy and Carlisle are working his nerves because honestly Charlie is trying to keep the peace for the community. He calls his daughter who he has trained as best he can despite the distance and not seeing her as much as he likes. Bella comes to Forks to make sure the kids are behaving while Charlie keeps an eye on the adults. They are actually good about keeping their supernatural lives a secret, unlike some others.
Yeah, I guess I do. But like, what even is a star beam, you know? Now, a lead pipe to the shins? That's just reliable, baby.
